1. k, first of all, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE "ANSWERING!!" Kids, he's just asking a question, it's not a representation of what he thinks! at least i hope not anyways: this guy just broke into my house: yeah, i'm really going to trust that he will kill 1 person fast or torture us all. so . . . i would say, go and fucking torture us all, i'm not going to choose who should die, and we'd all have a better chance of figuring out away to get rid of this fucker. plus, me and my 2 sisters are way too sexy not to be able to seduce him and my brother has a temper like a motherfo he'd definetly find a way, and has the strength, to kill the jerk. ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
2. way too funny ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
3. i was talking to the guy that DJs at Hush Monday nights, Alex, he was saying how, for the first few hours of his set, a lot of new stuff, then towards the end, he plays the older tracks and the crowd that's still there are ppl. that have been clubbing for years, and they get all happy. that's second hand knowledge so not legit. ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
4. after many many years axl will return to touring. the newly vamped GnR is playing new years (on stage at 1AM) in vegas, and on jan. 14 in Rio at the "Rock in Rio" show (Jan. 12-21) with a bunch of other ppl., including Neil Young (yeah!), REM, and (my boys) the Chilli Peppers. their new album, Chinese Democracy, should be out before the summer, as they plan to embark on a tour at that point. don't know if you heard the soundtrack for end of days, but they have a song on that. also, slash's snakepit released their 2nd album a few months ago. of the two above listed releases, i haven't heard either of them so any opinions(?) would be nice to hear. also, one of the old gnr guys' wife has an awesome line of jeans, they are cut low on the hips probably gilby clarke's lady, can't remember. actually stopped following them boyz for a long while, got my connects at work who fill me in except the jeans part, that was some store in SoHo. ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
5. hey deanna- keep in mind, just because you don't consider her a friend, doesn't mean she doesn't consider you one. i have a co-worker who has some character flaws and talks a WHOLE lot (yes, i wish to start an auction too, she's for free- just bring a truck) and when you are coming to work cracked out on a saturday morning the last thing you want to hear is someone bitching about . . . everything(?). anyways, like i said, she feels she can say anything, so i do to. for instance, she was once bitching about something and i said, "well listen, i'm only saying this because i have a lot of respect for you, you are the type of person who . . . so you have to expect that or take it easy." key of the story is: it will probably boost her ego that you even cared to say something, a sign that you are really being a friend. good luck chica! ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
6. definetly a great poet. you should check out "an american prayer" i mean the spoken word album. real mellow, can hear the words and the music. in the movie, the scenes when he is speaking in the studio, that's what he is recording. great movie too ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
7. they are fine by the way . . . who are they? ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
8. he rocked the house, of course i got there around 2:45 (i think?) the WHOLE time played music to make you wanna dance and never sit down. ["shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your booty" (oh, he didn't play that, just sharon singing )] new mixes of songs that he's mixed before or that others have; insanely amazing mikey! um, sorry no examples only regret not getting there earlier. ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
9. enjoy your youth! next week's journal of neuroscience has an article about how "antidepressants . . . also serve to stimulate the growth of new brain cells. ". . . Rats killed after only a few days of drug treatment showed no extra cell growth. After several weeks, however, the antidepressant-treated rats had significantly more new cells sprouting in their brains than those in the control groups—and those cells seemed to survive longer than control-group cells. Follow-up studies showed that many of these newly generated cells (which are, initially, unspecialised for any particular job) were turning into nerve cells . . . ". . . Existing mood-altering drugs, especially those used recreationally rather than clinically, are often accused of killing brain cells. Drugs that instead stimulate the growth of such cells might be useful in a range of degenerative illnesses, such as Parkinson’s disease, that are now hard to treat. Expect more research on the relationship between neurotransmitter levels and brain-cell growth in the future." -- that's all from the economist mag. full article: http://www.economist.com/science/displayStory.cfm?Story_ID=443281 ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire

11. hey, i'm not going to be all defensive, just honest, my perspective: k, i'm sure you all get those weekly e-mails from clubplanet and all. usually run past the top section of in house ads and go straigt to the "who's playing where" section. one day, after a while, one of the post topics caught my attention. .. went to check it out, of course never found it -- my attention span and modem speed limit me to only the latest 3 pages -- read some of the post . . . definetly agreed, many of them seem pathetic . . . but then i met a bunch of the people, and was very impressed. and if you think about it, this isn't the "we like to sew" message board this is a board with ppl. who listen to good music and like to party, how could that be pathetic?? yes, i still think many topics and threads that follow are insanely annoying, but then you have imposters who kick it up and mock it all. and topics that are worth reading -- like that guy (i think his name was Evan?), with all the crazy sexual acts in club stories, you'd have to be really fucked up not to find those amusing (and scary ). long story short: don't judge too soon. i respect that you are voicing your opinion and all, and i also hope you respond to our rebuttals. --sharon [This message has been edited by sharonregina (edited 12-08-2000).]

13. liars! there's absolutely nothing wrong with NYC. nothing missing, nothing needed. wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
14. yeah, mergers and sweatshops are as global as we get in the US but it's cool though, keeps good music semi-underground sted of mainstream. wait, this is about soccer . . . we love soccer, but sitting and watching a game where it takes hours for a goal to be scored doesn't thrill us much. it's kind of like foreplay, you love it and all, but too much is just too much
15. the one day you guys are in my territory . . . enjoy lunch!
16. hey sheila- welcome to NYC girl things'll fall in to place sooner or later, so g'luck!

18. all those little things are definetly a piece of your past that you are throwing out. i have a shoebox full of photographs, and granted, they aren't trash, but i always come across them when i am cleaning up my space. i've bought photo-albums to put them all in, but i think i intentionally don't organize them because then they just become another book on the shelf. it's so weird, because when i look through them, the memories of the picture come to mind, and also, since i haven't spoken to some of the people in years, a million other memories come to mind. but i love that feeling- dusting off something old. and i don't keep too many things . . . except paper and things on my PC. hey, thanx for the chance to reminisce . .. most times though, with things like that, it's going back to places that i've been, and all of a sudden all of these memories come flooding back. i don't know why, but of all places, the west village does that. i'm not sure if it's just because i spent so many hours there for so long, just on the streets, or the people i was with, or me . . .. Things like this (see below) are things i keep, words . . . thoughts . . . "let me throw my mind as a stone up in the air while we talk/ and let me defy/the gravity which ties us down to all earthly things/ the moral society gravity/ the "Things I have to do today just to keep my society-status alive"/ gravity/ the "I should get some sleep, I have to get up early tomorrow" gravity/ so let me fly up there for a while/ above the central bubble of our organized chaos/ and unfold the clouds of thought and blinding trut/ but please don't forget/ if you ever see me start to drift away/to remind me to let myself/ fall back down again/to be able to rise once more/for whatever is up there/ is nothing wihout what is down here" g.s. i know this isn't what you meant, just sharing thoughts, right? -peace, love, and empathy- sharon
