  6. I learned to read tarot cards a while back, they can be very scary. don't know how to tell the future, but got/gave a lot of insight. I was once going through some really tough times, so i did a layout to analyze the situation, i was crying it was so true. they didn't better the situation, just got me thinking . . . . had my palm read too. same thing, just described who i am, i didn't have any questions for her, so she just told me when i'm supposedly going to die! that was awful! d'you ever see back to the future 2, when Marty goes into the future and Doc says something to the extent of you aren't suppose to know what is going to happen . . . it ruins everything, and anyways things change . . . your fate is only so drawn out. ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire

  12. starting to wish i took notes while reading this and debate it out Steve- I agree that most of the replies to your post are just name calling and idiotic. That is the stupidest way to make a point, because . . . it's not making a point. I expected more from some of you than that . And I also agree, that I'd like to see more post about music here. Like you said, the "rave" scene, as any other underground culture, used to be very open to teaching people about the music and about the culture. I came here looking for info on which clubs have good music and good DJs or even what music to be checking out, I'm rather new to the non-bullshit club scene. I did get that info here, and i've heard some great music, been in places that i am glad i got to be at, and checked out trax that have expanded my listening because of this board- and definetly in the time period you are complaining about. also, keep in mind when any genre goes mainstream, you are going to get a more diverse audience, and they aren't always going to be like you, or share your passion for music, which you obviously have. I'm sorry this board isn't what it used to be, but the whole internet really isn't either. I mean, i remember signing on 5 years ago and talking to random people about Life, Music, Poetry, Art, the World, and picked up a lot of info. Then within 6 months you couldn't enter a chat room without it becoming "age sex location check." when i started seeing that as the opening line to a conversation, fuck that, i was out of there, because my age sex location doesn't tell you a thing about me or the topic at hand. If this isn't what you expect anymore, than maybe you should listen to the advice you were given, you are addicted to this board, "and the drugs don't work they just make you worse" there IS information out there, and there IS information HERE, just don't read every post, or reply. Let people say what they need to, and calling people stupid or saying what they discuss is stupid isn't much of an insult because it doesn't accomplish anything. Other advice that was given to you, read what interests you. I agree, I also stop reading a thread once I see personal conversations. It's not my place to say anything, plus i love these people, i love that they can sign on and say things like that to each other, because guess what? they really care about each other. Anyways, goodluck in your crusade . . . we are all guilty and will not be at the resurrection . . . sharon ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
  13. kid, PM me if you have AIM or ICQ. you f'n rock. of course i've heard Buena Vista Social Club and Ibrahimm Fherrer's (that's my guess on spelling ) solo album. have you seen the documentary? any feedback? regards to ozomatli, i saw them open up for Big Bad Voodoo Daddies a couple of years ago at Rutgers, fell in love, awesome jam band, bought their album the next day, and saw them again open up for Offspring. So funny to see the way they WERE appreciated at the college show and WEREN'T with the 11-17 audience. ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire

  16. just ordered the Soundtrack to "Dil to Pagal Hai," a Hindu Film. and remembered loving those Prodigy songs with the female vocalist, and the song "Narayan" they did. any suggestions of must have things you'll never ever hear if it's not your culture? i don't mean just dance music, really just anything that is beautiful musically. Thanx in advance! ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire

  18. my sentiments exactly **[stop reading now if you don't want to hear usesless information, (me babbling). continue to the next set of asterisks if you wanna hear about twilo.] rolled out of twilo at 8, headed for breakfast, got to work, absolutely NOTHING to do- sooo i got to sleep! woohoo! except for when people kept calling the wrong number for the first half hour- a lot of ppl. are cursing me right now . my favorite, "is this greyhound bus?" me: "no," click. 5 seconds later, "oh, i guess this isn't greyhou . . ." click. i think that just thrilled me because it wasn't -- (old southern woman's voice), "is this cross country bank?" -- our usual wrong number dialers. (i swear i'm never that mean! usually help them get the right number!, f'n lack of sleep.) theeeen my mommy called my cell, which of course is on the bottom of my bag, and woke me up. "yes ma, i'm still alive" "no ma i ain't been drinkin." but anyways, i love that lady, so i don't care. useless babbling ends here -->** Sasha and Digweed TORE THE HOUSE DOWN! WOW! Yes, it was crazy packed the whole time, felt like a moshpit, but after returning downstairs from the VIP room (where I was glad to have run into many ClubPlanet VIP ) around . . . whatever time . . . it was, there was nothing but good Vibes in that place. There was just enough room on the floor to dance, and you couldn't help to if you heard what those two cats were spinning. someone mentioned in the other thread, the song Sasha spun around 6:50? that WAS amazing. what was even better though, was when the 2 of them were spinning together. as if they were saying, "k, listen this sounds really beautiful, listen, listen, DANCE." meanwhile, they're standing up there, groovin with big smiles on their faces - Sasha atleast, Digweed was concentrating a lil hard there but no matter, I love that guy. the deeper/darker tracks were cool, especially because there were so many people, really chilled things down, but i don't know, they have access to some extraterrestrial drum machines or something, so cool to see 3,000 people jump up and down for a few seconds nuff useless babbling love ya all! --me ------------------ "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -voltaire
