  1. the most annoying thing about trillian for me used to be that it didn't support aim profiles. now it does. now, the most annoying thing about trillian is that its aim profiles only support plaintext. the greatest thing about trillian, though, is its automatic logging feature. very cool. i still use aim, though...
  2. they still can't fill the space? more like they have trouble keeping people out of the place... i was there for tiesto and it was a bitch just trying to move... people always bumpin into you when you tryin to dance, or breathe... exit has always been overcrowded as hell every time ive been there
  3. to me size wouldnt be a relevant excuse even if exit were the largest club in the world, cause regardless of how large it is, there have been many many rave type events with venues much larger than anything exit will ever have... and have had tight soundsystem regardless.
  4. did anyone who went notice like i did that in spite of all their renovations (not too shabby on the visual side of the things i might add), their main floor audio setup is still piss ass poor? maybe it had to do with some overzealousness on the eq knobs, but it would seem tiesto would have a handle on that... or maybe he was just trying to conform to the headrattling rumbling and indiscernible bass characteristic of exit's usual hardhouse and trance? and the crowds were a bitch... not that people were unfriendly or anything, but just wayy too crowded... i had a decent time overall, but it wasnt worth 30 bucks
  5. i love hiphop but i dont get hookups on the music as much as i do for dance music so i dont get to hear it as often as i'd like. im diggin - dilated peoples, black eyed peas, the entire fucken quannum crew, j5, talib kweli, common sense, brand nubian, dead prez, mountain brothers, nas, and others
  6. choobak, i think if the "no one cares about your opinion" sentiment holds true, then it would apply to your comments as well... although im more inclined to agree with your 'people have different tastes' ideas, which are very true.. anyhow, i love tiesto, and i'm a very picky listener. for reference purposes, some other favorite artists of mine are deep dish, sander kleinenberg, hybrid, tom middleton, omni trio, pvd, sasha/digweed, dave seaman, and chris fortier.
  7. nah yo, a better idea than a sleeping gas release system in the passenger cabin would be to outfit planes with NITROUS OXIDE release systems. that way, in the event of uncertain danger, like a terrorist attempt on the plane, bam, the pilots hit the big red N2O button and not only are the passengers, along with the terrorists, incapacitated, but the terrorists will likely lose all interest in their original plans.
  8. two years ago? didnt exit just open around end of summer 2000? ...at least thats what i remember...
  9. lip gloss... what are you gonna do with 3 tubes of lip gloss? heheh... but music, thats a different story... as long as its quality, i -never- consider music purchases a waste of money... always a good investment in fuel for the human spirit
  10. well, two times.... the show earlier this month went off successfully i believe... but two times is pretty lame, too.... i dont know whose fault it is for all these cancellations, but itd be nice if they got their act together.. its really annoying not knowing whether or not an act advertised is really going to be there or not... i wish there were consumer laws or something that protected people against this.. it's total false advertising.. if hybrid and limelight were a product and a store, theyd be sued to kingdom come by now... but alas, theyre an artist and venue... so no luck...
  11. for those are you that were looking forward to seeing hybrid spinning at limelight on friday the 24th, they cancelled. i have no idea why, but that's what it says on their webpage. i'm ridiculously pissed right now, as hybrid's one of my favorite artists and i've been dying for a chance to see them, so i think i'll go cry in a corner now...
  12. lets see some pictures of you folks so we have some identifying materials on hand. get postin' ya punks
  13. i'm down for a limelight meetup... meeting up beforehand at a lounge, restaurant, or bar would be a good option too..
  14. funny, this club has such a remarkably appropriate name. because every time i step foot in the place, the 'exit' is exactly the first thing i wish i was headed for. (dont take me too seriously here... im just being a smartass, i dont diss on exit all *that* much)
  15. i've been to exit plenty of times on account of friends who drag me there because they're fond of the asian crowd present (and not to mention a few who like to roll their asses off while theyre at it), so i'm pretty familiar with the music and atmosphere of the club. the club itself, as in its construction, architecture, and decor, etc, is spectacular. the people who made it did a great job of living up the creation of a 'mega-club'.. interesting rooms, good sound system, decent lights and effects, and a pleasant rooftop deck to boot. the crowd's alright.. i'm personally not as bothered by bad vibe as others can get, and being asian myself i can't help but feel pretty comfortable with the crowd of em that masses there every night.. i bump into more people i know at exit than anywhere else...its not as pretentious as webster hall, and its security is pretty anal, but thats standard fare i guess... the big thing i have against exit is its music... obviously there are people who honestly like it a lot, but i can't help but wonder if those people like it that much because they haven't been exposed to other djs, genres, and artists... i keep a very open mind to different musical styles, and i'm really into trance, which is what exit purports to play... problem is, virtually all of the music ive heard at exit in my time there has been a brand of trance of house or whatever that's frustratingly bland, uninteresting, and unimaginative that totally fails to get me charged up unless i'm intoxicated... i suppose i could call the music there unsophisticated, but that sounds pretty snotty... but then again, really, what else do you call music that's so stangnant and uninventive? sure, i could roll and go to exit and have a decent time with the chemically-enhanced musical and social experience, but then again, i'm gonna roll, why not see someone like hybrid at limelight, which would be an amazing experience blowing anything from exit straight out of the water? ....but dont take this as no hate from me... i wish exit all the best in my hopes that it ups its musical standard and takes better advantage of an impressive locale.
  16. personally, i feel more comfortable around asian-americans than i do with 'fobs', but dishing out hate like that towards them is the same brand of discrimination that others dish out to asians in general. there's nothing inherently bad about the fobs, and they dont bother anyone.. so whats the trouble? they might act a little different, talk different, dress different, and dance differently, but diversity is what makes things real in america, isnt it? and as for 40 year old clubbers at exit... i got no hate for older clubbers, but let me guarantee you that a 40 year old at exit is NOT there because the music is 'amazing'. give me a break...
  17. hahaha wordup ^^^^ anyway, we better start some threads praising the great qualities of all the white kids, the black kids, the hispanic kids, and eastern european kids too plenty of bullshit to go around!
  18. whoah, you know a kid named chris fung from marlboro? how old is he? i think i know him.....
  19. i'm always open to oakenfold because he's impressed me in the past with very very nice sets.. ive been dissapointed by nearly everything he has released recently, but i know that he's got the capability, so i'm no oakie hater. but then again, tiesto is not just a better mixer, but he's been keeping things fresh and pleasant even in recent times. he gets my vote.
  20. the church motif of the limelight clubspace has to be hands down one of the most interesting dance floors i have ever seen... and, no, it shouldnt matter whether a club has asians or blacks or whites or hispanics or venezuelans or russians or whoever there, but for a lot of people used to spending a lot of time with people of similar cultural origins, its nice to know whether they'll find common company at their destination. celebrate our differences, but remember our origins.
  21. yeah limelight has a fair share of asians in the crowd, tho not nearly as much as exit... but the ones that are there tend to be friendlier and less cliquey than all those peeps who lounge around at the end of exit's main room... and also more into the quality dance music scene... (ie, not exit 'trance')
  22. exit, but only because the music sucks and the crowd reminds me of high school. (the venue itself is amazing) speeed, for obvious reasons. ------------------ never play leapfrog with a unicorn. (darkfyre@yahoo.com)
  23. jeff mills - the music aint my cup of tea, but he's quite a show to watch whoever was playing downtempo in the trigger room around 2-3ish has some damn good taste in music. ------------------ never play leapfrog with a unicorn. (darkfyre@yahoo.com)
