  1. Fuck Macintosh:laugh:
  2. I'm pretty sure the DJ school is a go, they were advertising for it at the conference. Can they get enough retards to sign up for it is the question.
  3. I graduated from Full Sail about 6 months ago and I must say it was a great experience. SAE is not as intense of a program nor is it as complete, but that is not to say you cannot get as much out of SAE as one would get out of Full Sail. I know some people who have graduated from SAE and are doing nothing in the industry and I also know people who have graduated from Full Sail and can't get an unpaid internship to save their life. Bottom line is you will be unable to work for a year if you attend Full Sail because it is about 40 to 60 hrs a week of school at all hours. You will be given an all around eduation in Live Sound Reinforcement, Pro Tools, MIDI, Post Production and Advanced Recording. There are quite a few other classes but they are always changing their curriculum so I'm sure it's changed since I left. You'll know signal flow and how to run an SSL, but basically you had the same knowledge of a Studio if you attend SAE. I just think Full Sail was a great academic experience and I got a lot out of it and had a great time. SAE is a great school, but you will focus more on Pro Tools and recording consoles than anything else. I also hear they have a DJ school now( in my mind that is a joke) P.M me and I will give you more info if you want.
  4. All I know is going to see Jonathan Peters during WMC is as close to NY as I want to get right now. The place just had a weird vibe, too many juiceheads dancing around with their shirts off. Dark, hard and evil is the best way to describe what I saw that night. It was like they took sound factory and moved it to menage for the night. I'll take the Miami crowd over that any day.
  5. I think your best bet with Lauderdale right now is to forget what names you are gonna bring in. You gotta get the people first, they don't really care about the music, except for the difference between hip hop and house. My suggestion is to have a collection of DJ's spin throughout the night. Don't have to be big names, and you certainly should not have to pay all of them. But by doing this you will get free promotion for your party. The more DJ's the better chance you have more of a crowd that would not have been there if they were not a friend of a DJ. I've seen this work before in Lauderdale, granted it was a one time event, but it worked. Musical format...... I suggest a mixture of whatever, house, trance, tech, even a little mainstream 931 style.... if your doing it at Venu, then you can actually pull peeps in that are walking by if they like what they hear.
  6. O.K. I've been a GA fan as long as I can remeber. I am very dissapointed in the past year bacause I think his sets have just sucked, and most people will on this board probably stopped listening to him years ago. I think his style is just cheesy now. But there is something that makes me want to check him out late night when I am on the beach. Something about trance stays with me, but all in all I think his style just sucks as of right now. He needs to prove himself to me, and I was giving him his last chanace at ultra and he didnt show up. Talk about dissappointmean and frustration( since I missed other dj's.) I have met and seen DJ Nito once........... he is a GA imitation. Talk about hands in the air, I'm the man bullshit.....who does he think he is. I mix records just as good and you don't see me imitiating this guy. Tell Nito to get his own fucking records and stop imitating some soon to be washed up trance dj. Nito is a nice guy and all,but these days you cant follow in another mans footsteps.... get some of your own moves, and your own records. Don'[t point at your head like you created trance, it's getting old.
  7. I think I need about 3 days of silence, because I am actually sick of all dance music at this point. Need to let my head clear but if I pop in a cd my headache starts coming back. I hope with this next night of sleep I will wake up without the jitters.
  8. Well at least for me, Wet Grooves- Shelbourne Dance Valley- Opium Jonathan Peters- Menage Richie Hawtin-Bed
  9. First of all, that is fucking rediculous. I am one of those fans that was waiting to see him. Even though he was not on the main stage, you gotta work with what you got. He totally killed the vibe for the rest of the night on that stage, nothing went right. They had to do a quick set up for whoever the hell played after rabbit, and then they set up the booth on the right of the stage. Picotto also got fucked on this deal as well. He only played for 30 minutes. I can see why Acosta would be pissed, considering he has been on the 'mainstage' for the past 3 years, but the addition of Underworld appaerently knocked him out this year. I actually wanted to give GA one more chance to show me he could still rock Ultra, after listening to set after set of shit for the past year. But now I'm done. Officially pissed off and retired GA fan. (for the time being). And why the hell was Picotto cut short? And who the hell put David Padilla in charge up there? Seriously, I should have just skipped that stage all together with the time I wasted, checking back to see what was going on.
  10. sick sick party, had a great time. So many dj's I'd never heard of before that threw down awesome shit. The only complaint I have about the night was the sound in the main room. I thought they were gonna go full blast for the conference, I could barely hear Johan Gielen's set over the 3 other rooms banging loud and clear. I know about the noise complaints but come on. Johan threw a good set. But some of my new favs are DJ Montana and Don Diablo. These two guys were off the hook. And there were many others of whom I had no idea who they were, but they definitely get thumbs up in my book.... every DJ that was there. Saw tiesto qute a few times hanging with his buddies. And of course MARCO V ended the night, but I can barely remember his set at this point. That's my half assed review...... Slept 4 hours in two days, and no drugs as of yet. Think I'm gonna take it easy tonight, but might hit up that party @ Rumi.
  11. Arome= Scot Project. I'd say hard German Trance. But Scot Project has his own sound. And Saleen wasn't it you that said Scot Project is not a Trance DJ?
  12. Not only am I a dj whore like the rest, but I'm also getting paid chill by the pool of the Radisson every day and hand out demo CD's for the company I work for. The only thing that sucks is that I can't sleep in, I'm gonna be one cracked out mother fucker on Thursday and Friday.
  13. I don't think you are gonna be able to pull that one off. They will search you and find it, they will not allow any type of recording devices in unless you have a press pass. Just cameras.
  14. Made you look. But sereiously when is this place opening up? I guess their first night will be DT?

    The admins message....

    yeah, I'm a little lost:confused:
  16. Kuka, I know we spoke about this, but if your spending 200 a night at the Haddon hall you are getting ripped off. The place is a dump. Better off cancelling your reservations there, and getting 1 bed @ the best western for 120 or less a night. Plus with the war starting 2 days before the conference, there might be a lot of hotel cancellations and you might be able to pull a cheap rate @ the end. Just my advice.

    ATTN: Lola

Fuck that...... from what I hear Lola is a huge Picotto fan and she would not miss it for the world.l
  18. Dude I was supposed to go with a bunch of friends, but I ahd to work till like three in the morning. Now I'm looking at these pictures and they are all in them with these hot chicks. The are the only guys in the pics. Damn..... Iwould have had a kick ass time. ................... oh well....... I guess until next time
  19. Acosta should be there this Saturday, but Spi has been dead lately. Maybe you'll luck out and the new Space will annouce it's grand opening;)
  20. Remeber that night like it was yesterday, well at least the end of it. So many people in the DJ booth, and the old light girl, think her name was Allegra, dancing on the bar. A truly great moment
  21. Edgar V George Acosta Oscar G Garfield Roland
  22. Guess that explains it. Eddie as in EddieG-Soldier:laugh: I was so wasted I would have been content with drum n bass. Just kidding. So I guess I have yet to see markus spin.
  23. Started the night at Sky Bar, had a little dinner and a few drinks...... well a lot of drinks. However, It gets a little old after a while, even though theres hot chicks everywhere, so I left around 2:30 and was gonna call it an early night. However, I decided since I was walking by Spi, I might as well check out Markus since I had never seen him spin. Got comped at the door, which was cool, cause I wasn't going in if I had to pay, since I knew it was gonna be dead. Sure enough it was. Like 20 people in that place. This is the second time I have seen the club dead on a saturday, and last time GA was on the decks only 2 weeks after it was renamed. In my eyes there is a lack of promoting going on, or something must be done to revamp that place. A grand opening or something. Every time I saw GA when it was Spin it was packed. Anyway, I'm sure something is in the works. On to MS, great DJ. I just can't believe Saleen is into his music. Because he was playing pure trance when I got there. Good stuff but definitely not up Saleens alley. I'm sure he played a little progressive earlier in the night, and I've heard his global broadcasts, which are a little toned down. But he even dropped French Kiss(scot project mix)...................... classic shadow tune. I'd go see him again, but Spi needs to get their asses out on the street and promote. So where were you guys anyways..... Did not see the saleen or Lola....... I was gonna try and find Globalgirl, but I was just too drunk to start hunting. Until next time.

    Skybar

Definitely a beautiful crowd. Another one of those pretentious places, but I had a pretty good time when I was there. Agreed it is a good place to start out the night
