  1. Yep. Likewise You and flithyslag the first two I had ever met. Damn that was a long time ago....
  2. Thanks, likewise. I hadn't been out to a club in ages and ages and this past weekend I went to two. Spirit for Diggers and Avalon for Jr. I hit it 2 for 2 and had great times at each. I'm def not fully coming out of retirement as I've been pretty content keeping it low key, but I'm much more receptive to getting out once in a while for a good party ie Danny Howells and Ben Watts
  3. yeah it really was a lot of fun. the gay crowd doesn't bother me, the freaks take the party to a different level and add different dimension to a party and I'm all for it. I like diversity at a party. It gets tired seeing a room full of clones all dressing, dancing, and all looking the same... It's not a party for homo phobes so if it's gonna bother you to see it, then this is not the party for you. ibrandon - the aforementioned statement is exactly why we were told what to expect b/f we went in and paid. in my opinion he was only looking out for us and i appreciate it. he def wasn't trying to be a dick about it. thats not how it was said. fastfast - the mixing was tight as far as i remember. no trainwrecks that i recall while i was there and everything seemed to flow very very smoothley. I don't get out much these days so I'm not super current on my music. I do know what I like and I liked what I heard. Yes I heard 1 Madonna track. No Unbreak my heart, lol and personally I would have loved to have heard Your Child. Haven't heard that out in ages. Hell it's a gay party, I'd almost be dissapointed if I didn't hear some of that stuff, lol As for throwing 2005 at the end of remixes. It doesn't bother me. If it sounds good it sounds good. Hell how many remixes has JP done of Going Thru It or In Your Eyes? Neither of which I personally care for, regadless of the version.
  4. After orginally planning on going to Roxy for JP and hearing they were charging 50 beans to get in and be packed amoungst a sea of train wrecks, we said fuck that and came up with plan b - junior at avalon. I had never heard him live b/f so I was phsyched. I went with my gf and another friend of mine. Got to the door and the guy warns us. It's mixed but very very gay with all kinds of freaks and freaky shit going on inside. Obviously he could tell we were straight and I appreciate him giving us the heads up for what it was worth but I already knew what to expect. I just smiled and said no worries we're here for junior and walked in. Got there at around 2am and was really liking the music. Thought it got a little slow at one time or another but I'm not complaing. I can't love everything that's played. I was on the dancefloor the entire time getting my groove on from the second I walked in till the we walked out. Was very happy/surprised with the live act - Veronica She performed Release me, Someone to hold, and a new one Relentless 2005 with the keys to Tim Rex's Relentless with her vocals over it - not bad but personally I don't think that track should be touched. The crowd was what I expected at a Junior Party and were all mad cool!! I had a fucking blast!!! My gf thought I had a little too much fun, lol We didn't stay too late and left about 6, after the bar closed and the buzz wore off. I'm an old timer and I don't do the things I used to although I was def tempted to go looking for a little pick me up just cause I was having so much fun and didn't want to leave but I was pretty beat, it was a long weekend and it was time for me to go home. As I was walking out, the music was really getting good which made it that much harder to keep going out the door. All in all, I had a great time. I'd definitely go to another one, and I'm sorry I waited this long to see him. I always read, on here especially, people ripping into him for sucking. I went with an open mind and my dancing shoes on and had a blast. He might have played better in his day and perhaps others who went didn't like it. All I know is that I had a blast and was almost a bit awe stuck finally seeing jr behind the decks. Good shit!
  5. I was there. Got there around 1:30 stayed till about 5:30. not too much after that love to love you track. in fact i asked about it on another board i post on (under a diff name) i was loving it!! i thought the music was really good as well as the crowd. as an old timer, i was happy to see it wasn't all kids and the crowd, from where we stood all seemed in control. we didn't go on the dance floor cause it was too packed but stood off to the side by the bar in the back where there was plenty of room to get down.
  6. sounds good. my gf and i are looking for something good for sun. maybe im blind, but where is love?
  7. i'm looking for the same thing this weekend. smaller room, phat beats, good vibe. silverbull is usually down with these spots. sb - where are you brutha??
  8. looking for a good spot to get my groove on. yeah i know about all the big parties diggers, sander, morales etc etc anyone know some smaller more intimate spots, where the music, crowd and vibe are all on point? silverbull you always seem to have a handle on these spots. any suggestions from you all for labor day weekend would be most appreciated.
  9. the mentality of the majority of the people on this board never ceases to astonish me. so the guy liked marquee. yes its models and bottles, so what? some people like that and as such there are places that cater to it. i enjoy both scenes depending on my mood. no need to hate. i laugh when someone says something positive about a more upscale place and then the poeple who think they're cool b/c they think they hang out in an underground scene come in and come in with how it sucks.
  10. Sounded Like Noise To Me. Crowd Looked Terrible. What Do You Expect From A Bar In Jersey Shitty..
  11. you don't need one. happy hour is free.
  12. there used to be some good discussions up in here back in the days. now, it's 3/4 of a page worth of stickys and the other posts that aren't stickys are all promotions anyway. whadda shame...
  13. first of all, "hot girls" don't go to open bars that attract the likes of you and your boys that are too cheap to go someplace nicer and actually pay for drinks. no offense. open bars are a essentially a dude ranch full of cheap guys looking to get as drunk as possible. girls know this and stay away - usually don't know of any clubs that have it but you can go into the midtown warzone to what used to be called tammany hall, not sure what its called now, blackfinn maybe, on 53rd bet 2nd and 3rd and they have one. the special always changes but its usually cheap 10-15 bucks open bar for a couple of hours. its packed with cock. there are girls there but they are def in the minority. my advice - go there, get polluted, then move on........
  14. as long as you feed her, she's down. she's quite the porker.
  15. ok, first of all nobody is going to newark for afterhours. nobody wants to go to newark for any hours. hell that woman and the kid she was watching were caught in the crossfire yesterday in the middle of the aftrnoon and the woman died. second of all, after hours and hot chicks don't belong in the same sentence b/c there aren't any.... thirdly: disco, albeit a crackden, is probably what you're looking for b/c there will be girls there. personally and musically i'd like to go to check vc at crobar. i'm straight, but vc is the man and ive never heard him. and no afterhours is all straight. it's always been that way.
  16. this thread coming from some mook who lives in wayne, i'd bet the farm with his parents. yeah you're a real player, take that money you save living home and piss it away on cristal. i was at the wynn opening weekend. nice place. are you staying in the same room with your parents? oh and why do you care so much about morillo's career or where he spins. 75pct of the people that come out to see him are b&t'ers just like yourself. thats a good chunk of his fan base. why not throw down a set in an area thats gonna be packed with the same people that see him in nyc?
  17. track is weak. very generic sounding imo. very standard beat sequence and the vocals are too soft and don't really get anyones attn. sounds like something ktu would play b/c it sounds like a lot of the other tracks they play. which is why i say its way too generic. you could play this one in place of one of the others of the like and nobody would know the difference, or probably care... reminds me of some of the cheesey club songs from back in the early 90's. just my opionion of course.
  18. big fuckin deal, they played commercials. aww poor baby. just another example of him being a bitch. he alienates everything and everyone he comes into contact with. put him out to pasture.
  19. honestly, why do you care if celeb owners own a piece of this or that? how does it affect you personally? as far as the bldg that WAS sf, big deal, i could care less if hanson bought it the bldg is closed now. you're no better off with it closed then you are if the dixie chicks bought it. its a good space, and a viable room for a nightclub whatever it's premise. there will never be another environment like sf was in its hey day. as far as rock nights, if you don't enjoy it, don't go. they'll most likely be on off nights anyway and its just another avenue for the investors to profit from the space when not otherwise utilized. hell cbgb is in danger of closing if not already closed. who cares if on a wed night they have some indy band playing there. you kids make me laugh. having a well rounded, diverse nightlife is what makes this city great. appreciate things for what they are. don't live in the past, it'll get you no where but bitter..
  20. came over to this section of the board for the first time in light of my upcoming trip out at the end of april. staying at the new wynn grand opening weekend 4/28-5/2. can't wait. all great sound advice given on here, but what i think is funny is that it's all pure common sense. if you can't figure this stuff out on your own at this age, then i think you may have been dropped on your head once too many times as a kid. i can't believe guys are outlining outfits they're anticipating wearing out there and asking for a thumbs up or down... still though, it's nice of the vegas professionals on here to spell it out to the less educated.
  21. try chuck-e-cheese. for 40 bucks, there you can get a table. they won't give you bottles, but you will be able to get pitchers - OF SODA also within your 40 dollar budget, you'll be able to throw in a couple cheese pies (NO TOPPINGS) and 1 ticket each for a romp in the ball pit.
  22. great review. what detail. you should do these for a living.......
