  2. The BB King theatre is on 42nd, between 8th / 9th Avs. I've actually been to 3 Tsunami-tossed parties -- the Roller Rink Rave (June 2000), then one at the Chelsea Piers and one somewhere else (forget which). They're pretty good, although I thought the latter two weren't _as_ good (expensive bar, poor sound system, younger crowds). Anywho, we'll see what goes on -- one of my friends mentioned it, so we'll see how I'm feeling and what else is going on @ Friday. Oh, and Gambit -- my pleasure. Glad you and the rest of the peeps were able to make it over. Sorry if I wasn't terribly coherent, or as good a host as I might have been -- hey, it was 4/20...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 3. I'm pretty happen with the crew here -- as silly and dramatic as it gets here, I like the fact that the board isn't limited to just music (blasphemy!). I think it's pretty cool that we can get together away from clubs, if only for a short time, and have dinner, converse and interact with each other without publicly behaving like the social deviants we all know we really are. Or maybe that's just me? Maybe this board could be policed a bit better, but then you encounter the Twilo board syndrome -- what constitutes too much and too little content censorship, and what's just right? Besides, I'm too busy to split my time between boards anyway..... there's only 24hrs in a day! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 4. I only found out about it after Sinfest snickered about it: http://sinfest.net/d/20010422.html ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  5. Actually, I think you'd be surprised at the number of peeps who are taking breaks right now. That I know of, at least..... at least 3 of the people I knew when I started are laying off, and I've been cutting back myself recently as well. Suffering from a little Twilo and LL burnout, I think..... and a lot of burnout from chem'ing every damn weekend for 4mos. Just now starting to feel like myself again....... Don't worry -- there's life after clubbing. And it doesn't mean you have to _stop_...... just take a break and moderate. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 6. Yeah, I dunno what's up with this crap about E making you less sexually rambunctious when you roll. I've left Twilo early a few times cuz it was too embarassing to stick around...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 7. Heh. I did the MS walk today -- 12.5 miles, baby. Started at the WTC, walked up along the West Side Highway to 12th, cut down and across thru Chinatown, curled by City Hall, went across the Brooklyn Bridge, around Brooklyn Heights, back across the Bridge, then down thru Battery Park, and up the West Side Esplanade to the WFC. It was 65 when I got there at 9:30am. It was 86 when I finished at 3:20pm. I look like a lobster right now..... I thought I wouldn't burn that badly, but.... "oops"? ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  8. At least two girls @ work are on it -- I personally think it's a load of shyt, since you can't give those things up forever or anything. But whatever floats yer boat.... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  9. Are Cheetos considered acceptable currency? What about mayonnaise? I have lots of those........ ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  10. SharonR -- Did you go to it @ the BB King last time, by any chance? What was the venue like? How was the actual music, decorations, security, etc? Just curious -- the BBK theater seems a rather unlikely place to throw a party....... tx! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  11. I'm waiting until Saturday to post mine -- gonna have my new white hairdo by then, so it'll be current. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  12. One of my friends reminded me of this -- X-Dream is spinning at the BB King theater this coming Friday, along with Yahel (and maybe Oforia?). First of all, is this the first time Tsunami has held a shindig at the BB King? I thought I remembered there being something a month ago....... Second, has anybody seen either Yahel or X-Dream? The only act I personally know to be godlike is Spirallinz, although my buddy h0nus has assured me that Hallucinogen is right there alongside SZ. I'd like to hit some psytrance up soon, but I'd rather not be let down.... knowwhatimean? -=Vejita=- "tryingthewaytoopackedsiglinethingyout" ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. 13. I was actually quite disappointed by his performance at LL -- the crowds were way too dense for the space, and he kept stutter-starting in between his songs. I liken it to my experience seeing BT "spin" at the Roxy -- he's a competant musical artist, playing at a beautiful location, but something went awry (tried too hard?), and turned in a subpar performance. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  14. Furnace -- got it. I had actually been keeping the most accurate count of people on that original Clubplanet thread before, but it's been archived and it's not searchable yet. Sorry about that....... Likewise, if anybody's name isn't on that list and should be, let me know. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 15. I'll PM you right after I post this about the check. As far as transportation goes -- I don't have a ride yet, either, so there's at least a few of us in the same boat. We could rent a car -- I'd be willing to, anyway -- or maybe carpool with those who have cars and are willing to drive. Maybe we can charter a bus or something silly, too..... Anywho, let's make sure we have the people necessary to reserve the place before we start worrying too much about the details. We'll get there....... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  16. Just to revisit this matter -- I personally have been yearning to get out of the city for a while at some point. I was hoping to rent a house in the Poconos, PA, this past New Years' Eve with some friends, but we started our search too late -- everything was booked. However, the one item that absolutely floored me during that aforementioned search was a place called the King's Barn. You can check it for yourselves ( http://www.kingsbarn.com/barn.htm ), but basically it's PHAT. The main place, the Lodge, can accomodate 22 people comfortably (a few more, I've been told, if we need to squeeze a few in). It has a 6-person hot tub, (bumper) pool table and a dart board.... plus it's situated on 84 acres of land. I personally think it's perfect..... I was trying to organize this event 2-3 months ago, since the place tends to book pretty quickly (New Years' Eve is booked from now until 2010). However, circumstances prevented this from happening -- I got laid off, and apparently it was a bit too early for some people to be able to commit. I still have checks from several people, which have (and will remain) uncashed until if/when we have enough people to rent the place. We need at least 20 people to rent the Lodge out... I've received payment from the following people thus far: The cost is $105 per person -- that's $70 ($35/night), plus a $35 refundable damage deposit that we get back after we check out (assuming there's no damage to the place). The weekend is Friday, June 22 - Sunday, June 24, since that was agreed to be an open date for most people on the board. Once we get the required 20 people together and pay to reserve the place, we can worry about the logistics surrounding travel down there, shopping, etc. I've already verified that the Lodge is still available -- we still have a chance! Anywho, please let me know if any of ya'll are still interested, and I'll send you instructions what to do next. You can contact me at vejita1975@hotmail.com (like in the sig). ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 21. Yeah, it's off-topic -- slap me with a trout. But it affects a fellow boarder and ex-roommate, so I guess it's not entirely inappropriate. Anywho, my pal Furnace is in danger of having to get out of the city -- he's still scoping for an apartment and a job, and he can't juggle both. At the same time, I just heard from one of the guys here at work that he's gonna have to move out of his phat Brooklyn pad (he's going back to Cali). Here's the gospel, straight from the wombat's mouth: So, there it is -- if there are any peeps out there looking for an apartment, let me know. I'd assume that means there's no brokers fee, especially since I have the landlord's # as well. The only caveat here is that if Furnace wants a space, I'm gonna give him a spot, hands-down. As for me, I can't move in there -- I've already settled into a 2yr lease in the city. But this is a helluva deal to pass up..... the guy says the only downside is the 45min train commute -- it's at the very last stop on the R line. Let me know if any of ya'll are interested. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  22. Hey pal, I'm not a teenage and I'm imitating him just fine as-is. Got my skizzul shaved today (again).... the Supersaiyajin look will be back once my dead fibrous strands sufficiently replenish themselves. And the only two peeps that I was likened to last time was Billy Idol (of all fucking people) and Slim Shady...... I'd take Slim any day, given that choix. Btw, if you have an ID, you should come to "Down The Hatch" tomorrow..... evil things await, with nasty pointy teeth. Check the PMs (cc'ing ya'z)..... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  23. "Ruiner", by Nine Inch Nails. That CD -- The Downward Spiral -- didn't leave my car player for literally a year, and left my car infrequently thereafter (interspersed with Crystal Method's "Vegas", as well as a hardcore, pipe-wielding custom mix CD). ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. 24. Gummy Worms and Sno Caps. The former slithers down yer throat, the latter melts on yer tongue..... liquid candy = schweet. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  25. A bit far away, physically -- Colorado -- but my friend and his padre run an ISP down there called Solucian Networking (http://www.solucian.com). May sound like a mom-and-pop place, and it is -- but they're always on call, day or night, and they're awesome to deal with. They cater primarily to small/mid-sized businesses, been around 3-4yrs..... Anyway, lemme know if you want more info. I don't get anything out of it -- I pay em for hosting, same as everybody else. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
