  1. Tx for the heads-up..... I guess I might wait until another time to revisit the Roxy -- even if it really is a nice venue. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  2. I had 11 pints of Black Velvet (1/2 Woodchuck Cider, 1/2 Guinness) in me before I blacked out on St. Patty's Day (made it home, tho). And apparently I had a conversation with Crommy -- or so she says. I sure as hell didn't know which way was up...... Oh, and sorry for being a square, but where _is_ the meetup? ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  3. I've found 3 of my last 4 jobs through Monster.com; however, it looks to be more like a headhunter-type site now than in previous years. Here are some other decent techie job sites: http://www.dice.com http://www.nynma.org/jobs/ http://www.computerjobs.com http://www.techiegold.com ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. 4. I've been told I look like Cartmen.... only taller and skinny. With glasses. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  5. I did a lookup on Limewire for tracks by Van Helden.... he looks like he remixes a lot of standard commercial tracks. Has anybody seen him recently? I ask cuz I'd be up for going to see him at the Roxy in April, if only he spins the type of stuff I'm looking for (trance, psytrance, prog-house).... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. 6. 58% -- "Congrats! Yer a happy and well adjusted hetero". ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  7. Saw Nick in Amsterdam last week -- he was definitely quality stuff. I'll be there..... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  8. Yeah, totally off-topic, but I didn't know where else to go..... I have a spare ATI Radeon video card (AGP-only) that my company gave to me. It's a great card and I'd love to use it, but I don't have an AGP slot in my box. Anywho, I'm still in need of a video card and was wondering if any of ya'll (or yer respective acquaintences) would like to trade a card for it. Lemme know..... tx! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  9. I saw Nick last week in Amsterdam -- he was AWESOME! I'll definitely be there........ ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  10. I dunno whether PCs or Macs have more / better software for what yer doing, so I'll stay out of that. I personally prefer PCs in general........ That being said -- any modern AMD-based systems (Athlon, Thunderbird) are bound to be priced more competitively than Intel-based machines. Also, don't be fooled by the whole Pentium4 marketing blitz -- it's actually slower than the Pentium3, at identical Mhz speeds. Several sites have benchmarked systems, and in all cases a top-shelf 1.2Ghz AMD Thunderbird system will beat out a 1.5Ghz Intel P4-based system. I'm pretty sure Gateway has some decent AMD systems..... not sure if Dell has any yet. Definitely get at least 256mb of RAM, especially if you plan on running Windows 2000 (PC). 128mb might be fine if yer running Windows NT4, but 256mb seems to be the new baseline. You probably won't need any fancy graphic cards -- a Riva TNT2 should be enough to play games and do whatever else might come your way. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. 11. If you like buffalo-type foods (wings, chicken, shrimp, etc), try out Frank's Red Hot. It's my favorite hot sauce..... it's hot like Tabasco, but it actually has taste to it. Besides that, I gotta say Dick's Last Resort has some of the best buffalo chicken strips on the face of the planet. Or at least the one in Denver, CO, does...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  12. Sounds like it could be fun..... I found out that my new job starts Monday, instead of today, so I have some free time once again. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  13. Back briefly just to say hi..... finally found a new job, got a new computer at home and now I'm ready to rock and roll in Amsterdam with a few of my "homies", several of whom are CNYC. Time to push my immune system to the max -- death to the brain cells! Talk to ya'z next Thursday...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 14. Yes, this is (somewhat) related to clubbing. Anywho -- I've decided that I need to get some new dress shoes for work, now that the whole Dot-Com, wear-jeans-and-sneakers-to-work fad is going down the shytter. However, dress shoes are my least favorite accessory -- I'd rather have a few pair that I can wear anywhere. So the question is -- what sort of shoes might be comfy to wear to a club (dancing and such), but also stylish enough to fit into a corporate and/or business-casual environment? Bonus question: where in midtown could I find such shoes? Any advice from ya'll stylin' mofos would be greatly appreciated...... thanks in advance! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 21. May I approach you and drink from the fountain of your fashion knowledge, master? Sounds good to me..... sometimes I trip all over my cargos, which can be annoying -- even if they are as comfy as anything I've worn to date. In any case, I look forward to the UFO modeling..... not to mention Tiesto. Btw, does anybody have the timeslots listed? Or a better way of putting this -- should I show up at opening, or what time would make sense? ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  22. Yeah, that was one of the first tracks I ever heard by Oakey.... good shizty-shiznat. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  23. I've never had a problem getting in wearing sneakers -- in fact, I've never gone clubbing with anything but sneakers. I'd say the only iffy article of clothing might be jeans.... but I've never seen anybody get rejected cuz of dress code. Cya there..... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  24. What exactly _are_ UFOs, anyway? Pardon the question, but I've never been much in the way of fashionably inclined..... Oh, and as for this tripe: I almost think it's worth it, EZ -- take a hit or two, and watch as CNYC descends en masse to rend him limb from limb. I know I'd be going straight for the nuts and eyes, myself -- nothing says "don't mess with me" like a swift kick to the jimmy and/or irreversable blindness. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
  25. Well, you best know I'll be there..... I haven't decided upon an outfit yet, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't involve cargo pants this time. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." AIM: vvRMR , EMAIL: vejita1975@hotmail.com
