  1. I don't about you kats in NYC but Danny in Toronto was great. I was in SYSTEM expecting a few things: 1- by 2am the crowd was going to go to half mass 2- Howells would be entertaining but his music was going to be like his Nubreed CD 3 - Average type crowd Well...I was wrong in all cases. The crowd was great and the place stayed full all night (usually with SYSTEM when Mark Scaife is done his set everyone leaves). Howells kicked some serious ass and took names. His tracks were hard and loud, with some great tribal beats. I couldn't stop dancing all night....neither could Howells!!! He was spinning forever (most DJs do 2 - 3 hours tops in Toronto). I finally gave up and went how around the 6am area....I think!!! ------------------
  2. Hey Furny...we are from Toronto. Industry did close down awhile ago. The people that live in the area of the club complained to city council about the noise, thus they were shut down...at least that's the rumor. As for other clubs...we like SYSTEM (it has become excellent again in the last 6 months. The promoters have been getting some of the big guns in there...Howells, Warren, etc.), TURBO is good too (also some of the bigger DJs...Cox, Emerson, etc.). Both clubs are set up with seperate rooms with seperate music. The Guvernment is ok but only if there is someone worth seeing there...otherwise it's like a trip to Exit. I have been to Plastique once for Seb Fontaine...club set up was ok but the crowd is to 905 (Bridge and Tunnel) for me. Element is great...loungey and they bring in some great local and outside DJs. Nasa is great...local DJs only and the music is awesome...the only thing is it's very small and very university bar liked....but def. worth the trip. ------------------
  3. No problem.....are you from Toronto??? If so....are you going to Danny Howells tonight at SYSTEM??? ------------------
  4. Well.....how do you explain PVD (a Saturday at Warehouse), Jimmy Van M (a Friday at SYSTEM), Steve Lawler (although he did ELEMENT on a Thursday), Danny Howells (tonight at SYSTEM) and there are many more to come. It stinks...oh well....I guess we will just have to live with the stench!!! ------------------

  15. I have Oakie's live set from Australia on tape...a friend got it off Napster awhile ago, burnt a CD and made me a tape! Great set but a few too many vocals. I use it to go to the gym. I like the Robert Miles remix, Delirium remix and the Garbage remix...those are the only vocals I enjoyed...but the beats are def. there!!! ------------------
  16. It is so annoying....Toronto gets Paul Oakenfold on Wednesday April 11 2001....a damn weekday!!! This city is whacked....how am I to be expected to do 4 o'clock mornings when I have to be at my desk by 7:30am??? Oh f**king well....I have done it before and I guess I will continue to do it until I drop!!! ------------------
  17. I have been listening to Keoki for years (have yet to hear him live). His a whack job...music is fast and hard. I think he is pretty good. When I listen to his stuff at work people just look blankly at me as if I am out of my mind for listening to him!!! ------------------

  22. I have made it too the boarderline once. All the people that were with me can confirm. It was July last year for S&D...my first S&D ever. I was having a great roll and I was with 4 of the best guys in the world. I know for sure it was "Breeder - Tyrantanic" that was fucking with me. It started with the goosebumps, this wave of warm right through me and the little beads of sweat (this is the moment in time that Roby realized that I do sweat after all). I could feel the music (yes I am a crack head BUTBUTBUT I could really feel the music). All of a sudden my knees were shaking, my breathing had increased and I was feeling that overwhelming feeling...I was on the brink! So, being as involved in this moment as I was, I blurted it out to everyone that I felt like I was going to have an orgasim. It was an awesome feeling!!! Even to this day when I hear that track....I get goosebumps. I have never heard it live again!!! ------------------
  23. This is an oldie but a goodie! 1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either - just leave me the hell alone! 2. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fan belt and a flat tire. 3. It's always darkest before dawn. So if you're going to take your neighbor's newspaper, that's the time to do it. 4. Don't be irreplaceable; if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted. 5. No one is listening until you make a mistake. 6. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else. 7. Never test the depth of the water with both feet. 8. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others. 9. It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help. 10. If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments. 11. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away. And you have their shoes. 12. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you. 13. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit by a canal & drink beer all day. 14. If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it. 15. Don't squat with your spurs on. 16. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. 17. If you drink, don't park; accidents cause people. 18. Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windscreen. 19. Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. 20. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. 21. Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance. 22. A closed mouth gathers no foot. 23. Duct tape is like the Force; it has a light side & a dark side, and it holds the universe together. 24. There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works. 25. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your mouth is moving. 26. Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. 27. Never miss a good chance to shut up. ------------------
  24. First, I would call my parents and brother to tell them I love them. I would tell PORN he means the absolute world to me. Since it would take too long to get everyone I know and love together (seeing as it's only 30 mins. and I have loved ones in Canada and the U.S.), I would get all those that are physically close to me to meet me in Queen's Park, grab a portable CD player, grab my Communicate CD, spark up some fatties, share them with everyone and thank everyone for meeting me in my finally minutes. All the while that I am doing these things, I am holding PORN's hand until I drift away!!! Call me a big sap if need be!!! ------------------
  25. Analysts say it will most likely be 50 bps. and will only happen at the next meeting and no sooner. Furthermore, there are analysts out there that think it will be 75 bps. but there is only a 1/3 chance 75 bps. will actually happen at the next meeting! Just my Canadian 2 cents worth! ------------------
