  1. Gabe - you should definitely go!! It'll be fun and trust me, you'll be dancing. Although I've never seen you otherwise... Sunday, April 10th @ CIELO Renaissance presents Dave Seaman & Luke Chable This party is for his Renaissance presents Dave Seaman & Luke Chable - The Therapy Sessions Volume 2. This is also Luke Chable's US debut! He hails from Melbourne, Australia and is a well-known producer whose tracks you've most definitely heard from Sasha, Sander, Pete Tong etc. He is also responsible for Lo-Step 'Burma' on Sasha's 'Involver' album. As well as numerous tracks on Yoshitoshi, Bedrock and Positiva. He's definitely one to watch! On a side note: in early 2004 Sasha delivered a 30-minute radio mix that was almost entirely comprised of Chable remix and productions, verbally justifying his tracklist by way of a compliment to the quality of Luke’s recent work. I haven't heard this but I'm sure its floating around somewhere... So, save the date!
  2. Hernan will also be playing on Tuesday night @ SPIN with Australia's INFUSION (live). They're a 3-man live band that will knock your socks off and keep you dancing. 6. Plexi Holiday Party :: UNKLE ‘Reign’ Record Release Party [Global Underground] Emerging from UNKLE’s highly acclaimed album Never, Never, Land comes the enigmatic new single, ‘Reign’. UNKLE’s James Lavelle and Richard File have teamed up with the legendary Ian Brown of the Stone Roses to create a massively emotional, string laden masterpiece. Global Underground's EXCLUSIVE U.S. 12†release of ‘Reign’ is a set of breathtaking and exceptionally eclectic remixes from some of America’s most innovative and respected producers. While all of the remixes utilize Ian Brown’s chilling vocal, each gives the track its own unique twist. Whether it’s the syncopated Def Jux swagger of the RJD2 mix, THREE A.M.’s (of Rabbit In The Moon remix fame) acid-tech-house romp, Morgan Geist’s (of Metro Area) disco-funk slow burner of Beat Pharmacy’s (Francois K’s protégé) bubbly, dubby bin-shaker - this is a piece of vinyl that will be on every discerning DJ’s decks for some time to come. Music by: THREE & STEVE PORTER Monday, December 13th NA 246 West 14th Street 21+, 11pm DJ THREE :: Drawing accolades for his remix work and original projects from peers and contemporaries as varied as Laurent Garnier, Doc Martin, Sasha, and Tyrant... DJ and Hallucination Limited A&R man Three has hit the ground running after his relocation to New York earlier this year. With two projects for Global Underground - a stellar radio edit of UNKLE's ‘Safe In Mind’ (featuring Josh Homme of rock gods Queens Of The Stone Age) making waves on the modern rock radio format and his THREE A.M. remix of UNKLE featuring Ian Brown's ‘Reign’ about to drop, his stint as special guest DJ on Sasha's Involver Fall US Tour, and the re-launch of the Hallucination Limited label - 2005 stands to be a pivotal year for this influential American DJ. STEVE PORTER :: As one of the leading artists in the next generation of electronic music DJs/producers STEVE PORTER’s prolific productions have garnered the attention of the top ranks and are propelling him into America’s future star. He is now poised for his official coming out party with his debut artist album ‘Homegrown’ on FDS Recordings out in 2005. His DJ sets are known to his fans as “Porterhouse,†an eclectic range of funked-up house beats with a tech-edge and twisted jams induced by his own re-edits and mixes that uniquely characterize his sets. When Steve walks into a record store he examines every genre, picking the top gems from Disco to Techno to Trance and everything in between. The essence of Porterhouse brings back the energetic action to the dancefloor where the warm, funky basslines and cool percussion melt away any chin stroking pretensions and the resonating guitar and piano hooks lure you into an eternal groove. Porterhouse is party house. 7. “America’s favorite trance DJ†[uRB] CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE releases ten classic gems from the catalog of Hook Recordings for his second artist album to date, following the success of his recent debut ‘All or Nothing’. ‘UN-HOOKED: THE HOOK SESSIONS’ represents some of the finest moments spanning Christopher’s fruitful, but sometimes tumultuous recording career with Hook and seminal trance/techno co-producer Chris Cowie. HOOK RECORDINGS, an independent record label established in 1993 by seminal Scottish DJ/producer Chris Cowie, grew into one of the leading purveyors of electronic music labels specializing in trance and the up-tempo progressive realm. The label released over 200 records with such artists as Taylor, Sandra Collins, X-Cabs, Joshua Ryan, Fred Numf, Transa and Christopher Lawrence and these tracks went on to be supported by the world’s top DJs, including Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk. From his auspicious beginnings at Hook Recordings, Christopher went on to release numerous chart-topping singles and a slew of highly acclaimed mix CDs. He has gone on to earn the “Best DJ†award at the Dancestar Awards in 2002, and was just voted #7 DJ in DJ Magazine’s annual “Top 100†2004 poll (the highest ranking American DJ) and #5 in BPM Magazine’s “America’s Favorite DJ†poll for 2004. 8. Noted progressive house DJ/producer D:FUSE brings you ‘BEGIN’ – his debut artist album, featuring Motorcycle vocalist JES and twelve original tracks, plus two bonus remixes, including the singles "Everything With You" and "Living The Dream" –on System Recordings, November 2nd, 2004. The journey for ‘BEGIN’ started three years ago, taking D:FUSE from the outskirts of London to Los Angeles to Chicago and beyond, writing and recording with JES (of MOTORCYCLE fame), Blueletter (aka Grayarea), Pete Lorimer (aka 29 Palms), and others. With the release of his debut artist album, Texan native D:FUSE showcases his songwriting and production skills, revealing a breadth of varied material with styles ranging from Trance to Dub to Downtempo to Synth-Pop to Acoustic and Ambient with instrumentation on the album including; saxophone, piano, cello and acoustic guitar. “This album allowed me to write outside the strict confined of the dancefloor. And it was a very liberating experience. This album has allowed me to get back into song writing. I've been a lyricist all of my life and ‘Begin’ is all about moving away from instrumental tracks and moving more into heart-felt emotion through words." – D:FUSE The awesome combination of driving, progressive trance anthems like “The Other Side†and “A Light Less Brokenâ€, along with JES of MOTORCYCLE providing her hypnotic vocals on mesmerizing tunes like “Living the Dream,†“Everything With You,†and "Into Me" mark a stunning sonic experience. Plus, D:Fuse is fully embracing the artist album concept with his own vocals featured on tracks “Beginâ€, “Indecisionâ€, “Know It's Lateâ€, “Blue Skiesâ€, and “Letter to a Friendâ€. He is also an avid drummer since the early age of 13 years old, and adds his own rhythmic twist with live drumming and percussion on the Roland V-Drums and the Roland HPD 15 Handsonic throughout the album. The title track from Begin and "Into Me" were both prominently featured on MTV during the Season Finale of Road Rules:Extreme. The first single (Marteen & Jes's radio Mix) of "Everything With You" has already been in rotation at America's biggest FM dance station, KTU 103.5 FM in New York City. The club mix of EWY will also be featured on the upcoming Ministry of Sound compilation. Other tracks from the album have already been licensed worldwide. "Living the Dream" is featured on Paul Oakenfold's latest mix "Creamfields" on Thrive Records and the compilation "Ultra Trance 5" on Ultra Records as well as "Trance Anthems" on Water Music. "Living the Dream" (D:Fuse & Lorimer's Chill Version) is featured on "Perfecto Chills Vol. 2". Touring behind a steady stream of headlining club gigs that include and 4 DJ mix CDs released to date, D:FUSE’s global success as a DJ has been nothing short of astounding. This is INFUSION (live)… “Like nothing else in dance music at the moment†-M8 This summer has already been a whirlwind of festivals and touring for celebrated Australian electronic dance music act INFUSION. They’ve made the rounds at some of the biggest and best outdoor festivals in Europe, often as the only Australian band on a number of festival bills. These high profile gigs include the renowned Glastonbury Festival (UK) - recorded live for the BBC on the Radio 1 stage with the boys playing twice during the 3-day festival, alongside acts like Fat Boy Slim and Oasis. At the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Infusion shared the bill with David Bowie, N*E*R*D and Basement Jaxx and then at the Hultsfred Festival in Sweden, they ignited crowds along with Morrissey, The Pixies and Alicia Keys. INFUSION’s artist album (scheduled for a 2005 U.S. release) will not be the typical Infusion club sound. In their own words: “We’ve always seen the 12†as being written to work in a club environment while our aim with the album was to try and produce something that we can be proud of as a good piece of music. We’re opening ourselves up to new sounds and also drawing upon the music we’ve loved. And a lot of that is from the eighties. We’re bringing that through and developing our own interpretations. So sure there is a bit of an eighties sound but there is also a classical influence and some straight down the line rock that we love. 22. INFUSION Delivers Inaugural ESSENTIAL MIX of 2004 First broadcast January 4, 2004 Rebroadcast available: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/essentialmix/index.shtml Electronic dance music tastemaker Pete Tong invites “hot, live act†INFUSION from Australia to kick-off 2004 with the first Essential Mix of the new year on BBC’s Radio 1. This is not your typical display of talent featuring “the world’s best DJs on the world’s best turntables.†INFUSION provides a proper live set for which they are renown for - two hours of live jamming, recorded down in their Melbourne studio, fully improvised with no ProTools in sight. INFUSION has been making worldwide sonic waves in 2003. They recently signed to BMG Worldwide and collaborated with Junkie XL. They successfully completed two US tours, with additional dates in the UK, Japan, Europe, Ibiza and a roaring performance for 30,000 at Creamfields in Argentina. Their most recent single ‘Girls Can be Cruel’ on AudioTherapy (Feb 2004) has already proven to be a big tune as an Essential Selection favorite. Catch INFUSION at Winter Music Conference 2004 in Miami at the Ultra Music Festival and select gigs TBA. INFUSION are Jamie Stevens, Manuel Sharrad and Frank Xavier. www.INFUSION.net.au
