  1. Dont throw politics into music you ass munch or call me trance whiner. People like you condemned trance to death what? 4-5 years ago? Nowhere on this thread I posted that I would want more trance on WMC. You just have your head so far up your ass that you neglect to read what I wrote. And based on what acts like Ian Van Dahl or Lasgo? Stick to what you know, please. And what does WMC has to offer other than house? You are soo knowledgeable since you live there, enlighten me. And u missed the whole point I was making. I said it is DOMINATED by UK HOUSE. Granted it all started as UK gathering but didnt Ultra specifically stated a few years back that it is INTERNATIONAL dance community?
  2. Call me on my cell phone from there while I will be in Crobar. This should make an interesting combo and that way we get to hear both places!!!
  3. Yes in a hard beat!!! This is such a virgin territory. A true DJ can tear a place apart if he will not care about opinions. I've seen it happening. Sister Bliss came here once I beleive in Twilo and delivered a tribal set that I am sure would put the scare in a jungle. I mean the place was mental for all of her 5 hour set. And just because people are not familiar with them does not mean that djs are not good or they shouldnt come. Remember all these people started somewhere and noone knew them at one point either. So for them it wouldnt be the start from nothing. And Dj will come here. If you ask him he will. Dont go for djs that became rock stars, go for the talent and you will see. Jules was in NYC long before 1st time he did a Gatecrasher party in Limelight. You know what he said? Noone ever approached me to spin anywhere in NYC. I was coming here for years to shop for records!!!! IMAGINE THAT!! You will never know unless you try. And if you noticed I went out of MY way to name djs in the category where NYC stands in terms of music-progressive house/house.
  4. No1 is bashing JP!!! My god where the hell you get your ideas from? And Arc/Avalon doesnt have the best systems? Hmm I wonder what would the creators of Phazon would say (considering that it is the best producer of these kinds of systems) They powered places like Cream/Twilo/Spundae and numerous festivals across the globe. Come on. I was in SF on Marco V and guess what? When you are upstairs you cant even feel the beat. And when I was downstairs all the feeling of the bass and highs (which is what trance really about) is lost. You see I've been to enough places where my ear is trained (not to sound conceited) to HEAR. And sorry SF (been there numerous times ever since it became SF) but it just DOES NOT CUT IT!!! Listen just listen to the soundsystems. Hear how clean they are in Arc and Avalon and they are not even at 50% power.
  5. Dont listen to these people. They are just pissed that JP wont be in SF anymore. I guess JP was such a part of SF that every1 thought that they will tear a building down together with JP when all this is over.
  6. Wrong. I think that was the best thing that SF ever came up with. Granted there should be a strong ressie, but NO do NOT stick one DJ to feel up the whole weekend. Once again DIVERSITY is the KEY. Than we are arguing how come none of this stuff gets played on the radio and blah blah blah. That's all connected. Even Cream with Oakie as a headlining ressie they still had other talent coming in. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? Fucking SPEED has better system than SF does. Dude you gotta pass me the shit you smoking because it DEFINATELY makes hearing much better. In order of beauties of soundsystems just for you Tekno: Arc Spirit Avalon Crobar Speed Even Sullivan Room is great compared to that.
  7. No1 was discouraging it. Just opinions here. I much rather prefer WEMF (World Electronic Music Festival) Granted this is not as fabulous as WMC is but far better stretched and far better representation of different kinds of music. And I think someone mentioned it before here that WMC was about networking and bringing new stuff in. Now it seems it is more to make another $$$. Tuche
  8. Except the possibility of 1 am closures. Just when things are starting to look up ever since Tunnel and Twilo closed, politicians dream up another screw to put in into our fun machine.
  9. Apperently you are rich. But uhm for what would you go there? For the usual djs you get to see here? Cheaper? Or for the underage drinkers on a spring break?
  10. Would have to incline towards Sasha/Diggers in Crobar. DEF not Black
  11. Agree but not limit it to house only. Be creative and diverse like Made Events always was. And change the soundsystem.
  12. That is all fine and dendy. But how come we always get the same people? And I am recognizing the skillz of Eric Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Danny Howells, DT, and all others. They are cream of the crop of house/progressive sounds. But BUT there are TONS of other famous and really good djs that either never been to NYC or been here so long ago that no1 remembers. For example Humate-one of the most mysterious djs from Superstition label in Germany. Amazing tracks were put out by him consistently throughout the years and played by the likes of Oakie to Diggers. Trememendous live sets with build ups that send crowds HIGH. NEVER BEEN TO USA Taucher-a one man show. If you ever see him spin live he is doing everything behind the decks: from spinning to acrobatics. Unreal live sets, track selections, build-ups. Been here only ONCE in Webster Hall. I mean I am sure Talla would now allow him to mix 3!!!! out of 17 Techno Clubs. Union Jack-whoever heard his tracks would sure remember them. But did anyone ever hear a live set by him? Probably only few. Yet he was proclaimed as one of the best artists on Platipus record. Oliver Lieb (L.S.G.)-I dont think he needs introduction. Some of you might say that he is more techno, but beleive me he has plenty of things to say about progressive and even trance. And he was here in...SOUND FACTORY. So these are just a few to name. What you think? :shades2
  13. Hey dont steal my avatar. I was looking for this for ages man....I got it about 3-4 years ago on some message board.
  14. Yeah. I heard Acosta few times and he was good about 3 times out of what I heard him. First time he ever did NYC in Roxy with Tall Paul. 2nd time when he was with ATB on Trance Nation America release tour and 3rd time when he was spinning in Amazura ballroom. Otherwise he does spin "twat" trance, which is a big surprise considering that it is Hard Trance and he is gay. I guess not everyone is Tony De Vitt...
  15. "YO" I personally think THAT HOUSE sucks...but I dont go around saying that every1 who listens to house is fat and ugly (and beleive me there are plenty of those). And if you want to expend your horizons you should have went to Marco V or Rank 1 or Cosmic Gate that is coming. Otherwise shut the fuck up about something you dont know (by your own admission) anything about. And there is a scene you just so blind that you cant even see it if it hit you over the head with a freaking asteroid!!!
  16. So you go to the other room. And honestly if you dont really like it how come you went to see her "number" of times? And no drugs are NOT necessary to enjoy the beats. Not everyone is on it you know.

Judging from their website they are touring Poland and Eastern Europe.
  18. Went there for New Years. Dirty Vegas surprised the hell out of me. Great decor, really beautiful crowd, amazing sound system. The food was good, drinks were nice. I dont know why would anyone complain about it. Also do not think that the place will not pick up. I think sometime in March or april they will have a goa party, which should be interesting considering all the visuals they have. Oh yeah staff was EXTREMELY nice, including security, bartenders, and restaurant. Had a blast.
  19. I really dont get how one can criticize the whole genre of music!!! Dont like it dont listen to it. And ESPECIALLY do not criticize based on ONE SET you heard!!!
  20. See you there!! I wish she would have brought another Tidy Girl...Or some of the Tidy Boys for that matter...And maybe Frantik and Nukleuz ressies.... LOL I know I am getting ahead of myself
