Well now qw shouldn't generalize. Yes, there are black people who like to go to the beach and get tan, blacks of all shades!!!! I myself am light skinned. I'm not fair but i get pretty pale IMO during winter months and I like to tan because I turn a nice golden brown. Maybe b/c you're from Phili and you're not near the ocean, you find that blacks don't go out to get tan on purpose. I dunno. I grew up in 20 mins from Jones Beach. I've been going there since I was a little kid and we always travelled to warm, sunny places on summer breaks, so getting a tan each summer was inevitable. Mine are clueless. My mom didn't even know I drank until I was a senior in college! She may expect that I smoked pot b/c when I was a jr. in college my mom called me up when I was really baked and our conversation made NO sense whatsoever!!! She tried to get it out of me by telling me that she and my dad smoked back in the day but it didn't work. As for now, they have no clue. I never go out clubbing from my house, so they don't see what I wear, they know what time I go out, they don't know what time I get back in, they don't see me ghostly pale post-club face b/c I always leave from my friend's house. When I come home tired, they just think it's b/c I was out late but they don't know where I've been. When they ask where I went, I always say the same reply, "the City". Well, he sounds too damn cute!!! BE CAREFUL!!! All of that cuddling crap is what gets us girls in trouble. We fall too hard for it. Have you talked to him about any of this or have you both assumed that you're just going to be hooking up and that's it, no dating, no commitment, nada?
