  4. If you can't bypass it with "safe mode", your fizzucked:D How did you "acquire" this laptop anyway? Hmmm?? There's a couple of options... 1. Reformat, lose everything, enjoy a fresh new machine.. 2. If you need the data on the hard drive (what are you up to, anyway?) take out the hard drive and see if someone can extract stuff off of it.

  11. I used bway.net for six years (for dialup and telnet) and they were good people... My advice to you techies out there is to set up a linux machine and use that as a cable/dsl router instead of one of the little Netgear or Linksys routers. This way your other computers on your network are invisible to the outside world. Then, if it ever comes down to getting your box confiscated, all you gotta do is hand over your cheap old linux box (in my case a PII/266). There's nothing on its hard drive!

  14. here's a tip... you don't really need all the Fujifilm software installed. I have a Finepix 4700 and I found the only thing you need is the USB driver installed (not the viewer or any of the other things). When you use it this way, all your computer does is recognize it as another drive (i.e. C, D, E, etc.) so when you open your Explorer window it will say something like "Removable Disk (E)". Then you can just drag them to your favorite other folder to store them. PM me if you have more questions...
  15. no can do...I have an early flight to So Fla tomorrow morning. Have fun!
