yeah he rocked the bloody house-- I arrived maddd early and it was pretty empty but then outta nowhere this flood of catholic school girls, angels and nurses came in Carl Cox was amazing--technically and musically on point...Some highlights for me were Sunshine-filterheadz, that Flash Gordon remix, that Eminem remix, and who could forget those 3 classics in like a 20 min span--Doomsnight, Smoke Machine and REVOLUTION - I don't think I've ever laughed so hard chillin with many of the CP peoples. Since it was Roninmess' bday I was dead set on gettin him shitfaced. He arrived around 1. By 130=Mission Accomplished. Roninmess finally lived up to his name-- he was a Ronin - MESS. But we had the greatest time. Then Bob G (the man) is like, lets go meet carl, yeah okay. We go in the booth and we get to meet carl, roninpic got a pic with him which im sure you'll be seeing in his sig soon enuff. From being in the booth with Carl, you can just feel the energy this guy gives off, he truely loves the music and seems to enjoy spinning more than any DJ i've ever seen. Big shout to zeeker who repeatedly came by and told me and Mssabine that 1-that was carl fuckin cox and 2-he was about to orgasm. Thanks for the info buddy. no drama here. I did mention how the system sucks, but i focused my review more on what we able to accomplish and how we performed as opposed to putting pictures on the net and showing people how a channel didnt work. And it is NOT standard to have the mixer inbetween the tables for house music. Last I checked, every booth I've spun in that had a rane or urei had it lowered on a Trapezoid type of set up. For hip hop, yes, mixer between the tables and usually the tables turned sideways for easy scratching. SF, exit, roxy, arc, ministry of sound, the list of clubs that have the mixer lowered goes on and on and on and on. Go to Club Speed if u want a mixer between the tables Tiesto had the mixer inbetween the tables. Over the middle table (of the 3 tables on top) they placed a console with his special mixer. This was because they had time and notice to prepare for the guy. Honestly, the argument that they just shudda known the BBB needs a mixer in the middle is irrelevant. You know most of the powers that be do not know specifics such as that...and that goes for the powers at every night club. They knew BBB was a big name and he played house music. Thats all they needed to know. If he needed a special mixer, an effects box (which had all the same effects built into the mixer so i have no clue why he wanted that also) or anything else, some advance notice wudda done the trick. Thats all Im sayin. He was prolly pissed b/c it was so dead, the equipment mishap must've just been the icing on the cake for him i guess. He still rocked from the part that i heard tho. Mike Bugout

agreed. If BBB and his people had informed roxy about the need for this "special mixer" in advance rather than THE DAY BEFORE, maybe they would have had time to prepare the booth for him, but being that they got the request last minute, that was the best they could do. I understand that he scratches and we were even saying how he was gonna have trouble when i was opening that nite but its one thing if he had informed the roxy earlier. Then i could understand the bashing on the website. But to tell someone the day before u need a certain set up, with Steve Dash gone in Japan and no one to be able to set it up the way he needs, bashing the system is just silly. I was never a fan of DJ's bashing the equipment anyway. Plus, I've seen dj's cut shit up with a knob mixer. Is it more difficult, yes. But if they can do it, im sure BBB cudda.

heres my take... We expected him to come on at 12 so waiting that extra hour got me a lil annoyed...especially when his opener plays SOUTHERN SUN (not tiesto's mix but still)....ughhh.... Comes on at one with some dirty tech---busts out with Shed My Skin and went from there....Im not gonna go into detail but bottom line...he was much better at roxy. Much Better. Now thats not to say he was bad. His performace at nation would prolly blow away most DJ's regardless, but by his standards i thought it was a lil ehh. U could tell by time IRA come on tiesto was wrecked...a few slips were noticable to me, but shit happens. I still enjoyed myself very much. Nation is a phat venue and def deserves to be on that top 20 list which it made. Crowd was really into it. I have no clue why he didnt give an encore. That i didnt like. ID # 27 was Body Shock - Break This I actually stood right next to the kid who kept that list. Didnt meet him or anything but he kept writing em down. Thats dedication. I got a tiesto poster and he signed it for me which was cool. He signed my friends passport cuz thats all he had. It looks like he's been to the country of Tiesto.
