  1. Wash with Clean & Clear liquid soap (use wash cloth in morning to exfoliate, hands at night) Firming (with collagen, elastin, Q-10, etc.)moisturizer for day and alpha/beta hydroxy anti-aging cream at night (I figure it can't hurt to start young) I constantly switch moisturizers, but I'm going to try Philosophy's Hope in a Jar next and see if I like that. Right now I use Ponds and Swiss St. Ives and I've tried Nivea, Oil of Olay, Neutrogena, etc.
  2. What are a few of your favorite products that you buy over and over again? A few of mine are: Redken Rewind Hair Paste - I can scrunch it into wet hair to keep my curls from getting frizzy and smooth it on straightened hair to keep it from getting curly again, plus it's so forgiving - if you accidentally put too much on, your hair won't get greasy. Smith's Rosebud Salve - I will never buy a tube of chapstick again after using this stuff. It smells so good too (like roses.) Nude/Tannish/Brownish Lip Glosses - it doesn't matter what brand, I've got a ton in all different shades - I love lip gloss in a neutral color. Wow, I sound like these companies should be paying me to promote their products!
  3. I don't know about tanning all year round - that sounds like it might catch up to you pretty quickly (leathery skin, wrinkles, age spots, cancer, etc.) Don't they say that the beds are worse than the sun?
  4. I know, that's why when I first replied, I made it clear that I didn't think that you were a creepy guy at all. I was just trying to guess at and explain why some girls act like this towards strangers.
  5. Got it. I don't know what to tell you. Like I said before (even though it's not fair) some women have just conditioned themselves to be like this for various reasons - b/c they aren't single, b/c they're looking out for their safety, etc. I know it's hard to understand, but there are a lot of scary people out there and if it means acting like a total bitch to someone to protect myself, I'd rather do that than risk being harmed (remember my thread about the guy who tried to introduce himself to me by sneaking up behind me in a parking garage?) I may be taking this topic a little far/off course though, so who knows?!
  6. Not that you are guilty of this by any means, but if I see a group of guys (or even 1 creepy one) starting to stare at me, I try not to look at them. I stare straight ahead and walk with my head high. I don't think men will ever understand how uncomfortable a woman can get when they are being leered at and ogled. It's nice to know that you're found attractive, but so many men are not aware that slobbering over a female is repulsive and demeaning. I know that that's not really what you were talking about, but I've trained myself to always look straight ahead when I'm by myself. Creep! Just kidding!
  7. Mmm - I love Hoegarden. My other favorite Belgian beer is Delerium Tremors. Mostly, I'm satisfied with Yuengling or Sierra Nevada though.
  8. You stole my thread idea! J/K. Yes, I saw that special last night and except for the oxy's, what was the big deal?! Who doesn't enjoy the occassional Xanex, Percoset or Valium with their nightcap? In all honesty though, he knows 1st hand what getting into drugs and alcohol did to his father, so maybe that's why it was made into such a big deal.
  9. Evan - Where are those pictures from and is it me or is her friend laying out in a bra and panties?
  10. This story is a total concoction: http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/crybaby.htm
  11. Now that the weather is FINALLY nice, how many of you have been soaking up the sun? What do you all think about tanning beds and sunbathing? I know that it is bad for you, but I will never be convinced that pale is in (or that models on the runway and in photo shhots are sporting fake tans from creams and bronzers alone.) I go tanning (in a bed) for a few sessions right before my pool opens, but I always cover my face. When I lay out, I always use sunscreen on my face and usually the rest of my body is fine. I don't know, maybe one day it'll get old, but summer is all about having a healthy glow and why not get it from the sun? What do you think - is it dangerous, not worth the risk of premature aging and skin cancer, etc? Or do you just want to fry?
  12. Got it - she made it sound like such a horrible thing, I thought she meant she was getting leered at and panhandled on the subway or something.
  13. Oh, see I drink like 5-10 drinks 2 nights a week (work hard and play hard.)
  14. Cutting drinking out of any diet will help you lose weight, but it's so hard (and unenjoyable) to do! If I could quit drinking for 2 months and continue to eat how I eat now, I could probably lose 10-15 pounds.
  15. http://www.thegangsofnewyork.com/ Quote from the website: The movie is a fictional drama loosely based on actual historical events and figures. I was referring to the all-out combat battles in the beginning of the movie and towards then end (before the Draft Riots) that apparantly took place in the middle of the town involving hundreds of people stabbing eachother and chopping off eachother's heads. The petty crime, political corruption, and slum conditions weren't at all unbelievable, but I felt that these battle scenes were a little over the top and ridiculous, especially since Scorsese was trying to effectively portray the time period.
  16. I thought Gangs of NY absolutely sucked - the acting was horrible (especially everybody's accents) and the premise of the movie was ridiculous. Had it been set in the Wild West, it would have been more believable, but New York (even though there was a lot of immigrants, gangs, etc.) was much more civilized during that time period and the lawlessness factor of the movie was a bit outlandish.
  17. I couldn't take feeling like that anymore, so I added carbs back in at breakfast (whole wheat/grain toast with natural peanut butter)and lunch (sandwich on whole wheat/grain bread) and I don't eat any with dinner. When you look at nutrition facts, everything has carbohydrates in it - fruits, veggie, dairy, etc., so it's impossible to completely rid your diet of them anyways.
  18. I don't get it - isn't it a good thing that people liked your outfit? Didn't that make you feel good and confident? Or did you get more perverted responses to it that made you feel uncomfortable? Explain please...
  19. I know - the thread is called HEALTHY recipes!
  20. I lasted all of 4 days on it - it made me feel very weak and tired and I had a dull headache the entire time too. You need carbohydrates - they give you energy. If you want to cut back, don't eat carbs at dinner and make sure that the ones you do eat are whole grain and hearty (pasta, bread, rice, etc.) Good luck!
  21. I read reviews on Amazon for both of these and they sound good too. Looks like I've got plenty of books on my list now. Thanks!
  22. Will do - thanks again!
  23. Thank you! Everything you guys suggested sounds good, hopefully the library will have some copies in when I go, since most of the books are new top sellers. Chula - I've read some Dean Kootz novels and enjoyed them, are Richard Laymon's along the same lines (thrillers?)
  24. I'm a big fan of marinated chicken or fish (any bottled sauce will do) with a veggie salad for dinner (especially in the summer.) You can make these 2 salads on a Monday night and they will keep well all week long. Sum Tam (Thai specialty): 8-10 carrots (shredded) 1/2 a container of cherry/grape tomatoes (halved) juice of a small lime 5-10 jalapeno peppers (depending on how hot you can stand your food) 3 large cloves of garlic 5 tbsp. asian fish sauce (more or less depending on your liking) Dice garlic and peppers, put in bowl and mash to release flavor; add shredded carrots and halved tomatoes; squeeze lime juice and add fish sauce. Stir well and refrigerate for a few hours to let flavor settle. Veggies in Balsamic Vinegrette (pretty basic): 1 tomato 1 cucumber 1 red onion 1 red pepper 1 yellow pepper 1 clove of garlic salt, pepper, basil & oregeno to taste olive oil balsamic vinegar Cut veggies into bite size pieces, mix together; mix dressing of vinegar and oil, add garlic, salt, pepper, basil and oregeno. Pour dressing over veggies, mix well and refrigerate a few hours to let flavor settle. Bon Appetit!
