  1. sorry, but i don't quite understand the fuss about space. just moved down from nyc, but i've been to miami (& space) several times before. who really cares if they have closing parties for 1 more year? do you go out of nostalgic reasons or to hear dt spin? they raided twilo and then shut the door that night. that was my second home for +2 years! i nearly had to go into therapy afterwards. -g.g
  2. i just moved down to south fl from manhattan and am a die-hard jets fans. now, i'm therefore pessimistic by nature, but the fish fans down here are on the verge of suicide after week 1! if mia can't beat vinny pick (or pick-less if he hands off all day long) after the disaster last week, then i'd really be worried. at least the jets have an excuse - offseason & chad's wrist. but hey - it's nyj vs mia. anything can happen. -g.g
  3. thanks for the info.....i don't think i can deal with the traffic after all. i'm coming from manhattan where i don't even need a car! if sobe and space are only a short ride away, i'll be ok. see ya down there, -g.g
  4. i'll be working out of plantation, fla starting next month & have a question about fort lauderdale. i hear the place is a poor man's south beach (only been once), but i need some feed-back on where to live. do i live in sobe and deal with the longer commute or do i settle for fort lauderdale? somewhere else? i realize it will cost more in south beach but i'll bite the bullet if i have to. -g.g
  5. 1/2 austrian, 1/2 american. actually am a duel citizen - have 2 passports which is kinda cool. -g.g
  6. english und deutsch et un peu francais aussi
  7. vienna, austria in da house! -g.g
  8. you can have girls/drinking in miami, too, but you can't get the music/vibe in cancun. i guess everyone should experience spring break in cancun at least once....the better times are in south beach for wmc, though. this year will be the 3rd in a row!!! -g.g
  9. i'm gonna train it, too.....got the urge to RAVE. i think the 4 or 5 stops up there. -g.g.
  10. complaints about pvd at exit? no surprise after my last exit experience (tiesto). i was not prepared to go through that again! it's really a shame that crowds/clubs keep people from going out. i do hope that you get to see these dj's in europe. it's a whole different experience.... g.g.
  11. open air dance festival on july 06 in gunzgen, switzerland (near bern). 17 hours non-stop with several tents each offering a different type of electronic music. for those trance lovers, tiesto, taucher, & talla are all scheduled on the decks. g.g.
  12. oh yeah, this is the spot to end a summer! brief synopsis of a week in ibiza as follows: first day: flights arrive in the early afternoon depending on your lay-over. check into the hotel, plan out which events you want to attend durinf the course of the week, & immediately start drinking. each subsequent day: go to dinner around 21:30 and then to a bar and/or your first club of the evening. change to a different club or keep partying at the original club until closing. afterwards, it's after - hours outside on the beach....raving and swimming until you pass out sometime in the afternoon (depending on the individual's constitution and what has been ingested during the course of the previous 24 hours to promote longevity). a few hours of sleep and then off to dinner again to repeat the cycle. if you love the club scene, it's really a must. i'm down again this summer - went in 2000 but could not make it last year. -g.g PS - you will be hurting when you get back to the states
  13. tokyo has a really diverse scene so it depends what you want. i was over there for 1 week in oct and had a great time. there are big-name dj's who come every so often.....i suggest 'yellow' if you like trance/techno. shibuya has more bars than clubs but lot's of variety! -g.g.
  14. i saw cattaneo live (at shadow lounge) in miami last wmc. his set was kinda dark as i remember in contrast to all the trance played that evening (oakie, talla, taucher). would agree with the comparison to diggers. -g.g.
  15. last time i saw pvd at space (w/carl cox in march), he spun for 6 hours as i remember. i guess that was an abberation. the problem with shorter sets that start early is that there is no chance to clear space - there were just too many people crowding the dance floor!!! anyway, perfect timing since i had to bounce out early.
  16. i don't know why space advertised 'extended' set - for those of us who remember twilo, pvd spun from 2 till closing. anyway, a typical pvd show. what's great about him is that you get a little bit of everything. i hadn't seen him in awhile....those old trance tracks brought back memories! space was too packed and since the set only lasted until 4:30, there wasn't too much chance to dance. I left after pvd waved goodbye to catch a flight back to nyc. overall, not the greatest pvd showing ever, but it was good to see him again. PS-am i the only one that felt the sound system sucked? way too much bass in the back that overpowered treble all night long???
  17. tek: the wait at the entrace for space won't be like twilo (oh how i miss those lines wrapping around 10th ave)....there's a much more laid-back crowd in miami. last year for the WMF, i think i had a 5 minute wait to get in to see pvd & carl cox. -g.g.
  18. i'll be coming down from nyc on the 26th....am planning to catch pvd on friday and then go right to the airport (flight back is 8:30 am on the 29th) been to space a couple of times....not too dressy as i recall -g.g.
