  1. In fact it says in the Koran that Jews and Christians are considered people of the book, as it's considered throughout mainstream Islam worldwide. The overwhelming majority or literate muslims (and anyone who knows a thing about islam) knows that all the christian and jewish prophets (including everyone in the bible, such as jesus) are considered by moslems to be part of their own religious traditions. They don't considered jesus to be the messiah but they consider him an extremely important prophet in their own religious tradition. You're blatanly lying now dusted. You don't know a fucking thing about Islam except what a few wankish extremists say. And your historical fact is completely one sided to the point of mythology. Much of what u say is true, much of it however is not. I'm not gonna go into details b/c u r not worth my effort.
  2. This sucka is mainly dj-centric like the 2nd disc of tipper's "sound off," right?
  3. Chris u think this is long? Well I'm sure u saw the last thread.
  4. sara walker, kswing, and shugga all spin breax and r probably the best in the genre, along with a couple guys.
  5. Y would u waste yer hard earned loot on this when u could c da stantons or hyper 4 alot less?
  6. Whan was 105 a dance station to begin with?
  7. I think you misunderstood me. I know the effect the war had on the city and I have a general idea of what it was like before that. But what I was saying was that despite its difficulties, it's already got one of the most vibrant nitelife scenes in the region, by repute anyway. Maybe the most so of any city in the Middle East outside Israel.
  8. My how far beirut has come since the war. Syrian influence aside. I hear it has some of the best nitelife in the middle east.
  9. I'm just bored of the load of wank these threads always become and sassa's on vacation. But carry on, since you will anyway.
  10. Wow I thought I was weird. Deb, is this another 1 of yer stalkers?
  11. but here's what I did last nite. Glad u all had fun too, and Maudy, I'm still workin on a housewarming gift 4 u. Peace. Icebreaka 2 @ Motion in Philly: The Review Well well well my 1st Philly warehouse breax rave. 1st Icey set likewise, and what a party. I arrived a bit late due to a hairstyling crisis my traveling companion was having. I missed the 1st half hour or so (the party started quite early @ 9PM) and the magnificent K-Swing was deckwreckin the warehouse. I've heard the KStormer on decent sound systems b4, namely @ the Fly here in NY, but never on a massive warehouse soundsystem in a huge DJ booth that was big enough it looked like an UFO. Not only was she flying the saucer down from heaven to outter space (as that song "descending from outter space to find another place" goes that was dropped in a breakbeat garridge set later in the nite by DC finest Smalls), but she was supplying the beats and synth cascades to give philly's best glowstick competition its primary momentum to sustain itself. Ok the crowd was REALLY young (someone told me it was a 17+ party) so @ 28.5 I was probably oldest person there, save Icey himself. But here was an nrg largely lacking from from clubs in nyc. This is not intended as a slight against my home city, but in the breax scene @ least, we don't match up. & philly's breax scene is so small as to almost be nonexistent, even compared to ours. But here was the regional queen deckmistress of mid-atlantic US breax pounding choons and crafting an opus in the element that she (and the rest of the cream of NY's breax crop) deserves to be blasting it on, in her hometown (well 1 of) for an appreciative, and knowledgeable audience. PLUR's not a dirty word in philly obviously, and while the scene isn't as developed as ny, let alone dc, the crowd was knowledgeable, could seriously dance (including breakdancing) and just went off the hook 4 the kmixmistress. And hers was only technically a warmup set! Ya right it was a warmup set!! Her sounds definitely vaired from solid doses of electro badass blips and beats to some pieces reminiscent of fla breax to a smattering of nu skool and progressive breax as well. As diverse a musical selection as I've heard. And I think my opinions on the talent pool may be shifting, I'd have to put her frankly as 1 of the top 5 here in NY, but even more than that, maybe in that same elite for midatlantic breax in general. She's a commander on the dex who takes no prisoners and insists u feel the music and the vibe of the party. The future is now and its kswing. Period. As is the party couldn't get better, it did and that was due to the man who splits the title for show stealer and stopper with the kslammer, DC's breakbeat garridge/fla breax rocker Smalls and his partner in crime, philly's finest, imri. This set was hard, funky, slammin and very stanton(as in da warriors, da soldiers, da muthaland!)-esque. This is a badass who outplayed my favorite jox the mighty BLIM @ the nation's premier club, Buzz just b4 new year's. And his set, deckskills, craftsmanship, and mixing were simply phenomenal. I mean how many DJs do u know who spin, scratch, sample, and drive a party the way DMC mixchamp and NY titan Wool does? Really book this man now and book him with the Stantons and any other breakbeat garridge or 2 step jock u can think of and do it now b4 its too late and he's booked solid from now 2 eternity. His new promodisc Smalls2002 is incredible, just like the mighty Kswing rocka's is. He and Imri for 2.5 solid incredible hours took this fete to another level and gave me the best time I've had clubbing in Philly hands down. What a party. And finally the headliner, fla's breax god took the dex and mixed a great set that really gave me a proper intro into where Fla and other breax r and r headed today 4 the last 90 mins of the set. Icey went on right around 12:30 and was funky (very a la fingerlickin, in fact a Plumps track was the 2nd thing he dropped) b4 he transitioned into a more electroish, and some harder bass heavy (though I wouldn't really call em nuskooly) sounds thereafter. Not knowing alot about flabreax, I'm not really the best one to trainspot or dissect his stylings like I would be able to for UK jox, but he was very good. I can't say I agree with the wanker who held up 2 middle fingaz 2 him from the dance floor right in front of me about 10 mins b4 the end, but he wasn't up to the level of his predecessors last nite in terms of mixing, deck skills, or track selection. Nonetheless, it was deeper than what he's done traditionally, and certainly represented a shift from the sound of breax I'm used 2 hearing myself. It was well worth the trip down 2 c him and provided a bit of an education to an area of breax I dunno much about. But the show belonged to Kswing and Smalls, with solid play from Imri as well. Shouts: Mark, Skip, Katie, Imri, and everyone who couldn't make it. U were missed. Peace.
  12. U know I would Joey, but too old and too poor. Although, considering tonite's gonna b the 4th straight nite I'm goin out...that might not b easy 2 prove. Though in my defense 2 of those parties were free and this isn't a typical week 4 me. There's so much goin on in my scene there's almost no time 4 much else now anyway, but since yer in it, yer quite young, and u have muchos amigos I'm sure you'll find partners in crime pretty fast.
  13. C I knew this'd be good. I had fun too @ my shindig, but I'm glad u had a great housewarming/celebration of yer staying here party, maudy. I'm sorry I couldn't make it cuz I obviously missed a great fete! Peace.
  14. LOL Y don't u come to my neighborhood where moslems, christians, and Jews all live peacefully and say bigotted crap like that here? That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard on the topic of religion. What kind of idiot r u? LOL I'll check this thread this weekend after I've gone clubbing tonite. U all should probably go out and clear yer heads too. These discussions have gone from the heated and somewhat intelligent to the bigotted, now to the just plain ludicrous. Maybe we should all appoint nycmuzik a moderator or something so we can actually have a dialogue, but I doubt that'll help. O well have a good weekend everyone and someone help sassa find a cheap flight, I'm fresh out of ideas myself. Salam, Shalom, Peace, Ahimsa.
  15. LOL @ malone. DUH! U said it yerself, I didn't even need to. I'm not exactly sure what dusted's point in posting it was, since as u said it's more racist garbage. And his subject heading about some new terrorist threat, and in conjunction with that a piece on mexico, seems odd to me. The only threat to American national security coming out of mexico I'm aware of is all the drugs we import from there. But if we didn't buy em, they wouldn't sell em. Of course I don't think much of pieces like that and if I ask "what's your point?" It should be obvious that I'm not seeing one in his post. It appeared as though he was making a connection between terrorism and mexico, which seems odd. It wouldn't be hard to make the further connection in some cases that the label "terrorist" is used in a racially biased manner on a regular basis here and abroad, such as the advocacy that many in law enforcement in this country are making for racial profiling of Arabs, Muslims, and south Asians, or their immigrant American families and descendants of said ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Btw, what exactly is "one of the left's chosen people?" U make me sound like a messianic figure or something.
  16. What exactly is your point? That mexico is a terrorist threat to the US?
  17. But that's just it. You don't argue with facts. I'm criticizing your whole use of what you call facts b/c many of them aren't facts. And those that you do use, you use to make arguments that are simply untrue. That's not name calling. It's pointing out what alot of us on here think is the truth.
  18. Your arrogant questioning of my knowledge shows your own shallow one-sidedness in regard to the conflict. The allusions you kept making on the other thread between the start of the conflict and the current so-called "PLO plot to destroy Israel" or however the hell you wanna phrase it, illustrated a fine example of right wing propoganda. Netanyahu called for the destruction of the PA tonite. In effect your use of information from his site says to me that you view it as legimitate. And the reason I cannot is b/c I am convinced for good reason (namely his 3 years in office of systematically stalling in the implementation of the Oslo accords, as well as statements like the one he made tonite) that he is not a credible source of information. Your allusions to the origins of the conflict don't make a convincing connection at all that this so-called "trojan horse," as tribal calls it, is based in fact whatsoever. The way you invoke history to make your arguments show a shallowness, and twisting of the truth that is typical of people who don't understand the palestinian side of the conflict whatsoever. That's the rambling I've been listening to from you and malone lately in particular. You don't have intellectual depth, you have a racist bias and paranoia that Israel's in some imminent danger when it is the party destroying peace and clearly out to destroy the Palestinian government. And as to my calling you a racist, I don't give a rat's ass if you shut up or not. I really don't. I just think you're ignorant. Not to mention bigoted and patronizing, not just to me, but to everyone on the centre-left or left on this issue. The FACTS as you call them don't support your side. That's why I call you a racist cuz it makes me sick to my stomach b/c I think that's wrong. I didn't grow up thinking hate was a good thing. Apparently you did, and you crazily think the Palestinian leadership does when the facts don't bear that out. 1988 was a complete historical watershed in this regard, the PA has been committed, as have most palestinians, ever since to a 2 state solution. Extremist rhetoric invoked by a section of the radical Palestinian elite is not sufficient proof to the contrary. And is simply a pretext for Israel to destroy the palestinian government and to disempower its people. So get over the fact that just b/c I think you are completely wrong and reject out hand your entire arguing style and the substance of your beliefs that I lack any understanding in this conflict. I concede you have some limited merit in the some of the points you make, but on balance I think you're wrong. And alot of people, who are not leftists like me reject much of what you say, just as they reject alot of what I do as well.
  19. Well drag him to the Stantons or hyper & call it even. And that goes 4 the rest of u 2.
  20. That's your rather ignorant assumption.
  21. Bummer dude. Hang in there. Something better'll come along.
