Just getting out of a staff meeting in Tysons Corner VA at citigroup when someone ran in and annouced the "accident" of an airplane hitting the first one..the rest be damned to those who did it. O had worked/trained at Morgan Stanley 71st floor a year previous and had a great presence of friends there...they were all luckier. My current roomates saw the second plane fly over their building (Citigroup Bldg..Big red umbrella) and had the horrible experience of looking out the window only to see people jumping. I can't imagine what they live with. As a side note, I remember, being of that part of the world and having numerous colleagues of the same origin, that we were fucked for as long as we could think because deep down we knew then and there it was too much of a coincidence and the bloody radicals had fucked us all who call that religion ours, again. We questioned our beliefs and how could possibly someone of the same faith act like that...we were by 10am resigned to believe that we were gonna be screwed in this country even tho being born and raised here as it were us. Not enough has been said about the greatness of the American people, wherever their roots are, to look at the facts as they are and not to screw all because of the few..we all feared for ourselves.....Thanks. $10 a drink, what are you looking at zagat or some shit to find bars? its so easy to find beers for 3-5$ and mixed 5-7$. Granted they are bars but there are a couple lounges mixed in too: The places I know in the village and soho and here are the lists: Village : Peculiar Pub (one the best beer selections), Red Lion, La Margarita, The place next door to peculiar pub, most of the bars on bleecker. Below houston aka soho Spring Lounge (great bar and cheap $3 drafts, 6 for mixed) Gatsby's (lounge in the back very cool place..new, $7 mixed) 24/8 (can't beat an english pub-lounge that plays massive attack! 4-6$) Puck Fair Double Happiness ($4 beers, $6 mixed) these places not too far from arc. I'm at a bar with my drinking buddy for which many a world cup drunken matches were seen. Beautiful woman, dancing by the juke box, playing her songs, two feet away from me. So, being around a bit, I am a believer that hip hop clubs are SIGNIFICANTLY more fun than electronica clubs. Fine its good to go out w/bunch of people and catch the latest thang at arc or centro or whateva...but roll out to a hip hop place w/a decent dj and the place is so much more f'ing fun...everyone is enjoying themselves... It seems the crowd is more chill and fun when they know the music thats playing whereas electronica places people go there because they believe they will have fun.... Leave your opinion..curious..........
