  14. dont know about mysteries (harry potter!!! actually very entertaining and you can kill the book in a coupla hours). but guy who wrote trainspotting has a new book coming, porno, irvine welsh has other good book. i like eco...foucault's pendulum, name of rose are the usual suspects. Altho my favorite is his satire of modern features, bunch of essays, called how to travel with salmon..usually hard to find but hilarious. milan kundera is really good, almost anything from him. gabriel garcia marquez, really good if haven't read 100 nites those are your usual suspects........i'm sure dean koontz, anne rice, grisham, crichton, and all those peeps will pop up later in this thread....
  15. yeah u of va.....he used to bartend down there...i was too late for that, my buddy used to have dmb serve drinks to him as well. Altho he still likes to pop in to the bar play with jazz quartet on random nites, bar is a little ways from campus so college crowd never goes there on weekdays....his pops is a prof. of music there and when dmb was starting the band he recommended the guitarist to him cuz he was a prodigy of his...that's why he is like 5 years younger then everyone.....i think he was only 17 when under table came out....... under the table and dreaming i think original release party was at phi-si's house and then our amphitheater..was there for all that!!! saw him play our new stadium last year...just not the same amt of fun in his concerts now..they are just an event...whereas beforehand dude was playing to make it! big difference. sorry for the little history lesson.......but ask anyone who went to the school btwn 93-98 and they'l tell ya stories.....including seeing dmb boink the hell outta a waitress from the top story window of the bar.....

    WANTED: Sugamomma

Why is that women get sugar, y'know from sugar daddies. I know of many women who go out to nice places saying "oh my night will be funded by some rich dude @this lounge/club," use them and leave them. If they are mutually attractive, a heavily funded relationship begins. Not why can't guys have it this way, w/sugarmommas? I want to go out and have some rich chic buy me drinks all nite dammit! The conundrums of life...fuck it.
  19. oh man can't wait t'get to tower!!!! Dave rocks, saw him start playing for $5 at my school every week, so much fun to watch him get blown up like this...doesn't his band have the biggest revenue generating tour of all time??? if its only joizey peeps who like DMB, i may need to spend more time w/them cuz them be some rich peeps!
  20. saw reign of fire this weekend....the dragons take over future london and world movie....it is what it is, a big action flick, which is great. But finally watched royal tennenbaums, what an absurd and hilarious movie!!!
  21. oh yeah their dl on nyc clubs scene from rolling stone (now ya understand why arc raised prices....rolling stone calls them one of the better parties in nyc): Depending on where exactly in New York you go out today, here's what you'll find: decked-out Indians who fill S.O.B.'s for Basement Bhangra (think Bollywood music with beats), euphoric Israeli tranceheads on psychedelics, strung-out rave kids devoted to aggressive drum-and-bass, refugees from the art scene crowding the electro-clash clubs in Williamsburg, gay black men dancing to husky-vocal house up in the Bronx, Latin clubs with live salsa bands, Prada-wearing hipsters drinking overpriced cocktails in hotel lobbies with famous DJs reduced to the role of Holiday Inn entertainers, and big Times Square clubs filled with outer-borough meatheads moving to Top Forty hip-hop hits. Some of those scenes are Ecstasy-driven, some are fueled by mushrooms and other psychedelics, almost all are coked-up, and since they happen in bars, people are drunk, too. Still, the sad truth is that all the big, legendary dance clubs are gone -- R.I.P. Twilo, Limelight, the Tunnel, Sound Factory -- all shuttered during former Mayor Rudy Giuliani's notorious crackdown. As a result, there's but a handful of places here with any sort of genuine global cachet: Arc and Club Shelter qualify, catering to older crowds dedicated to carrying on the way it used to be. They're joined by lots of Japanese and Brits -- pilgrims who fetishize the house music that started here twenty-five years ago. But if you ask any clubber in the world about New York, you'll hear: 1) "Body and Soul!" 2) "That sucks about Twilo." 3) "So whatever happened to the scene?" Look, New York set the standard, and that's why people come here from every nation: to hear the New York sound in New York. That's why this still has to be on any list of the world's great clubbing cities. DAVID PRINCE
  22. Just follow the link....world's best dj's, weird shit happened to them, and if they have had sex in the booth....good fun.. http://www.rollingstone.com/features/featuregen.asp?pid=911
  23. I am of the opinion that if you believe in attempting to grow yourself continously, try to be a better person and all that, each year will be more difficult than the last and that much more rewarding.
  24. Uno...life is sooo much simpler when single!
  25. Hey, most mechanics places like Jiffy Lube and places like that, as well as the mitsu dealerships, do things called pre-purchase inspection. They check everything, tires, engines, brakes, belts, a/c everything to tell you if it works and more importantly how long before they need to be replaced (hence you know how much $$ to spend and when). But also they check to see if the car was in a wreck or if there was body damage. If person doesn't agree to it f'em they have something to hide that will cost ya money down the road. also to get negotiation points goto www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com and type in the car and options and they will tell you what the price should be fairly accurately (they are the industry standard for pricing cars). Good Luck cuz that car seems awfully cheap for 1-2 years old......
