hey all, just to let you know (still waiting for jon and ramon to post!!!) I'll be playing @ Nerve this Saturday and Jazid on Sunday. Saturday, you can expect a bit of what I'll be doing at my upcoming residency. A housey, techy, clubby kind of vibe(basically, that means i won't be playing as hard as i do when i'm not in miami). And on Sunday, expect a nice little downtempo/deep house/deep tech vibe.

most notebooks nowadays are great for mobil digital audio work. i've done 2 remixes while on the road in europe on my little HP 800 Mhz machine (which is also my final scratch laptop). alienware is a great way to go. They are actually starting to do digital audio workstations as well, so they know what's up. their notebooks are a bit bulky. but i hear that they are starting to make some more compact notebooks. i think the most important thing is what digital audio card you're doing to be using. a lot of companies are making excellent digital sound cards for notebooks now. if you need any more help, please feel free to PM me.

New Order - The real hybrid of punk/rock and electronic music John Beltran - This man squeezes so much emotion out of a synthesizer. He's got the best chord progressions in the biz! Richie Hawtin - Both as a producer and as a DJ. Miami Bass - Taught me my drum programming skills. Paulo Coehlo - Ok, so he's a writer (of books, that is). But he's written some of those "changed my life" books Some of my favourite albums of all time: Depeche Mode - ENTIRE CATALOUGE (Mute/Reprise) John Beltran - Ten Days of Blue (Peacefrog) Autechre - Incunabua (Warp) FUSE (Richie Hawtin) - Dimension Intrusion (Plus 8/Warp) There's a ton more...but, this is all i can think of at the moment (i'm just glad there's a CP forum worth posting to this week!)

that's sad, considering it was never NOT techno's year. as techno producers and djs, we're not trying to take anything over. we're quite happy with the way things are for the most part. as for the kids who say that...well, kids will be kids... and ramon, you're wasting your breath on the saleenmaster. he's got his own take on things...but, i do like it when you use the "F" word. it's funny!
