I'm ready for it.....plus I think it puts a lot more quality to our nightlife...

One thing I can tell you.....none of the clubs open right now have the variable components that make a great club

quality DJ + Good looking girls + vibe

    IMO:

Space: Best DJs + very low on girls + OK vibe

Crobar: low in DJs + OK girls + OK vibe

Level: no DJs + no girls + no vibe

Spin: OK in DJs + low in girls + low in vibe

Lets see what happens with MAZE. Please reviews on Saturday so the ones that left town can now...:)

Usually if a club does "Ladies in free/girls 18+", it attracts only the trashy sluts from the suburbs there to be cockteases and get free drinks off of guys. Saleen, you'll like this one: put out or get out! Well, not quite so vulgar, but if a girl is there just to lead guys on, I'd rather not associate with her...nothing pisses me off more than a cocktease.

I'd much rather the club promote the music aspect, or the atmosphere...the girls who show up then are usually quite respectable...and better looking too...quality over quantity. Plus, they'll know a thing or two about the music, and that's a good thing. It's why the female population of the Miami CP board rocks. There's not an ugly one amongst them, and they can talk trash about DJs as good as the guys. You know who you are, girls, and if I had the money, I'd buy you all a round of drinks.

I'd rather be in a club with a good DJ, and 20 top-shelf girls, than in a club with a no-talent DJ, and 2000 suburban sluts there to get free drinks and lead guys on.

I agree w/u Pod........Space does all they are suppossed to do to bring the top DJs......but most people on this board have the same opinion.....where are the girls.....

I think it is a matter of direct PR.....not a matter of calling it an open invitation for girls to come.....as in Ladies in free/18+.....

Tough is to find Bin Laden....not to figure out how to get girls in the club the right way.......

If anything, they would open downtown. Majestic Properties has several warehouses on the market for just such an application, and I'm sure they and the other realtors have fielded requests from the likes of Twilo, Spundae, etc...Like I said, FTL will never bowl over Miami, it'll be a complement to it, like Seaside Heights is to New York. Miami people will go to FTL for laughs, and maybe a cheap night out...but most Miami people will stay in Miami, it's where they are most connected, and most comfortable. As for the Fort Lauderdaleites having more cash, yeah maybe so, (look at Weston), but they're the type to blow it all at sports bars and golf tournaments, not the sort to go out to a nightclub. And if they do go out, they go to Miami and hang out at Opium or Mynt. There's more $$$ in those joints than in 10 Lauderdale clubs. Sure, some of it's not legit, but it's $$$ all the same...

The Miami scene in general consists of pretentious assholes (Mynt, Nikki Beach), bling blingers (Level except on Saturdays), and crackheads (every club), but the positive sides are enough to keep me down there.

Again, Fort Lauderdale has to work extra hard to get me to come up, I may venture up for a fact-finding expedition, but to be a regular, it's gonna take something on the scale of a Space-duplicate with a similar lineup exclusive to that club to go up there. But if you live up there, more power to ya, it's gonna be a battle. You're fighting several factors including conservatism of the local populace, tradition-bound bar and club owners not wanting to upset the applecart, city leaders who see Las Olas and Riverwalk as being 'just fine', and not wanting to bring in the 'crazy element', and many others.

Couldn't the like of Spundae and/or Twilo buy one of the existing clubs in Lauderdale, pack them up with a real sound system and bring the talent known to them??? They would cater to the Lauderdale community, no competition in Lauderdale, and still no competition from the Miami mega-clubs.....'cause we know people from Miami wouldn't go on a regular basis.....and in this case could be viceversa..........

Imagine a Saturday with Deep Dish at Space, Timo Maas at Crobar and maybe a Danny tenaglia at a Twilo?? (I have no idea on exclusivity contracts...help Saleen351!!!)

What Lauderdale needs is a prestigeous club opening.....with experience....with contacts in the industry.....

I still think there is more people with money, that would go to a mega-club in Lauderdale than people in SOBE, where most of the ones with "money" are simply bluffing......... You know how you can tell??????.............look down to them........and look at their shoes........money buys shoes:D

Hint: If only in my dreams this happens, I would move to Aventura:D

Thought i wasn't going to see the game today because i had to go for dinner at ther girlfriends house so i was listening to it on the net when i noticed for the small sum of $3.99 i could watch it live on the computer and i wasn't so bad in fact i'll do it again

    Cheers!!!

Larsson must be one of the best forwards! I believe it is the 8th straight home win in Europe for the mighty Celtic......but careful 'cause Balaidos is a tough terrain to play at...good thing is Celtic didn't concede a goal at home.....

Maybe after 20+ yrs. finally Celtic will still be in Europe after Christmas!!:)

Would it work if a club such as......Twilo decided to venture Lauderdale?? Or Spundae??????

I'm just curious. Because it seems there is meat in that market...with more cash than down here nowadys.

The excitement of a big name club would attact people. And those clubs would have the pull to bring talent...

    But please.............don't shoot meeeeeeeeee........:hat:

    Leverkusen 1 - Barcelona 2

    Berbatov (L), Saviola (B), Overmars (B)

Saviola and Riquelme came in the second half. Two minutes later, Saviola to Riquelme, Riquelme to Saviola and goal. Riquelme missed a penalty kick. With two minutes left Overmars saved Riquelme.

    Valencia 1 - Ajax 1

Ibrahimovic in the 88th, Angulo in the 90th. Valencia saved his undefeated run at home in the Champions.

    Roma 1 - Arsenal 3

Cassano put Roma up. Henry's hat-trick destroyed Roma. Check the third goal from a free-kick.

    Forza Milan!!!

The only surprise I see is Valencia dropping two points at home...now they will need to get something when they visit Arsenal before the break. Angulo saved their @$$, because when Ajax scored I thought it was all over for them.

Riquleme and Saviola demonstrated today they have to play together since the start. But Romy missed the penalty kick...He had come in for Mendieta, who is the one in charge... I agree that Overmars saved Romy, cause had they tied, all the Catalan media would had blamed Romy for the result...now Barza are 7 of 7

Arsenal beat Roma 3-1...Real Madrid won at the Olimpico 4-0 in the previous round ...no surprise, Roma are really out of shape this year. But in March they will make things tuff for Valencia...

As to Inter... they are a solid team, Cuper's style. And some great talent to control a game and find the net with Crespo, Vieri and Recoba. BTW Recoba's goal was fabulous!!!!!

Should be a close one, but Valencia. The Champions will make it interesting in the way coaches will rotate their players.

Barcelona...they will focus in La Liga after December 10th...that should put them back on track... plus Riquelme is finally getting his time on the field... and that should make a difference.

Chelsea is a great team in all their lines. IMO, underachievers the past few years. Maybe this year they can surprise everyone...if they don't lose the easier points in their schedule...

You were right with Barza... seems they are going all out in the Champions.....it is like an obsession for Van Gaal by now....in his previous spell he had two Ligas and one Copa del Rey but no luck in Europe.

Valencia let us both down:( They better get their act together at Arsenal).....
