Myself personaly I download tracks here and there till I get the recording(CDs and vynal sound a hell of a lot better then mp3), I destroy my mp3 accountant every couple of months keeping rips from live broadcasts and stuff not available on mass market since the record company stopped the distribution and manufactoring. Another thing is that record companies rip off their artist where the only money is in publishing rights, touring, and merchandise. I read/heard somwhere(wish I could remember the source) that if an artist sells a million copies they make 50,000 and if they sell 100,000 they break even.(Numbers not exact mental lag but the numbers are something absurd like that). I know Offspring wanted to release their latest album for free as an mp3 off their site but the record company would not allow(shows who makes the green on that deal). The biggest problem is how music is distributed on CDs and that ones computer can burn CDs and rip the tracks off of them. If another format was a popular distribution method people could not easily transfer their CD collection to the computer there would not be the internet libraries. Personally as the listening format changes to the removable drive format of the PC/MAC of the home machine pirating will be alot harder. If SACD replaces the CD and the computers go to blue laser technology the home audio and computer mediums could not be exchangable. Also some good artists fall out of favor with their labels and losing marketing budget and do not receive airplay. If people are not informed of the artists presence and their material and when it comes out consumers will be clueless to know that it can be purchased. Also there are companies that make software that facilitates pirating such as 3-2-1 and their software program that allows users to rip movies right off the DVD(btw that is already making its way into the supreme court). In the end the mp3(or the future mpeg 4) is phase that can be solved with watermarking on the SACDs or DVD-As and by having a format different for removable Data on the computer to that is being used for music. Also make the equpment to interface these too expensive as shit to keep it out of the general publics hands. If not the problem will escalate. Record companies are a mess in more ways then one and will differently need to change their business structure and how they operate. Also future artists can help by negotiating their contracts better and shop around too. Thats my opinion, but think technology can help fixed the pirating as it has facilitated it. :hat2: DBH

I went to a good number in September and October of last year. However with the close of the re-load party at Tanja(now reserved I believe) not much else going on. However ZBeatcamp is the only drum and bass crew that can through a party right. For example still ivid about the blasphemeny of the party last night I attended. Went and saw Universal Project in Fort Lauderdale. The headliners had some hot tunage for sure. But anyways the promoters chose a venue that closed at fuckin 2 in the morning whut the fuck. To further make it worse the talent had about an hour to spin from 1 till close. Not mention this party started at 10 and had more then 8 djs on the bill most of which spin on a thursday night weekly anyway, come on let the talent play (also this was UNiverslas Projects first appearance in South Florida.) Further more I hear home stereos that sounded bettter then this place a drum and bass show where the system had no bass. Pretty much a group of friends that get together and hire some talent to headline that they cvan play before to make themselves look good. If this was about the scene you would have one opener followed by the headliner to play as long as they wanted with a closer possibly if the headliner ran short. Very pissed at this joke of a party. Further more if you question their promoting they get defensive nd say "you throw a party" showing that they seriously do not care about their work or the scene only their fuckin huge ass egos that make up for their lack of talent. SHit promoting is a fuckin business and needs to be done right. Also I am not of fan of local MCs doing their shit over an international act want an MC then hire a good MC to over top of the mad tunes to not kill the energy. In closing of this disorganized rambling the only DnB parties that I have seen down right have been put on by Beatcamp and it is ashame that their reload night had to close(showed up every week). To me WMC brings the best DnB events to this area. Some of the DnB promoters need to grow up and figure out how to promote(would do it myself except for lack of capital) and see it as a business not a way to caddle their friends egos. But am definitely looking forward to the Beatcamp 5th anniversary and hopefully they bring back a weekly at the beach. :hat2: DBH

I do not believe in capital punishment, a government should observe the laws it places upon its people. Also from a fiscal stand point incareration for life is cheaper then death(not what one will expect surprised me at first too, but I have seen the numbers). It is also a way to eliminate minorities and the poor from society. It is also ironic that America is the only civialized/developed western country with capital punishment, all devloped countries in Europe have removed it. Worst part with capital punishment is that if someone wrongly sentenced is pt to death, that family does not have any retribution for that death except for an apology.

Not sure about thursdays usually not a successful night for anything worth going to since Big DJ in little club closed. Friday nights I will say Spin or Space for the music and Crobar if you want to go some where just to be seen. Saturday the 11th Danny Tenaglia will be at Space but being from Jersey might see him alot at his weekly Arc nights. Sundays no idea usually have to work and get caught up for school. Hey, I have only eard this song twice and am trying to figure out what it is. I cannot remember the lyrics exactly but has very distinct opening that i find humorus in a twisted sort of way. The intro of the song is accapella and talks about a guy trying to save a whore by selling off his possessions and eventually ends up on the street and runs into the whore while a bum. Personally your reason for the stength of analog is does not take into account for the limitations of a speakers range and the range of human hearing. With that considered anaolg produces stuff we do not or could never hear in the first place thus does not make a difference if we produced or not. Anyways I will put my NAD CD player up against your turntables anyday but that would be biased since people could hear the noise to associate it with analog. Oh thats right analog is noiser then digital.

Say all the stuff about over tones but if you can hear above 20 kHz which is impossible the resolution differences between digital and analog cannot be perceived digital goes out to 22.05 kHz according to Nyquist at a 44.1 sampling rate. I know my shit I can design an A/D and a D/A if required you are looking at Digital vs Analog debate on a strictly audiophile type basis in which most people cannot hear the difference as musch as you say you can. I have a taken numerous A/B test in relation to subjects like this and similar and it is really really hard to tell the difference between the two even knowing what to pick up on. Unless your ears can out perform the resolution of the digital system you cannot tell.

I use a digital synth and it sounds awsome, but when dealing with something that requires precision and keeping tight values digital is more stable and digital will sound comparable to anaolg in the not so different future. humans do not hear analogously we hear is discreat packets of time which is proved with the pysch acoustic phenomenon of pre masking. I heard anaolg sound systems die because they were over heating that does not happen with digital. also digital components are a lot more power efficient. Also anaolg has this reputation of sounding better. But if you compare a 1000 dollar turntable to 1000 CD player(they do exist) you will hardly be able to tell the difference, comparing a good turn table to you shitty disc man that is another story but then not comparing the same grade of equipment. Sorry to burst your bubble but digital will replace analog and anyways speaker drivers will always be analog. Another point to be made mention is that if converting from anaolg to digital and vice versa one needs to invest in good convertors and this may be the area where digital may lack on analog but regardless a good digital vs a good analog no one could really tell the difference.

Yo man get with it analog is DEAD it is passe and noisy I will take any good digital system over analog. For multiple reasons a digital system is much less upkeep and do not have to worry about over heating the components. the only thing anaolg is better at is handling distortion if some dumb fuck sound engineer over drives the system this is where digital craps out but noone should drive their amplifiers that hard anyways. On another point the end output of the sound is the speaker which is by n far the weakest link in the whole sound reproduction chain. With really nice drivers clean crossovers and properly designed and position speakers can make a system. With speakers especially in Miami with the humidity the surrounds well deterioate away which will definitely weaken the sound, but by n large digital is always better then analog just for tolerance reasons and lack of electronic components drifting. Digital is the way to go and FUCK ANALOG.
