  1. the djs i mentioned were NEVER radio djs im talking bout clubs to audiences people who paid to go see them play there records and dance to the music they would select. While there was some discotheques in the late 50 early 60's it wasnt until FRANCIS GRASSO came on the scene and started mixing records in the club he was at and discovering new techniques which to mix them in. He would read the GROOVES of the records back then. Its pretty simple just read LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE, and LOVE SAVES THE DAY. If anything just remember kool herc in the 1971 was playing the same records that FRANCIS was and DAVID mancuso. So it is possible that things were happening at the same time but appealing to other people thru other ways. Now if you really wanna talk to people who were living thru all this and are still partying to this day and now people personally i suggest you bring up your question to DEEPHOUSEPAGE.COM cause those are serious people who have been partying since the 60s and are still going. Youd be suprise how many legenday dj and promoters both hip hop and house are on that page as well.
  2. Gonna be at show on the 22nd for LOUIE VEGA no doubt and then again in june for danny t.
  3. i wonder if you and i crossed paths remiloco on fri for willie. Was all over that room like always.
  4. Im not industry and your still not funny.
  5. yeah i was there as well best party since arc closed at a club for danny t, but not the best danny t has played at someplace other than a club since arc closed if ya get me.
  6. nah just makes me lucky to have been at disco to hear danny t when it wont be the madhouse that it will be when he plays there again.
  7. fuck just realized this is the same night as DJ PIERRE's party at TEMPLE, damn it.
  8. Do you guys really need an explanation or a histroy lesson.
  9. i remember last time danny t played at disco for only like 40 of us now that was great, not many people knew about it only certain ones hehe. Gonna avoid disco but check out show instead. Hopefully by then all the bad elements will be all partied out and tired leaving some room for show with the ass crowd (sigh). Dont even know what to say or comment.
  10. yo rage been reading your post on rhythmism and seems like you only got half the story correct. Dont wanna waste time arguing with you cause it seems like you only talk bout kool herc and 1971, while yes that is the beggging of hip hop culture THAT should not be disputed. But it is not the begging of the djing culture nor the house side of the culture. The beggings go back to the 60s with dj like francis grasso, steve dcquisto, david mancuso, doin so many innovation and creations, while simutaniously up in the bronx kool herc was doin his thing with the same records that were already beeing used in the 60s by the above djs name. While he may have done it for hip hop culture he was behind a few yrs from other pioneers.

  15. willie graff is an amazing dj had a great time hearing him last night. Most place around the meat packing district are not my style at all for sooooooooo many reasons. But with the talent that cielo brings in and the soundsytem it is one of my fave clubs in nyc along with sullivan room. Were you alone? I would offer to walk you in next time but sometimes that doesnt help all my peoples. And its a tough business the door at a location like that. Sorry to hear bout that. Next time shoot me a pm.
  16. DJ PIERRE: "When trendy people go around saying the club scene is dying, I say "Yeah, 'cause you're killing it." Cant wait for next week.

IN the summer spring theres like a shit load of parties that begin at 3, 4, 5, 6 pm and last thur the night. Keep in touch. House is always around 24/7 thank god.
  20. Im always SILVERBULL 24/7 at work at home on the train in the club in the deli on the street. Never conformed for anybody, always be yourself at all times and dont be fake. I work at a real estate office on weekends , and during the week it depends. Freelance dancer, working at a jewlery company when needed. Use to manage a hair salon for 4 yrs on the upper east side but needed a breal from that shit. Currently enjoy being a nightlife persona while pursuing whatever options come my way.
  21. CIELO, SULLIVAN ROOOM are my two fave places to party with spirit on certain nights getting my feet stomping to thier beats.
  22. goin out tonite and have some fights to watch tomorrow night and being that i have to be at work at 9am i cant be there. Unless he came on at like 3am then i could leave by 730 or so and have enough time to wash up at work and have had a good 4 hrs of tunes. Have fun everyone.
  23. no matter who is playing at table 50 i can never have a good time there sadly. Music could be great. people could be great, but something bout that rooms does me wrong. Hector was playing good and heard he was even more amazing after me and edwing left. We bounced over to le souk and had a great time. Techno downstairs an house upstairs constantly goin back n forth in that place was so much fun. Seeing some people i havent seen in a while, and tehn getting to hear this female dj who was simply amazing. Her name is Stefanie and shes part of the sister nyc crew. Def dope beats from her. Now i gotta look forward to the next hector party.
  24. Jimmi sky works over at dancetracks, and will be spinning in williamsburg on the 22nd
