  1. hey carmine no offense taken at all, and to respond to your post its simple the spirit of that era and party is alive and well and i experience it ONLY at certain parties like SHELTER sat nights/sun afternoon, Once a month at DEEP for the 718 sessions on sundays. On weds at CIELO for the ROOTS party with LOUIE VEGA and KEVIN HEDGE, Fri and sun at langstons in brooklyn for the TOGETHER IN SPIRIT party and the TEMPLE party. Seriouly if you ever have the time check out these parties and then NOTICE the crowd their that are all MIXED, GAY STRAIGHT, BLACK, WHITE, LATIN ASIAN,OLD, YOUNG. And all are there to dance and have fun and share there stories and know most of the songs. You wont see a dress code, you wont see people cracked out of their faces pasing out from drugs, you wont see fights, you wont see people being rude, you wont see people tryig to pick up other peole, etc. Imagine a party goin on for 10yrs with NO ALCOHOL, that would be great. Those parties are really all about MUSIC/DANCE. And all those parties have one thing in common, THE DJS ALL LEARN FROM THE GARAGE. And while yes drugs were part of the scene since the begging its the type of drugs that have chage and become more dangerous. Ask the other person who responded on this thread MAX how great the party and crowd was at SPIRIT for LARRY LEVANS bday party.
  2. Hes the special guest of the night for citizen kanes party their. Its gonna be great night where they will be filiming for the upcoming movie about the GALLERY club nicky owned and spun at from 1972-1978. Also there gonna show some footage that is already completed for the film. If you dont know NICKY is the one who showed both FRANKIE KNUCKLES and LARRY LEVAN how to mix. Nicky plays old school dance classics, funk, tribal, deep house, very minimal tech. Basically a dance music HISTROY LESSON, with none of the commercial stuff of course.
  3. they go everywhere, dont tell me you never knew that, how long you been going out man. Theres also alot more of them that dont roll in that pack, and just go to enjoy music and dance their ass of as well.
  4. nah oldtimer, aint bout you we cool now remember. Only now i gotta get ya to see some stuff lol.
  5. DR DOOM, nice name been a fan for yrs. Ayhow have a party on the 11th(APT with NICKY SIANO) and the 12th(DEEP- 718 SESSIONS 6pm) Plus i work on both those days, so right now im still undecided what to do. But KNowing how dumb i am i will be hering some hernan.
  6. yeah man, TEDD PATTERSON is no joke been trying to get some heads to hear him out more. When his monthly is in town i try my best to never miss it. Im glad you had fun ARG and we danced are ass off this weekend huh? fri hector and then sat tedd. TEDD is a very underated dj that some of ya should check out more often. DJS: LOLA and KEITH BLACKTONE were in the house enjying the sounds and dancing. DIGITAL EXTACY,THE MASK, and rudy in the house enjoying him for the firsttime as well. From whati saw you guys were enjoying yourself as much as us. Tedd walking onto the floor on certain moments tomake sure the sound was good is a sign of a true professional. First time i met him last yr he was like MAN YOU GO SOME GAS. I thought he meant that i was dancing all night but what he meant was that the look on my face suggested it cause i was holding mystomch rom drinking ot much red bull i got sick lol. Anyhow he closed the night out of nowhere with STEVIE WONDER- "ANOTHER STAR". Perfect way to end the night. Highlight ofthe night for me was hearing URBAN SOUL- "SHOW ME"(DAVID MORALES DEF MIX). "VIBAL" baby.
  7. some peeps on this board get on me for what i wear and yet im never dressed up nor get rejected at any door. HMMMMMMM.
  8. there about 5 parties that go on past 8am, weekly ya know. And its not only the drugs that have ruined things but also its the crowd. While at one point everyone was a fan but then decided they wanna try and be djs themselves so then there busy trying to make thing happen for themselves and dont have time to go out and support or also they could be spiinning that night as well. So its one less MUSIC HEAD in a party. Now think how many "DJS" are out there over the past 8 yrs or so and then you will see why the crowds haev change.
  9. dont forget early hip hop were getting the breaks from rock songs. And trance was born form techno whihc was born form house. So it is apples and oranges not limes and lemons.LOL.
  10. whats the fascination with strip clubs anyhow. Went to 4 when i was 19 and didnt really like them at all. Why pay to see a woman strip and give you a hard on. When you can just meet a woman and have sex it makes more sense to me. But for 7 yrs now the longest ive gone without sex is 2 months, so theres really no need for a strip club.
  11. His only production that comes to mind is PLANET SOUL- SET U FREE.

  17. some people still dont see it that way. Oh well.
  18. its 5 hrs b4 sullivan room, and i still havent recovered. What a night it was indeed, and nobody threw napkins in the air, like at another venue, thankfully.
