  1. yup i was at the opening night showing th one ater josell ramos did te iterviews. The crowd was jsut so into it singing screaming and even dancing. It was so much fun. I took my on again off again g/f and shes always hated clubs and music that her friends use to take her to (jersey stuff) but couldnt believe how great the 718 sessions party are and the body and soul crowd is. Shes now a fan of deephouse and understands what dancing does to some people. She didnt get why i liked it so much until after maestro.
  2. AWESOME movie i serisouly think everyone should watch it. And that crowd at the opening was intense.
  3. Oh yeah and why would someone laugh it at you? If they do they have no respect for history and shouldnt be taken serious.
  4. Look at my signature danielle on the right thats the neon sign the had outside. I obviously wasnt there but have done so much research on the history of NYC dance scene. 84 king street is the correct address and yes the building is still there. Unfortuntaley its being use by verizon for there repair trucks. I walked in there last month and was just trying to imagine what it was like being there. Rooms are massive and you cna only imagine. Ask david morales, danny tenaglia, louie vega, they all agre best place they have ever seen. CROWD,MUSIC,VIBE, AND experiecen. Like someone said MAESTRO is a very good documentary but no its not playing anymore at QUAD. But you can buy the dvd in afew months its gonna be a multi disc set. Also you can read thse books. LOVE SAVES THE DAY by TIM LAWRENCE. KEEP ON DANCING MY LIFE AND TIMES AT THE PARADISE GARAGE by MEL CHEREN. LARRY LEVAN LIVE AT THE LEGENDARY PARADISE GARAGE DOUBLE CD SET was recorded in 1979. If you go to 99 SPRING STREET home to the SOHO LOFT it is now some clothing store. Theres a few thigns to read on it i just dont know the links right now.
  5. naturally festivus is gonna be hot been talked about in other boards for weeks. As for after parties well lots of things goin on.
  6. july 18th DEEP DANNY KRIVIT thats all i mean. See how that crowd is compare to others in the city.
  7. i think ariel will come on around 2ish. And kahn its all about your signature indeed,
  8. yo donnie junior live is a totall different experience trust me. Im not big on his prodcutions lately but he really blow mymind away last month, Im goin to discotheque on july 9th for him wanna join me. Im straigh if your curious.
  9. If ya seen him open for dt then you know what he can do. Plus you get to hear some other NYC talent that i enjoy listening to and i think you will also. Heres the flyer yeah yeah i know im in it boohoo but im not a promoter so no biggie.
  10. just got home from chilling with some arc peoples. Man we brung it hard to sapphire for a few hrs lots of fun in tehre. Then decided to bring the hype to cielo and as always francios was awesome but the crowd is that BOTTLES AND MODELS crowd which is yucky so we left after 2 hrs back to sapphire and finshed with a slice of pizza. Lots of fun sapphire is sooo good on mon an tues.Dancers and music heads with much much less POSER/WALL MAGNETS. No partying on tues, wed its on LE SOUK or SHELTER, THURSDAY FILTER 14 , SUNDAY roof parrty bbq then ROXY FOR DANNY woohoo.
  11. you know whats funny i heard last night 2 mixes of digweed and i can honestly say i like what i heard more than mr sasha hehe. So yeah i will be in the house for that one just remind me disk.
  12. of course not disk o freak we are peeps. I know how you flow it was for the author of this thread. Sorry i shouldve qutoed.
  13. if only some of ya new what goes on on the dl sometimes your tune will change about dt. Anyhow see ya at roxy. ANd you cant compare carl cox and dannys style now. Cox is very fast tech house and energy music dt isnt all the time. So some of ya might confuseHYPER with better plese dont. ITs different. Hear carl cox sets from late 80s and early 90s a bit different than now. TO each thier own right have fun everybody on the 4th of july no matter what you do.
  14. Me and some friends will be there jsut thought it would be cool to meet some more people and dance till the sun comes up. HOUSE music will b coming thur teh speakers. If you wanna hear some techy sounds go to sullivan room for tronic treatment. Have fun either place.
  15. yo sc1 i dont thinki have been overl vocal bout hating sasha, os if i have LET METAKE IT BACK. i heard him at virgin and fgured yeah it is a total different experince then a club would be. But from what i gather his soud comes across mssive build ups and breakdowns. Not really my style. But im sure millions of people love that stuff. Anyhow next time he does come into tow i will check him out at a club. I do believe toreally judge a dj you need o hear hi or her 3 times at least to have a 100 percent opinion if its your style. Wanna hea my sound? WEDS- SHELTER/le souk, thursday FILTER 14 sunday ROXY. I'll be there.
  16. youve made a mistake hehe. Welcome aboard one weird messageboard.
  17. Someehow that sounds funny hehe. Yo housedog dont worry you wont be the only one on the floor supa dupa early. Im excited. Somehing tells me it will be much better than the last roxy fiasco. KIMMIE there i wont believe it until i see it.
  18. to clarify ive been clubbing since i was 16 that would be 7 yrs. But when your growing up in a room with 5,000 or more vinyl and like 2,000 cds worth of house thanks to your brother who raised me on this music since i was 9 yrs old you would know what i mean. Its been mine for so many yrs now since he got married the whole setup i use but im not a dj. I use to buy vinyl just to support the music and hear music when imanaged my hair salon but i havent bought anything in 1yr or so.My room is basically MUSIC and dvds, my bed and my computer. Music is a very important part of my life. Ive heard music change so much i never say CLUB SCENE i always mentioned MUSIC. Yeah im unemployed but isnt it great that i can afford to go everywhere without help from any parent hmmm. I havent heard a trance dj in some time now maybe 2 yrs. And i dont plan anytime soon, just my preference.
  19. basically to sum it up go to a 718 SESSION party on JULY 18TH at deep and then compare that crowd to lets sat any crowd youve been to. Then you will see what i mean.Like i said earlier i dont mean the whole race i mean club crowds thats all.
  20. avalon tends to cater for the techno/ trance crowd, which means techno/trance djs. Im only gonna suggest djs(NOT VENUES) who i like so if you see that their playing somewhere then give them a shot. Ive heard these djs live b4 so i know what there like at a club. Im not goin by cds/downloads/ live sets. LIVE at a club is a totally different experience. In no order: DANNY TENAGLIA, ROGER SANCHEZ, TODD TERRY, LIL LOUIE VEGA, DAVID MORALES, FRANCIOS K, JOE CLAUSELL, DANNY KRIVIT, TIMMY REGISFORD, FRANKIE FELICIANO, MARQUES WYATT, RICK CORBO, SANDER K, JUNIOR VASQUEZ, ERICK MORILLO, DANNY HOWELLS, SAEED AND PALASH, CHUS AND CEBALLOS, GLENN UNDERGROUND, DEEP DISH, TONY HUMPHRIES, ALEX FROM TOKYO, RUBEN TORO,HERNAN CATTENEO, DJ DISCIPLE, HEX HECTOR, SATOSHI TOMIIE, HECTOR ROMERO, MIGULE MIGS, VICTOR CALDERONE, FRANKIE KNUCKLES, DAVID MANCUSO, MELVIN MOORE, JOHN CREAMER, ADAM FREEMER, ANTRANIG, JUNIOR SANCHEZ, THAT KID CHRIS. Now those names are djs ive heard personally theres also alot more bigger names that i havent heard live but i hear great things about and assume there just as good. For example: MURK. Also there are so many great parties that go on during the week with NYC LOCAL guys that are worth checking out as well some local people bang it out sometimes better than world famous djs.. And i tend to like weekday parties sometimes better then weekend parties cause you deal with more music heads. But of course i love a big room experience still. Sorry for rambiling, im sure someone will get mad at this post. Hope you enjoy any of the djs i mentioned if anybody ever hears them play. Remember give a dj 2 or 3 tries live b4 you pass complete judgement.
  21. oh thats right the 11th is a busy day as well and i have to work after roger. Um not sure yet about howells depending on another situation. Yo hector romero back in town on the 20th or 21st not sure yet but its at filter will keep ya posted.
  22. Anybody down. Last 6 times i have heard him have been a total different experience but always enjoyable. Hes one of the few djs that i have yet to be dissapointed by a set.As always with crobar it will have its crowd, but hopefully some music heads will show up. See you guys there.
  23. holy crap im asking if the person knows, this way i give my opinion.Im not very good at suggesting trance parties but maybe i could help for some house parties thats all.
