In one of my girlfriends magazines theres a section on calculating one's BMI (body mass index). We went through the calculations last night and her numbers came out a little underweight, which is about right for her (~20 BMI, she weighs 105 and is 5'3") but mine came out as obese (~30 BMI, I weigh 205 and am 5'9") lol... I am at about 8% body fat and in pretty good shape, and I'm not really sure what this number means to me, if anything.... Are there different calculations for women than men? I wouldn't think so, but it is a women's magazine... the formula they gave was (using my numbers) 1. height in inches X height in inches (69 X 69 = 4761) 2. body weight X 703 (205 X 703 = 144115) divide 2 by 1 (144115 / 4761) = BMI (30.26....) Any info from the know all's around here? Thanks...
