  1. ...preferably one about the war, terrorism or the Israeli Palistinian conflict - and read it while listening to channel 3 on Winamp radio (3. D I G I T A L L Y - I M P O R T E D - European Trance, Techno, Hi-NRG... we can't define it! 96k).... Pay attention to the pictures the whole experience paints in your head, and how your feelings about a particular subject youre reading about become that much more amplified.
  2. the part where the author likened Saddam to Hitler is where I stopped reading.
  3. im interested, post up and lemme know!
  4. from a health and science website - Does drinking ice water burn calories? For anyone trying to lose weight, this question is an exciting one! If you simply want to know if your body burns calories warming up the water, the answer is yes. But if you want to know if drinking a lot of ice water can help you lose weight, or keep weight off, this "yes" needs to be qualified with some calculations. First of all, calories are case-sensitive. There are calories and then there are Calories. Calories with a big "c" are the ones used to describe the amount of energy contained in foods. A calorie with a little "c" is defined as the amount of energy it takes to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius. What most people think of as a Calorie is actually a kilo-calorie: It takes one Calorie to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water 1 degree Celsius. So when you drink a 140-Calorie can of cola, you are ingesting 140,000 calories. There is no cause for alarm, because the conversion applies across the board. When you burn 100 Calories jogging a mile, you are burning 100,000 calories. So, considering that the definition of a calorie is based on raising the temperature of water, it is safe to say that your body burns calories when it has to raise the temperature of ice water to your body temperature. And unless your urine is coming out ice cold, your body must be raising the temperature of the water. So calories are being burned. Let's figure out exactly what you're burning when you drink a 16-ounce (0.5 liter) glass of ice water: The temperature of ice water can be estimated at zero degrees Celsius. Body temperature can be estimated at 37 degrees Celsius. It takes 1 calorie to raise 1 gram (0.0352 ounces) of water 1 degree Celsius. There are 454.56 grams in 16 ounces of water. So in the case of a 16-ounce glass of ice water, your body must raise the temperature of 454.56 grams of water from zero to 37 degrees C. In doing so, your body burns 16,819 calories. But that's calories with a little "c." Your body only burns 17 Calories, and in the grand scheme of a 2,000-Calorie diet, that 17 isn't very significant. But let's say you adhere to the "eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day" nutritional recommendation. In 64 ounces of water, there are 1,818.24 grams. So to warm up all that water, in the course of a day, your body burns 67,275 calories, or 67 Calories. And over time, that 67 Calories a day adds up. So, while you definitely shouldn't depend on ice water consumption to replace exercise or a healthy diet, drinking cold water instead of warm water does, in fact, burn some extra Calories! it does burn calories, but shouldnt be relied on for weight loss...
  5. drinking cold/ice water helps you burn calories inherenently as well, not a lot on a case by case basis, but on a daily basis assuming you follow the '8 8 oz glasses of water a day' thought process, you'll start burning more calories just by adding cold water to your diet and nothing else. over a short amount of time the small amount of calories burned on a daily basis start becoming significant when added up it's something good to 'add' to an existing diet or training regimen, but nothing to rely on solely in order to 'lose weight' imo...
  6. but as far as leaking the stock 2g BOV leaks at 9 lbs, uncrushed. and the stock T25 runs outta steam at 15 psi.... venting to the atmosphere will not cause any a/f problems however (WITH an adjustable BOV, not stock), and is arguable (in some circles) that external venting is better for the car when you get to the higher boost ranges as you dont have X amount of compressed air being shoved back into a turbo that is trying to spin down and shed compressor speed and boost (albeit ever so quickly) between shifts. EDIT - and 'yeah what he said' - free up your exhaust and get a better turbo if youre worried about spooling quickly.. I have a 3" dp off of a Big 16G and I'm fully spooled around 3400 RPM's, definately up from the stock T-25's 2900 RPM's, but well worth it :D :D generally the faster you spool the more bottom end you'll have, and the slower you spool the more top end you'll have (referring to differences between smaller and bigger turbos, etc, not turbo 'problems'), although spooling in general just means how quickly your turbo takes to make full boost. ill sacrifice a bit of bottom end for top end anyday!
  7. the stock dsm 2nd gen junk plastic BOV leaks at 9 psi (they all do), i upgraded mine to a 1st gen BOV at first, which is good to around 20 psi before it leaks, and then to a Type S which is where I'm at now and should hold up to 30 lbs of boost (i run 23 lbs on the street) the Type S allows you to vent to atmosphere if you want too as it's adjustable unlike the stock BOV's...which gives you the sound everyone likes. also - for faster opening and closing of the valve you can attach a second hose from another boost source to the longer nipple on the backside of the unit helping it actuate quicker.... mine works like a champ
  8. yeah the car is a lot more fun esp at highway speeds and up, the T25 used to run out of steam real quick, but the 16G gives me a ton more pull on the top end
  9. who cares about soccer? it's only the biggest sport in the world. umm yeah, thats a fact. uneducated idiots - can't live with em, can't beat em down with a shovel..
  10. yeah ive got a wicked boost leak right now and no time to search it out, i cant hold more than 7 lbs at part throttle my best is 12.67 @ 108 with a crappy 2.2 60 ft on the motor, i havent run the NOS with the bigger 16G yet though hehe. the stock T25 on the bottle went 13.2 though
  11. jiggly arm fat! its funny a friend of mine the other day wouldnt put her arm out straight cuz she was worried about her 'arm fat' lol. she's a georgous girl too...
  12. well said, i dont use either although a lot of my friends do with no problems. one guy i know actually used to get strength back in his arm after an accident, and its worked wonders for him.
  13. im italian and lebanese as well and i have to say those guys are all pretty ghey... hairspray? cocoa butter? huh?

  16. last night, it's nice to turn on the TV and see something that portrays mans accomplishments, instead of his failures. I swear without sports we'd all go mad....
  17. my mother lost a ton of weight on Atkins, it seemed to work well for her..as far as drinking goes - i used to drink like a fish, then quit for a year after it got too expensive (and started gettin me in trouble, doh!).. I haven't noticed any difference in body weight or body fat from going full bore party animal to a dead stop (i have my body fat measured every 6 mos or so), so personally it didn't affect me much, if at all. I will say I feel a lot better though, and so does my bank account
  18. hehe the coolest team on earth, not to mention the richest, biggest and one of the best is - Manchester United. Beckham lost his mind when he left, and now Ronaldhino is gonna step in and bring us another Premier league title, along with Europe!!! My fav player on AC is Shevchenko, and although he had a terrible year he is still one of the best in football...
