a good friend is visiting sobe this weekend w/ his g/f and wanted to check out opium garden. anyone know if there is a guest list and who to contact?

also, i don't think any of the clubs that are there now would have been around then. some are in the same bulidings, but still different clubs. jerry's deli use to be the warsaw ballroom some time back opium garden use to amnesia prince owned a club called glam slam groove jet was of the best clubs around as far as drawing dj talent shadow lounge also drew in top dj's crobar was cameo theatre (i remember seeing rabbit in the moon- 1998) this is all just 6-10 years back. i'm not sure what was around 20 years ago but there must have still been a place to party. i would be interested to know how/ why the wmc actually started though

it WAS the 20th year for wmc. keep in mind it wasn't nearly the event/ week long party that it has become.

only ended up there once this wmc, and not by choice. nocturnal's event for monday (phuture) was moved to space. space has gone downhill. i can't say i wouldn't ever go again, but man old space/ patio was MAGIC. not even close to the same vibe.

whatever dickhead. then your stupid ass gets back to new jersey and has to file for bankruptcy cause you can't pay for all the shit you charged up on your credit cards. i'm all for livin' it up during vacation but you are way overboard.

there's more than a few reasonable hotels in south beach. rates were higher this year due to it being easter weekend. it was the most we paid for a hotel room in the nine years we've been down for wmc. one tip (does not always work) : check expedia, orbitz, etc. find a hotel and then book direct through the hotel instead of through a website. a few advantages: sometimes the rate is cheaper (it has been for me) you can request a nicer room and/ or a room w a better view (we got oceanfront) you pay AFTER you check out instead of months ahead of time we had to check out 1 night earlier with no problem and no penalty (we let them know only the night before) we had to be home earlier than planned, but this is also good if you get a shithole and can find a nicer hotel hope this helps you guys out and NO i can't tell you where we stayed!!!!!!!!!

overall, not the best wmc i've attended, but still a great time and great memories (as always) damian lazarus at space monday night was the highlight/ surprise of wmc for me ($20 entry and 3 free drink tickets from a city16 rep beacause the event moved from nocturnal which STILL wasn't open) danny howells at B.E.D. was another great night out ($12 entry) nikki beach was a blast. went around 7pm and there were people waiting but i got in fairly quickly WITHOUT paying anyone off (free entry) pool party at sagamore was also a blast (thursday) sorry to hear that some of you didn't have a great time. trust me, you can have fun on a budget, you just have to plan ahead. and of course all the big names will usually be expensive entry. it's the same in ibiza or anywhere else. wmc is still one of the best weeks of clubbing in the world. hope to see you back next year!

i plan my vacations around my music, so we're lucky enough to be in miami the whole week. we need to hit up hpc on a saturday when we get back, i will see to it that you both a have a good time. enjoy your time in miami
