i can't say i've witnessed it firsthand, but i've heard AVH doesn't take his live sets very seriously...drinks enough liquor in the booth where it affects his spinning, and supposedly he cares more about the groupie chicks than the music.... but i will never knock his production...the man as a producer is a genius....

i think the first dj's i heard in clubs were robbie tronco & other philly dj's at shampoo. but my first night out in nyc was at SF with luv & lodi on the decks...instantly fell in love with the "nyc sound". as far as cd's, i'd say Oakenfold's Tranceport & Perfecto Presents another World...still amazing to this day (though i despise the man now). my musical taste has evolved and expanded a lot since those days...everything from Exit Fridays to Shelter Saturdays at Vinyl....

i could never really get into timo maas myself...always thought he had a boring sound too...but he does have some good productions....he'd be good at a small venue like cielo...

just cause avalon normally brings in trance/prog dj's...and brings in that same type crowd...with the exception of felix da housecat... i'm not knocking it, i'd love to see avalon try to bring more true house dj's like AVH...

DT @ Spirit - def hitting this up again... armin @ spirit vs morillo @ crobar - tough choice but gotta go with morillo...this time i'll go after most of the crowd has left....

hehe relax bro i think he was kiddin about the racist thing...but i agree with everything else you said. he was terrible on stage at crobar and he was equally awful on the 2 sides album. but i love the other 3 winter session mixes...def showcases the "new" morillo sound...

but you gotta give props...theres some good dj's on the list...frankie bones, micro, josh wink, venom, d-fuse, scott henry....thats about as close to a rave as it gets anymore....my boys in philly are def gonna be at this...

how are they gonna fit all those dj's into timeslots, especially at a small club like shampoo? are they sticking some in the bathroom, some in the coat check area?

good point, theres always other options..but my friends went last year and did the flight--->8 hr layover--->flight--->train---->ferry, and it took them basically 24 hrs to get from nyc to ibiza....just b/c they were trying to save a couple hundred bucks. i'm paying the premium so i dont end up being a zombie before i even get there...

we waited a few months before booking our flights, but could not get a good deal through any of the discount airlines...going in July and leaving/coming back on a weekend also killed us...so we're paying $1250 roundtrip for airfare alone, flying via Iberia. we did however get a good deal on apts - $325 or so for 8 nights at Jet, we're cramming in 6 people...but it has a fridge, A/C, and a balcony - all the necessities...i read some reviews for Jet and they were like "Jet is awesome - but do not stay here if you have a family and want a quiet vacation..this place is 90% party kids"...so we know we picked the right place
