  1. Well, they'll both attract lots of tourists...
  2. It will be the sickest club eva! Like SF x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
  3. That's exactly what Pacha NYC will be; a tourist hotspot
  4. I kinda like that cold, industrial feel....not all that other BS they're talking about.
  5. I agree w/ you 100%. His "Everybody" residency at Crobar has been my favorite ongoing party for 2005. His residency will continue in 2006 as well. I really dig his mix of funky, progressive house beats, not to mention the fact that he uses the Pioneer DVJ-X1 to combine audio and visual content together. He has teamed up w/ some great openers such as Demi and Fanciulli. I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed at one of his parties. Also, his new CD w/ Lee Burridge is excellent. Can't wait for his first party of '06!
  6. What was really awesome was around 9am when the lights came on.......everybody thought the night was over, and then JP got on the decks and ripped it for another 8 hours
  7. Is that the best you've got bro? Well I guess I'll give you some credit for attempting to be funny anyways. What's even more pathetic though is that you have like 8 posts, and half of them have negative remarks about gays and Asians. The club scene is about embracing diversity. It's people like yourself that are a disgrace and contribute nothing positive at all to it.
  8. For all the bitches I might take home, I got the Johnson's Baby Powder and Cool Water Cologne
  9. Well when the dance scene here was thriving, the big clubs were more unique and original (e.g. Twilo, Tunnel, Limelight, USA, Palladium, etc.). You can't be a leader in the scene by putting chain style clubs all over the place....Crobar, Avalon, Pacha, and Spirit are not original concepts; they all originated elsewhere and exist elsewhere. If NYC wants to be the dance mecca it once was, they need to do something more interesting than using a concept that's already out there. They need to push the envelope a little bit and become more creative.
  10. ...It's just another big room club; nothing really new or innovative. Can't NYC come up w/ something fresh for a change, instead of opening clubs that originated in other places?
  11. Typical reply from a Sox fan...Farnsworth struck out 87 in 70 IP and only gave up 5 homers. He's better than anyone the Sox have in their pen. Good luck next year w/ Keith Foulke as your closer...LOL
  12. I can't wait to go and see all the guidos pumping their fists and doing the shuffle!
  13. LOL......I just saw the follow up pic
  14. nope; I like girls w/ natural good looks, not ones who wear tons of makeup and have fake tans, eyes, hair, nails, tits, etc...
  15. I don't see what the big deal is about DJs embracing new technology. I think it would be pretty stupid for them to ignore it, since CDs/laptops offer many more capabilities than a set of turntables do. Most big name DJs today have begun using CDs/laptops in addition to vinyl, while some have abandoned vinyl altogether. I don't really care what medium they use to bring the music...being a good DJ is more about playing good tracks and having good technical skills. If new technology allows them to mix better and do other kinds of cool things, then I'm all for it.
  16. Lawler party should be good; can't really say I'm too interested in the others
  17. The DJ mag poll is a popularity contest, and nothing more. Tiesto got the most votes the past couple years, so he got rated number one. Does that mean that he's the best DJ? No. It means that he's the most popular. The guy sells out clubs all over the world, so you've gotta give him credit for that. I don't even like trance, but this whole thread is really stupid. Try having a little bit more of an open mind, and realize that just b/c something isn't "underground" doesn't mean that it sucks. I think it's hilarious that when a DJ gets recognized for his/her hard work or produces a hit track, that a bunch of people start bitching that they sold out.
  18. Yeah; that and Glowbana were the best clubs in NYC history
  19. You mean the club in Montreal?
  20. Demi is one of my favorite DJs; heard him open for Sander K. @ Crobar in September and the crowd was really feeling it; he also opened for him on 11/18
  21. That's one of the worst tracks I've heard recently...
  22. He is an excellent DJ; too bad he's gonna have to compete against DT on the same night
