  1. Agreed. Why even bother going to a place like Crobar if you're gonna sit at a table for most of the night and drink? I could do the same thing at home...buy a few bottles, invite some people over, and turn on my stereo.
  2. Yep, Sander K. and Lee Burridge are coming out w/ a double CD set on Ultra which will be released later this month. It def. isn't one of those cheesy compilations, however. Can't wait till he's back in town on the 21st.
  3. Just breaking your balls. Guys like Boris and Tsettos do have their following; just not really my style.
  4. Do you think Boris and Tsettos are great DJs? I don't. Nor do I think DeVito is. Since it seems like you like untalented DJs, I figured you'd like DeVito also.
  5. Bet you like Skribble and Louie DeVito too...
  6. Maybe he's trying to reinvent himself. Probably not a bad idea since his usual boom boom sound is terrible and there's never a vibe at his parties. While he's at it, he should work on his technical skills since those are questionable at best. People assume that he's this great DJ b/c he draws crowds when he spins. Not really true though. Crobar basically made Boris who he is. They signed him on as a resident and through successful promoting, were able to establish a strong fan base for him. Has nothing to do with talent.
  7. Sounds good to me. I'll likely stop by sometime soon to check it out. Best of luck w/ the party Johnny.
  8. Go into your Program Files folder and copy/paste the folders you want onto the blank CD and burn it. Put the CD into your new comp., go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, then select Add Program from CD ROM and follow the directions.
  9. Ferry Corsten/Serge DeVant @ Crobar 10/7
  10. Lower E. Side (249 Eldridge btw. Houston/Stanton) Small room, deep house music, great dancers. Def. worth checking out tonight.
  11. P. Diddy will add a nice cheesy element to the club. While they're at it, why not sign up Louie DeVito as a resident?
  12. 10/22 Sander Kleinenberg/Nic Fanciulli @ Crobar
  13. I think that Crobar will still reign as the king of the megaclubs after Pacha opens. Crobar is already established, is well managed, and brings in excellent talent week in and week out (with the exception of Boris, but he still draws big crowds). With residents like Roger Sanchez, Sander Kleinenberg, and now Ferry Corsten, it seems like Pacha will have a tough time bringing in better talent on a consistent basis like Crobar does.
  14. Turkey for the girls, and turkey for the boys; My favorite kinda pants are courderoys.
  15. Can't believe this turned into a 3 pg. thread! LOL! Dress however you want, but at the very least I'd go w/ a nice t-shirt, jeans, and some fashionable sneakers/shoes. Anything less, and you might get tossed outta line. Sometimes I'll dress up, and sometimes I won't. Depends how I'm feeling that day. But I always like to look good, cause when you look good you feel good. Not really trying to impress anyone.
  16. Best way to learn is to buy the best decks, headphones, and mixer you can afford and practice a real lot. You can read a book to learn the basics of beatmatching and such, but no school is gonna be able to teach you how to become a great DJ. Besides, what really makes a great DJ is his/her ability to play music that people wanna hear and knowing when to drop the right tracks at the right times. In addition, you've gotta develop your own style that sets you apart from everyone else out there.
  17. Spirit has been struggling to establish an identity ever since it opened. When it first opened, they were bringing in great talent like Satoshi Tomiie, Hector Romero, and DJ Vibe just to name a few. Too bad that didn't last long. Soon afterwards, their Fri. night parties were 18+ cheesefests featuring the likes of Louie DeVito, Johnny Vicious, etc. JP parties were on Saturday, which brought in good numbers even though many don't like his crowd. Then they think that bringing in Avalon's management is gonna be a good idea...which made no sense since those crowds at Avalon were terrible. Just when you think it couldn't get much worse, they decide to have hip-hop on Saturday nights! WTF?! Whoever manages this place is retarded. Place is going downhill really fast. Hip hop parties are gonna bring in the worst possible crowds. Hope their security is ready for all the fights and other nonsense that will occur in there. Spirit needs to find one formula and stick with it rather than changing it every few months. If they got back their early promotion team and brought in good talent week in and week out like they used to, it would be great. Otherwise, it looks like it's going the way of Exit.
