  1. I haven't read the 4 pages on this thread, so I'm probably repeating some stuff. But if you're looking for a crowd w/ musicheads, you'll obviously wanna avoid the big rooms and stick to the small ones. Weekdays at the small clubs are usually your best bet. With that being said, you might wanna check out Cielo, Le Souk, Canal Room, Shelter, Table 50, and Sullivan Room.
  2. Maybe if you watched a few games this year instead of being glued to your computer chair and posting 18,881x on CP, you'd find that you actually liked it.
  3. Here's some of the new rules: Goalies will be limited in the size of equipment they can wear. Pads, gloves and blockers cannot exceed a specified length or width. The elimination of the two-line offside, like international hockey. A new format featuring a shootout if the game is still tied after five minutes of four-on-four overtime. Goal lines will be moved back two feet. The neutral zones will be reduced by four feet. The old tag-up offside rule is back. Players can leave the offensive zone to nullify a delayed offside call. Before, the play was instantly called dead. A zero tolerance approach to obstruction and interference
  4. It should be a landmark. How many other stadiums have hosted a team that couldn't win a championship for 86 straight years.
  5. What do you have against Vivacious? I've talked to him a few times and he's always been cool.
  6. 1. Deep Dish 2. Sander Kleinenberg 3. DT 4. Demi 5. Sasha
  7. I don't understand why Boris is as popular as he is. All his music is hard and monotonous, with no funk or soul. Sounds like you're hearing the same track all night.
  8. Boris sucks. Nothing but hard, senseless beats w/ no funk/soul whatsoever. You might think you're hearing the same track for 2 hours. Since Crobar was mentioned, you might wanna check out one of Sander Kleinenberg's Everybody parties that take place once a month there. Next one is on 9/2.
  9. My bad. The opening page of CP says that it's 8/20.... Guess they messed up on that one
  10. I don't think anyone will be going tonight. Esp. since that party is tomorrow night.....
  11. I just remembered; Danny Howells @ Spirit on 9/9
  12. What do you expect when you go there on a night when Boy George is spinning? Spirit is a cool club, but I'd prob. only go there for the Made parties. With that being said, Digweed on 9/2 is gonna be insane! Hawtin on 10/7 should be great as well.
  13. I happen to really like Crobar. They consistently bring in great talent, the management/security is good, and the venue itself is nice. I don't really care if the crowd isn't all music heads. No big room club ever will be. The people who just stand around and sip their martinis aren't gonna stop me from having a good time though. If you wanna dress up and go there, cool; if not, then their dress code is pretty relaxed. I've gone there in a nice t-shirt/jeans and never had any problems getting in. Just don't show up there looking like you just rolled outta bed and you should be fine. Yeah, it does get packed in there, esp. when the big name DJs are in town. I usually have a better time seeing someone like Sander K. who always brings it, and where you have some space to dance. Try going to see some lesser known talents sometime and you'll see the difference. Their sound system isn't spectacular, but it's not bad either. I guess the high ceilings make it tough to perfect the sound in there. Crobar is def. the best big room club in the city, but you have to accept it for what it is. If you're looking for a better vibe, w/ more music heads, then you'll need to go to a smaller venue like Cielo, Sully, etc. But if you're looking to hear some great DJs and be part of a huge crowd, Crobar is a good choice.
  14. You never heard a peep out of them during those 80 something years that they could never get the job done, but now, after their one championship during that time span, they never seem to shut up. BTW, your team will need a miracle to win in the playoffs w/ it's shoddy pitching.
  15. They were probably like, "Ooh, I'll bet if we make out, a bunch of guys will stare at us!" Sad
  16. Tank tops are encouraged at JP parties. In fact, if you wear no shirt at all, they'll probably let you cut the line.
  17. Damn, that sucks. Cause w/ all the rule changes going into effect for this year, there's gonna be a lot more offense and action. Should make for a very interesting season. Oh well, guess I'll just have to sign up in one of those random leagues where I don't really know anyone.
  18. To the guy on the right: 15 minutes in the tanning booth is all you really need
  19. College football is so much more exciting than pro football. Also, there's no players bitching about contracts and how they're gonna sit out, etc.
  20. Just wondering if there's any NHL fans here who would be interested in getting a league together.
  21. I wish P. Diddy would take a dirt nap
  22. whoever makes up these flyers really needs to hire someone to edit them....... DJ Cleveland (formaly) of SF?
