I don't hate on any DJs. But if I drop $25+ and hear a sub-par set, then you're damn right I'm gonna complain about it.

Although I've never heard BBB spin, I've heard lots of good things about him.

Boris isn't too popular on this board, so you'll probably get many negative responses. He plays lots of hard tribal stuff and has a similar style to JP if you're familiar w/ him. A lot of the stuff he plays sounds the same, so you might think you're hearing the same track for an hour.

Centro was on 45 W21st Probably a different place that you saw.

I'd be more inclined to go if it wasn't 18+ Think I'll wait for Sasha AND Digweed on 4/1

Party Monster is a horrible movie. Definately check out the book Clubland by Frank Owen though; Also, I remember seeing a documentary on A&E about Michael Alig and the Clubkids that was pretty interesting.

Although it is pretty unlikely that someone could die from ODing on ecstasy, it definately is possible. E increases heart rate and blood pressure, and if the girl had an unknown heart ailment or something like that, it could have contributed to her death. Also, who knows just what was in the E that she took? It could have had some other stuff mixed in with it.

Definately buy your tickets in advance and get to the club early to avoid waiting in a really long line. Not sure if they're available just yet, but keep checking around.

Judging by the above post, the quality of the crowd @ Spirit has just sunk to an all time low.

There's really no place around w/ that kind of atmosphere anymore. Clubs like Limelight and Tunnel were part of an era, one that we'll probably never see the likes of again. As hard as some may try, it's just not possible to recreate the past. After the closings of Twilo, Limelight, and SF, everything had to be toned down since clubs were under such tight scrutiny. Newer clubs began to cater more towards an upscale clientele rather than hardcore music lovers. Now clubs are more about VIP/bottle service, guestlists, and what kind of shoes you're wearing. So more than anything, the scene is just evolving, and that's ok if you ask me. The clubs are still there, the musical talent is still there, and the people who love the scene are still there, so what more could you really ask for? No one wants to see more clubs get shut down, so I guess we'll just have to accept the changes that have come about.

I'm definately gonna try and make it; Sander is one of my favorite DJs. Brad Copeland is gonna be the opener. He's a young DJ who has made quite a name for himself on the Canadian scene. Expect Sander to come on around 2 or so.

Don't get me wrong, Cosmic Gate is awesome......but why the hell are they playing @ Webster Hall of all places?!
