  1. Based on those I've heard this year....... 1. Nic Fanciulli 2. Darren Emerson (still playing his and James Lavelle's sets from Glastonbury) 3. Danny Howells 4. Steve Lawler 5. Erick Morillo (in Spain)
  2. Need to keep in touch with back home somehow - and no better way to get through Friday afternoons in the office............
  3. lol -sorry, Class = great in Brit speak.....
  4. sheer class...........perfect Friday afternoon pick me up!
  5. It's showing up as unavailable now - any chance you can put it up there again Stymie?
  6. Great stuff. I've not listened to Morillo's set yet, but heard him him in Puerto Banus (near Marbella - not made it to Ibiza this year either) at the end of July and he was superb. Much housier, and funkier than he plays over here at the moment. It's a shame that the US can't come up with a radio station as good as Radio 1.
  7. Don't know if it could be called a summer anthem yet, but love the newish x-press 2 track "give it".
  8. Do you really expect lots of questions/extra business with a condescending post like this?? I have a mortgage thanks very much, now go away.
  9. Pacha Ibiza is the best club I have been to, and the one in London isn't too shabby neither. I just hope if they do bring it here, they do the name justice and doesn't turn into a horrible big room space with poor djs.
  10. Just reminds me of junior school when we used to get the floor mats out to do our "breakdancing". Plus that Run DMC vs Jason Nevins video - or maybe Fat Boy Slim's "Praise You" would be more appropriate?? People back in the UK and everywhere else I have been clubbing don't seem to feel the need to "challenge" others to crap competitions when people are out trying to have a good time - so, yes you are quite correct, I do not understand and I quite frankly don't want to.........
  11. dance off - how old are you? 10? Don't know Silverbull, never met him. He says some interesting stuff on the board and some stuff that annoys me - but that's what a board like this is about - differing opinions.
  12. Just a shame the Roses let much of their potential go to waste. Unfortunately I was too young to see them live at their peak, but went to see them 3 times in the space of 2 weeks after they released the Second Coming and they still blew me away.
  13. Pearl Jam were shockingly bad - maybe some of their stuff was ok, but I didn't get to listen to it after hearing the woeful "Jeremy". Mine would have to include....... Stone Roses (greatest band ever, with one of the greatest guitarists of all time) Primal Scream (greatest album ever in Screamadelica) Happy Mondays (Shaun Ryder/Bez = Legends) Blur (better than Oasis imo as they experimented more) The Strokes (best of the new bunch)
  14. I didn't mind it the first time I heard it (though I was drunk). However it got very tired, very quickly indeed! Angello seems to be turning out some great remixes at the moment though, so doesn't surprise me that he has worked his magic on this.
  15. Although not a big fan of the Kelis version, there are a few good remixes out there. I remember Jon Carter playing one (maybe the X-PRESS 2 one?) at The End in London over a year ago and being shocked at how great it sounded. As for last night...... Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but definitely had a lot of fun. I thought the night took a while to get going, but around 3.30am it really took off. Disappointed that it finished bang on 6 though?? Crowd wasn't the worst I've experienced over here, but definitely not the best.
  16. Love Piano Track. Everybody - Martin Solveig is also quality, heard him at a Defected night at Pacha in London back in April - absolutely superb!
  17. And I think that is what surprised me about the mix. I listened to it whilst at work for some background music whilst playing with spreadsheets and was pleasantly surprised. As you say, definitely not a club mix.
  18. I just seem to see lots of negative posts from you (some of them justified of course) - but I can't remember ever seeing anything positive.
  19. Is there anything you actually DO like nmn??
  20. He's still doing it live though, and I guess that's what I appreciated about it. As I said on my initial post, I have never been the biggest fan, but really enjoyed this mix. What he's doing may not be djing in the truest sense of the term, but it is certainly a skill and definitely moving music forward. There was a short interview with Tong on his Friday night show with Sasha, and he was saying how much effort he had gone to in order to just get ready for his essential mix - interesting stuff indeed.
  21. Just wondered if anyone else had listened to this? I've never been a huge fan, but have to say I really enjoyed it. link below for anyone interested......... http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/essentialmix/index.shtml
  22. The 60 minutes thing is dated Oct 2000, when he was 16. The Times one dated Sept 2000 says he is 15, meaning that he wouldn't be 21 until Sept/Oct 2005.....
