  1. Well, the good news is you are alive and the better news is you didnt fuck yourself up too bad. Keep your head up. We all have shit luck streaks. Its how you handle the streak that defines who you are.
  2. I dont know enough about this example but a few questions came to mind. When and how did the US companies get control of the industries? My guess is they came in, hired local workers and pay the govt a share. Would Angola be able to accomplish this w/o outside help/investmen? My second thought is that they were incapable or lacked the technology to do what the American companies are doing. Is Angola better off w/ some money flowing in from outside sources mining there or would they be better off w/ no outside income and no mining(assuming they couldnt put together the technology/financing themselves? Im not debating this issue w/ you b/c Im not that familiar with the struggles of Angola(but did know it was located in Africa ) However, I think these are important points to consider when looking at the situation.
  3. And if your kids did see it, wouldnt you want to be able to answer any questions that they have right then? And what did they see? Nothing. No T. No A. Not even a kiss. In the words of Jack Nicholson---"This town needs an enema."
  4. lol My theory is that the # of child molestors, rapists, etc. would be reduced if we werent so up tight. Either that or they would be exposed at a younger age. Everyone is so tense when it comes to SEX SEX SEX in this country.
  5. The real reason is that there are a bunch of fat women who were pissed off when their husbands started gawking at Nicollette Sheridan. This country needs to loosen up. There is nudity all the time on TV in Europe and kids arent scarred. If we were a little more relaxed about this stuff everyone would be better off.
  6. It is easy for an organization to look like the hero when they are sending food to starving kids, helping people suffering from AIDS in Africa, etc. However what is being skimmed off the top? If you follow the oil for food $$ from Saddam to Europe to the bank accounts of families of Muslim terrorists who murdered innocent Israelis you can draw the easy connection that the UN was funding terrorism. Additionally, the UN has always been accussed of being a somewhat anti-semetic organization. Did those in the know at the UN not realize this was going on? Please... The UN is an outdated organization that is dying that must modernize. The war in Iraq has exposed the fact that countries need the UN to function.
  7. The guy hadnt seen his wife in years. There were scattered reports that Obby mentioned. Finally, how often is a diagnosis as sketchy as the "blood disorder" one we heard about Arafat. Very similiar to how they used to handle the physical deterioration of AIDS patients in the early 80s. Lets just say this would not be shocking.
  8. Dont misunderstand me guys. I think that we are up against some smart evil men. When I say there is no rhyme or reason, I am meaning that there is no real goal being reached. Yes, Hassan's group is now out of Iraq but is this good? Of course not. They were a humanitarian group and her murder hurt Iraqis far more than it hurt anyone else. When I say there is no strategy, I am referencing the people they grab. I dont think there is a master plan in the sense that we need a guy from here, here and here. They are getting who they can and killing them. I was at a Economic Forecasting Conference earlier today. I will post some info tomorrow. Interesting stuff from some really smart people.
  9. They didnt want us but they are happy as hell that Saddam is gone. Give me a break. It is irrelavent whether they are grateful or not. Frankly they can all enjoy their new freedom and curse us for all it matters. Just keep terrorists from setting up training camps and make sure the oil is flowing. Do you really think the govt will be anti-US? There is an Iraqi version of Karzi just waiting to take the reins and lead that nation.
  10. There is no rhyme or reason. There is no strategy. There is no sense to these killings. As for the killing of a terrorist in the mosque, what is there to talk about? Militaries are meant to kill enemies. The Marine did his job. End of story.
  11. This is why there will be no Palestine while terrorists run Hammas and IJ. Not only wont there be, there shouldnt be. Muslim terrorists dont get to lead nations.
  12. In a nutshell, everything the UN touches turns to shit. There is so much sleeze and corruption in that organization it is unreal. Why is the UN even around anymore? It is a joke in the modern world.
  13. The car went from total neck/meth dealer ride to pretty hot for an American car. Seen spy shots of the Saleen yet...its nice.
  14. I would expect nothing more from this gathering.
  15. Take the Pak pre-workout in addition to my other multis/CoQ10/dessicated liver pills that I take w/ breakfast, lunch and dinner....

    why nocturnal?

    True. Very true.
  17. I saw he and his wife speak while I was in college and the guy is just a character. Carville is absolutely hilarious.
  18. It should be apologizing to all the kids of the terrorists that we will hunt down and kill in the next four years. Sorry little Usama but daddy is going to die soon and when you get big enough, you will too b/c you are terrorist scum just like your daddy and arafat.
  19. Give me a break. They dont come out and denounce the bad apples. They fund the bad apples. Therefore, they are bad apples. Are there good Muslims? Of course. Unfortunately they have to eliminate the extremists w/i their religion who put no value on life or peace. By the way, how would you like to share your husband w/ several wives, cover your face all of the time and never be able to expose you legs? Welcome to the role of women in the Muslim world.
  20. You are so right. Until now I didnt get it. I need to try and understand bin Laden and why he his a homicidal man who needs to be killed. Give me a break. There is such thing as right and wrong, good and evil, black and white.
  21. I figured it would be something like that. I havent really looked into the particulars of how the settlers are being coaxed back to Israel proper. The religious fanatics in ANY religion are problems. As for the "second" coming, wouldnt it in fact be the First coming in the minds of Jews? As for occupying land, the war that caused Israel to claim the land was an unprovoked offensive by Arab nations so Im not losing any sleep over taking some turf when you win. Having said that, I think they need to get the settlers out, give the Palestinians some land(West Bank or Gaza Strip) and move on. I only hope this is where the Palestinians stop. After so many years I wonder if the fight for them can end without eliminating Israel....
  22. Pay special attn to the criticisms of Tenet toward the end of the article... FORMER HEAD OF CIA'S OSAMA BIN LADEN UNIT SAYS THE QAEDA LEADER HAS SECURED RELIGIOUS APPROVAL TO USE A NUCLEAR BOMB AGAINST AMERICANS Fri Nov 12 2004 12:02:34 ET Osama bin Laden now has religious approval to use a nuclear device against Americans, says the former head of the CIA unit charged with tracking down the Saudi terrorist. The former agent, Michael Scheuer, speaks to Steve Kroft in his first television interview without disguise to be broadcast on 60 MINUTES Sunday, Nov. 14 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Scheuer was until recently known as the "anonymous" author of two books critical of the West's response to bin Laden and al Qaeda, the most recent of which is titled Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror. No one in the West knows more about the Qaeda leader than Scheuer, who has tracked him since the mid-1980s. The CIA allowed him to write the books provided he remain anonymous, but now is allowing him to reveal himself for the first time on Sunday's broadcast; he formally leaves the Agency today (12). Even if bin Laden had a nuclear weapon, he probably wouldn't have used it for a lack of proper religious authority - authority he has now. "[bin Laden] secured from a Saudi sheik...a rather long treatise on the possibility of using nuclear weapons against the Americans," says Scheuer. "[The treatise] found that he was perfectly within his rights to use them. Muslims argue that the United States is responsible for millions of dead Muslims around the world, so reciprocity would mean you could kill millions of Americans," Scheuer tells Kroft. Scheuer says bin Laden was criticized by some Muslims for the 9/11 attack because he killed so many people without enough warning and before offering to help convert them to Islam. But now bin Laden has addressed the American people and given fair warning. "They're intention is to end the war as soon as they can and to ratchet up the pain for the Americans until we get out of their region....If they acquire the weapon, they will use it, whether it's chemical, biological or some sort of nuclear weapon," says Scheuer. As the head of the CIA unit charged with tracking bin Laden from 1996 to 1999, Scheuer says he never had enough people to do the job right. He blames former CIA Director George Tenet. "One of the questions that should have been asked of Mr. Tenet was why were there always enough people for the public relations office, for the academic outreach office, for the diversity and multi-cultural office? All those things are admirable and necessary but none of them are protecting the American people from a foreign threat," says Scheuer. And the threat posed by bin Laden is also underestimated, says Scheuer. "I think our leaders over the last decade have done the American people a disservice...continuing to characterize Osama bin Laden as a thug, as a gangster," he says. "Until we respect him, sir, we are going to die in numbers that are probably unnecessary, yes. He's a very, very talented man and a very worthy opponent," he tells Kroft. Until today (12), Scheuer was a senior official in the CIA's counter terrorism unit and a special advisor to the head of the agency's bin Laden unit.
  23. I agree that the settlers are huge roadblocks. Having said that, I think the Israeli govt needs to offer some serious compensation for to these people in the way of real estate, money, new jobs, etc. for giving up their homes(yes I know they are settlers so lets not go into this point b/c it has become home to many of these people) and moving out of the occupied territories that were claimed after Israel was attacked.
