My friend is coming up from down under and is looking for some kangaroos to party with. He doesn't like aboriginies though (they can't hang). Is this the direction we are going here? This is NY f'in city. There is a little bit of everything everyplace. Just do your thing and enjoy!

It would be like going to a concert. I'd go just for the experience, but there is no way I'd pay more than $30. And I'd have to be with a group of friends and be walking around, not just sitting in a seat for hours.

You could open a venue that plays all trance and techno, but you would have to open the doors to an 18+ crowd in order for it to survive. Since 18-20 can't drink, you have to make your money in other ways, mainly more expensive club admission. This would drive away your drinking crowd, which means you would lose more money. Your crowd would become mostly a rave type crowd, which we all know, wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell surviving in NY today. I know you are speaking hypothetically, and yes, in a perfect world a venue like this would be nice. I mean, hell, I'm trying to put together a D&B and techno party myself. I wish I had someplace to go where I knew no matter what day it was I would hear something other than house.

Could you please tell me where I said you couldn't listen to what you want. Please. My point was that the parties going on now barely get the support they need to stay alive. Another one would just saturate the scene even more. I have nothing against trance. Just pointing out that its not as popular around here as some people like to think it is.

There are so many good parties going on now that people don't go to. Why in the hell would you want to open another club? Oh, and with the exception of the top 10 trance Dj's, nobody gives a sh*t about trance. If trance parties weren't 18+, they would be half empty.

Yes, the place is wack, but it has less to do with Pacha itself and more to do with the people that go there. Its like Disneyland... all tourists. Its Deko North. Its people trying to pretend its still SF. I have no choice, I have to go on Saturday. I just hope the bridge and tunnel people go somewhere else that night.

I hear that Opus is a nice spot. I haven't really had a reason to shoot up there untill now. Good luck with it and hope to see you up there.

Are you high?!?! Pacha was AWFUL on Saturday. Harry was great, but the party was pretty much over at 3:30 when the fire alarm went off. The only sound was from the booth monitors and Harry was looping the same beat for an hour while he waited for them to fix the alarm problem, which they never did. "Sophisticated Europeans"? If sophisticated means not wearing deoderent, getting blasted, pushing girls half your size over, and having no class whatsoever, then yes, it was a sophisticated crowd. The girls in the showers were surrounded by creeps (guys and girls) rubbing up against the glass, fucked up out of their minds. It was like a giant high school party with good music, but nobody cared about the music. Pacha caters to Jersey trash. Period. If they don't do something soon to change their image and the way they handle their club it won't last another 6 months.

Lol. I was listening to KTU this past Saturday night during the Paul Oakenfold show. Well, he was playing and all of a sudden I hear the music going "dip-dip-dip-dip-dip-dip-dip" I started cracking up and my friend asked what was happening. I told her the CD he was playing was sticking. It went like that for at least 30 seconds (I could imagine him fumbling around w/ his CD book trying to get the next song ready). I jokingly told her that's what happens when you play w/ CD's. LOL

F Pacha in the A!!! Will this place EVER be able to have a night where things run semi-smoothly? Don't get me wrong, Harry killed it! The music was definately on point, but fire alarms going off at 3:30 in the morning??? Ok, so some jerk-off decided to pull the fire alarm (or so they say). Can't somebody turn the damn things off so everyone can continue to enjoy themselves?!?! I mean, it's Harry's damn birthday and the party ends at 4 o'clock? I mean, if they can't have a drama free night when he plays, what makes anyone think it'll be different for any other event? Big ups to Madness, Premo, Todd and Rami though!!!

Music is my livelyhood. I own a record store, DJ, produce, and do small time promoting, so for me if she could not accept what I did she would be gone w/out hesitation. One of my best friends who I love to death stopped talking to me for about 3 months after I bought the store because she said all I did was go out and break plans w/ her. I hated to see her go, but I had to continue doing my thing. She eventually understood where I was coming from and we are very close again. It's all about compromise. Like someone else said, it starts w/ the clubs and if she/he sees she/he can change that, they'll try to change everyhing else about you.
