  1. Huh? Explain now... I'm intrigued.
  2. Heh I'm pretty sure he played a few tracks twice actually. Like that one song.. I'm not sure what the name is, but it's got some vocals like "You've got to believe" ...
  3. Yea, it was probably insanely packed, and there were too many people for anybody to even dance till about 9 AM. Party ran all the way till noon, with a few encore tracks.
  4. they gave you what? l..........s.........d.............
  5. I'm not sure how somebody can diss this crowd... especially if you look at what comes to Asseteria or Discotheque afterhours. It's probably the best vibe of any of the parties I go to...
  6. Yea we all shoot heroin. We don't dance, we usually just lie around on the dancefloor on our backs.
  7. 1 style? Lol... kid, half the artists off Ninja Tune would send this guy home bleeding and crying as far as turntablism is concerned.
  8. Get some basic reading comprehension before you waste your time making these posts. That's exactly what I said - I was asking the question because he seems to produce a lot of his own music. How the fuck are you gonna flame somebody and say exactly what they said, jesus christ.
  9. Who's going to see the greatest producer of electronic music to ever live this Memorial Day weekend?
  10. I thought the idea was "daytime" parties.... of course Discotheque and Crobar sometimes stay open late... but end late morning or very early afternoon. I know the B.E.D. event goes strong all afternoon though.
  11. lol or we could spend it on something useful like social programs
  12. Albums only usually suck because hardly anybody in the "house" scene does any production work. If you go into the worlds of d&b, idm, ambient, downtempo, trip hop, etc. where more of the "big names" in the scene have gained their reputations by actually producing and sequencing original tracks, rather than churning out hundreds of remixes which consist of nothing except adding in a simple layer or two, you will find beautifully crafted masterpieces of CDs. Listen to producers like Amon Tobin, or Photek, or Juno Reactor, or Shpongle, and you will discover music that is more like "art" than "crafts." The reason I brought up the album in question is because it seems to be one of the few examples of an artist mentioned here composing their own album from start-to-finish. So I then assumed that he probably plays a lot of his own original tracks in his sets.
  13. haha.. ed o' neill is famous tho isnt he?
  14. I asked in my post what he plays because I don't know. And I only said that's what I heard on that one particular album, which I'm right about.
  15. Listen to the album... sounds like bad progressive psytrance.
  16. Lol do what you want, I'm just saying I wouldn't go to Avalon if I were you unless you're some sort of high school teacher that likes dealing with teenagers.
  17. Heh.. well it's not really the greatest love song lyrically... it's more of a great song once you take in the music and his incredible voice. And I guess it's more about love than it is a love song... but here goes: Well I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do ya? Well it goes like this : The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah... Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya And she tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah... (Yeah but) Baby I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor, (You know) I used to live alone before I knew ya And I've seen your flag on the marble arch and love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah... Well there was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me do ya But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah... [instrumental] Maybe there's a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelu... Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelu... Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallellllluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuujjjaahhhh...Hallelllluuuuuujjaaaaaaaaaahhhh
  18. or.... jeff buckley - hallelujah
  19. Well I was thinking more of places like Light and Rain and Ghost Bar..... I should have probably qualified this statement with "upscale" .... I usually tend to go all out in Vegas since I'm never there for longer than a couple of days at a time.
  20. The only thing I know about is brunch at B.E.D....
  21. I would say that Las Vegas has a better lounge scene than NYC. But for clubs, you're definitely right... much better here.
  22. the smiths - stop me if you think you've heard this one before
