The reason the straightup warehouse feel doesn't work for Spirit is because the club is segmented. It's not one just one big room... Hundreds of people on K walking around bumping into things and falling down stairs because its as dark as Freddy Krueger's basement gets old after a while....

Well there's already been parties mentioned in other threads that haven't made it into the list. For example, where's mention of Alien Project @ Spirit this Saturday? And Shpongle at Cielo on the 29th....

I think there needs to be a healthy medium. Spirit would be greatly benefitted by a bit of lightwork... or what would be really great is if they got some pretty cool psychedelic artwork or tapestries. "Dark" doesn't have to be synonymous with "boring."

Is there any way that we can consolidate all these events into a single page? Cuz having to read through the whole thread to find additions and corrections is pretty annoying. And it seems like nobody wants to take the trouble to update the calendar with these events either....

Yo you are correct. The crowd did suck BUT my review was only relative. All I'm saying is that you had a fighting chance of throwing up your arms and not hitting either somebody from the Joy Luck Club or somebody with two pairs of genitalia. Which is better than a typical night (morning?) at Discotheque. Did anybody see that CBGB looking motherfucker that got kicked out of the club like 8 times? That shit was hilarious.

I didn't think it was that good. Set was pretty annoying. Every time a fairly sick beat came on, it was preempted by some cheesy vocal layer. Felt like music at an 18+ candy rave. The music was alright around 7 AM, but then just declined. However, the crowd was pretty good considering discotheque is like an alcoholic's last call for afterhours partying. Fair amount of hot girls, and that place was basically packed tilll 11 AM, and still fairly full when it closed at 1PM. Few Asian sightings too....

Plastikman can headline at the K-Lounge.... lol

I guess nobody on this board is into psytrance... unless they just happened to come across one of those "weird" tsunami parties at Spirit one night
