  1. hehe "roll call" (aka an1 got good e?) anyhoo - there's a HUGE buzz going on about the new party at avalon tonight - might be fun. if anyone from the board is going come say 'hi' if you get the urge - i'll be the one taking pics of all the drag queens...
  2. 1st off, yeah getting banned is totally the shite - the bigger and better the club the better it is. granted i'm kicking myself every time sammy jo spins there but that's like once a month at the most. these are the electro dj's i know of: sammy jo (played last night at arena - totally TOTALLY fucking amazing) kim ann foxman - used to spin the basement of happy valley - gonna track her down asap larry tee - he's hardly ever spinning at his club bank anymore
  3. yeah only electro - that's the problem - there's plenty of deep house, tribal and shite in NYC but that shite ain't exactly what on the edge of the music scene....
  4. what? london doesn't have a better music scene then NYC??? get real
  5. ok bozo - offer up your "hottest thing in the nightlife" right now btw, i might not 110% enjoy my pics but it appears everyone else around me does so someone from club planet, who's idea of "fashion and b'n hip" is wearing their nike's from last year with a stained t-shirt, then i'm not too worried about lame comments like this...
  6. Sammy Jo is the best fuckin DJ in this town when it comes to Electro - HOWEVER Cain is NOT underground - it's a super fun night but top 40, rock-n-roll and hip-hop is not underground. Mr Black, as far as I can remember, is only good for music when Sammy is in town (I've been banned and apparently it's for life...)
  7. and what would yours be? trannys are the best thing in this town thank u - they sure know how to take a good picture
  8. 4real - if you're confused, as i'm sure you easily are it appears, then ask about any part you don't agree with or understand. i don't bullshite and i don't lie simply because i don't have to
  9. dude get a clue - legend, very well likely in the making thank you, but i haven't been doin my "thang" since Simon's unless you call working for Sony Music for 10 years and not once going out at night as my "thang" then you're right and yeah, Simon's was the shite - go ask ANY internationally known DJ that was around when house started. don't think Florida has a good music scene??? then why was Miami the only USA club in the top 10 from the top 100 clubs in the world survey that just came out and why was Florida mentioned AGAIN before NYC was even brought up. Funny thing is Miami didn't even register on the music scene map back then seeing central FL's scene was going on so f'n hardcore. if you don't consider the one club where BOTH Sasha and Paul van Dyk chose to spin their very 1st USA set as "legendary" then keep on truckin cause you missed the exit years ago
  10. is this a request for a platonic date? i'm a very cheap date and have found the best $1 value meal is at Wendy's
  11. agreed.... go ask anyone from London, Berlin or anywhere else known for their music scene - they will ALL tell you NYC has NO 'underground' music scene - it's a city far more for dressing up and going out to be seen. oh f'n well tho - there's a hell of lot more to do here then dancin i guess - the best thing i've found in NYC is taking pics of drags and trans - if you can't twist a scene into what you want then twist with it and make do. don't get me wrong tho - NYC is a LOT of fun it's just not the kind of fun i strive for (sweat-to-death-on-a-dance-floor kind of fun) i'm gonna go check out the 'circuit' scene tho - even tho i'm not a HUGE fan of JR's music what I was a HUGE fan of was how the peeps were very into the music... hopefully stereo w/peter will be fun
  12. I'm quite the expert on "underground music movements" - I put in 5 years in the New Wave club stuff and 5 years in the House movement when it was "underground". It was super-duper easy to find the underground music scene in NYC when I started going out however if you want references I'll be more than happy to ask every DJ I know (I know a few) to give references on my skills... As for the "first hi" on club planet - yeah - I didn't know shite about NYC however I've now turned the scene upside down. My pictures/collages on my MySpace page has become the biggest thing in the NYC nightlife right now. I never set out to do it but it's been done. I'm thrilled people are digging these pics so much I just wish it hadn't taken me 10 years to realize that my place in the Florida club structure might actuall transcend into something in NYC. As for the "faggot" reference - get real, grow up and die. I might be a faggot (actually I'm bi) but I'm more then positive the girls that are into me are way hotter then anything you've ever gotten and the guys I get are much better looking then you'll ever be. btw, faggot sex just means much better and way more often so get a clue here's my latest pic collage:
  13. silverbull is the coolest guy on here - anyone who says differently needs to go back to new jersey
  14. ok limited net time here so i don't have time to read all this stuff... HOWEVER... people get a clue to what "underground" IS - it's what the masses DON'T DO - house was "underground" when it first started in the early 90's (ie, techno, trance, tribal, deep house, progressive house) - by '95 it was so far NOT underground that it became old news... drum&bass became the "underground" sound around then (a sound i TOTALLY hated - caused me to leave the music scene completely) right now the UNDERGROUND is electro - it's a new sound (it's actually the love-child of electroclash which started, i believe, around 2000 but is now dead), noone (ie, the masses (ie, YOU)) is really into it and people are bitching about how it's some "new fad" or a "flash in the pan" - i'm sorry but the shite you usually hear in NYC has been PLAYED OUT - it's hardly "underground" so give me a break: anything that has been around for over a decade IS NOT underground. if you're saying, which forgive me cause i am now paying $7/hr for net usage so no time to read 7 pages, deep house/tribal/trance/ANY KIND OF HOUSE is underground you need to go read the definition of "underground" - if EVERYONE is doing it it's NOT NOT NOT f'n underground.... GEEZ people here, i downloaded this song - the lyrics are total CHEESE (but good cheese is my favorite) however the sound is electro - it's called "my egyptian lover" by space cowboys - like i said it's TOTAL CHEESE and there are much more hardcore electro songs out there but seeing my server hosting my music is now down this is all i can give you: my egyptian lover btw, IMO, i think it's a girl singing to a closeted gay guy (and yes, in my world everything is gay)
  15. hey i'm a club photographer here in NYC and head out to susanne's parties sometimes - anyone go to the one she threw last night??? amanda lepore and lady fag were there - don't know if kenny kenny was part of it or not (he's her partner here in NYC)
  16. amen on that - ladies in a gay bars are the best - the best thing is when hookin up with a chick at a fag bar they can't exactly be 'surprised' or pissed when you hook up with a guy at a later date at the same club... besides most NYC chicks don't seem to have a problem with bi guys (guess they know we make much better shopping buddies the day after) btw, what does peter play? is it the usual circuit music? last time i heard jr play he actually included a couple of kick-ass songs so i'm hoping the generic circuit music is giving away to NYC electro (and i'm NOT talkin beeps and f'n blips either) - i met peter the other week at bank that night jr played so i'm gonna go check him out - he's fuckin super cute people! btw, gay bar fact #2: if you are a straight guy and become friends with a gay guy he can hook you up with a hot girl a lot quicker then your straight bud will and/or can
  17. last time jr played at bank he played 2 really KICK ASS songs (1st time i've heard him play any good song IMO tho i've only heard him spin like 4x's now) - don't get me wrong tho - those 2 songs ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. an underground scene in NYC??? um yeah - when someone digs the underground music scene from the six feet it's always been under lemme know (hint hint: stuff they've been playing for YEARS & YEARS & YEARS is NOT underground!!!!!) btw, if you want good underground electro music go to mr black on fridays when sammy jo (the scissor sister's dj) is spinnin... it's a homo bar tho
  19. after all these years me boy is still number 1! and what gives - nightlife awards kinda rock - it's lame you bitch about it but you're trolling "club planet" (one who bitches about shit they do only bitch about themselves you know)
  20. the set up at arena is really nice and the sound system ROCKS - club has mega potential.
  21. Sorry, Electro isn't going anywhere... I'm sure this is what they said about House when it first came on. If you haven't noticed Electro has been around for a bit and is just recently getting way bigger (which, of course means, it has a limited shelf life because once the masses catch on then it's doomed for good). If you haven't noticed A LOT of DJ's are just now catching on to it admitting that at 1st the production values of it were kinda off but even the once-against-it peeps are having a hard time ignoring the new sound. It's not a fad and if you think it's going away then put your headphones back on and listen to the same tribal shit that's been played out for 15 years now.
  22. are you serious? 1st off, Florida has a club in the top 10 with another one coming before NYC is even mentioned.... obviously the nightlife capital of the world is Ibiza.... NYC, tho the "capital of the world", is once again proven NOT to be the capital of the nightlife world.... Figures tho - this is coming from someone who has brookswannabe quoted in their sig...
  23. ok "an opinion" - go ask any DJ i know about my level of music and if they consider what i have to say about music (ie, "it's good song") if they take that as "fact" or "opinion" - you're talking to someone who's history you have no clue of. but chill tho - the person's opinion i'll be slightly concerned with, whether or not my thoughts on music are more fact or fiction, will be those who are actually spinning it. if you insist of saying plain vanilla crap like this i can have a 5 minute conversation with any DJ you know (as long as they're a "good" DJ) and i'll let him fill you in on who's more of an expert on music after our conversation - that DJ himself or me.
