  1. YO People! (again, sorry for all 'dese posts) but new topic: I have Logic Express 7.1, Reason, the X-Station 25 Synth (http://www.novationmusic.com/product.asp?id=1&Type=1&bArchive=False) and Sonic Synth 2. I have no idea how to use them really, however I have a zillion ideas and could use some help. Would someone like to do a collaboration? We can smoke, drink, chill-out, do whatever and have a good time while messing around. Bring some records over too. I have 3 turntables & 2 mixers but, again, no clue on how to use them. Check out the attached song (2 other songs can be found --- http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?t=279938 ) The cool thing about this song is it has a real rock-n-roll guitar in the middle, one that I have never heard in an electronica song before.
  2. Good for you - posting an original tune. I will definitly check it out when I get home and let you know what I think. If you can do the same for me that would be awesome (go to the thread here titled "Do you like PVD & New Order - Check out my song....") Again, thanks again for being creative enough and having enough guts to put yourself out there. More power to you! Good luck with your music.
  3. I have 2 sites that have plenty of room for hosting mixes. One is newwavehouse.com - i can even design your site for you (used to do it for Sony Music). Be advised: NewWaveHouse.com's design sucks!!!! I put all my time and effort into programming it and not designing. I'll be more than happy to host your mixes for free, however the only request I'll be making is for you to play a song or two for me when I hear you out. The URL would be newwavehouse.com/yourname
  4. dub-vulture by New Order released in 1985. It's their dub version of Subculture. "In the end you will submit It's got to hurt you a little bit."
  5. Actually, they did a remix of it back in '91. I have it one of the first DJ mix tapes I ever got my hands on. It was actually a really cool mix too. If you're dying for it I might be able to locate the tape for you. It won't be the easiet thing to do but I need to go through my tapes anyways.
  6. Hey isn't "The Other Two" Gililan & Stephen from New Order? New Order, if you can't tell from my avatar, is my fafafaFave.
  7. Hey guys, I noticed some of you were looking for sites to host your mixes. I have 2 sites of my own which have a ton of free space on them so I'll be more than happy to do it. I can also design sites since that's what I used to do for Sony Music. Right now it won't cost a thing. The only payment I'll be asking for is for you to spin me a tune or two when I'm out and about dancing to your stuff. Oh yeah, don't look at the newwavehouse.com site as my "designing skills". I put all my time and effort into programming that thing and not designing it at all. The URL would be newwavehouse.com/yourname
  8. So the name of the game is old school, eh? 1992's Visions of Shiva by Paul Van Dyk http://www.newwavehouse.com/listen/visionsofshiva.mp3 (Paul's very 1st release) 1991's Pacific Symphony by Transformer 2 http://www.newwavehouse.com/listen/pacificsymphony.mp3 (1st song to have whistles in it. This is off the 1st house CD I bought) 1991's We Shall Be by Well Hung Parlament http://www.newwavehouse.com/listen/weshallbe.mp3 (Has the coolest break ever in a song) If you like this stuff check out my website & lemme know what you think. If you find a song you like, lemme know and I'll send you the mp3. Later people - hope you like these 3 songs!
  9. I always listen to whatever my jukebox, http://www.newwavehouse.com, spits out (everything from New Wave to early 90's House to Electro). Let's see - right now it's spitting out "Mr. Disco" from New Order's "Technique" (which, IMO, is the best CD ever made by the best group eva). The jukebox has over 24 hours of music in it. If you find a song you like, lemme know, and I'll send you the mp3. Just to give you a sampling: The next 3 songs it spit out were: QT Quartett's "Hold That Sucker Down" (complete classic from like 94) Peter Murphy's "Cuts You Up" (Ex-Bauhaus lead singer) Depeche Mode's "Strange Love" (Maxi-mix)
  10. I've attached 2 of my original tracks. "I Still Have A Dream" is influenced by New Order (a la Technique) and "Waiting For Vince Clarke" is influenced by Paul Van Dyk (circa 1992/93 - it is NOT the current PVD Trance sound but more like his older older stuff). Yes, I know the songs don't really sound like them but New Order and Paul are the 2 biggest influences way back from the 80's & 90's. If you take a listen lemme know what you think I should do to them. "Vince" takes off in the middle but you really need the build up to appreciate it fully. BTW, if you don't know, Vince Clarke started Yaz(Yazoo), Depeche Mode, the Assembly and Erasure. The man rocks!!! Yeah, I'm a newbie so sorry for cloggin up the list here.
  11. cool - thanks man for actually sticking to the subject here. I hear Cileo is cool but I'm looking for the weekends mainly. When you guys write in can you let me know what night and how much it is roughly and what type of music it is?
  12. Everyone should definitly check out "Smokesum in June". Kick-ass stream. Haven't had a chance to really listen to the other ones but "June" IMO has a definite electro feel to it although I'm sure that's not what it is (my musical lingo lags).
  13. Vampires tend to go to bed at daylight, we keep on going.... Here's my fave pic tho - at my friends house, the rez, after the club one morning. Describes it perfectly...
  14. freakazoid, thank you! my freakiness my 2nd best quality. dancing is my 1st. Here's a picure of me and my Miami friends. I'm in the middle. I look like ass cause I dance all night long.
  15. i don't need no ridalin! i have a few strikes against me here - 1) i type 70wpm 2) i'm a total online chatterbox & 3) nothing gets me going like music & dancing so the thought of actually going back out after a 10 year hibernation gets to the very core of me. sorry if it bugs ya but i'm a true freakazoid - actually that was my nickname given to me by my friend Chris in college but you can call me freaka for short, unless you're rude to me then it's mr. zoid.
  16. Jim - What made, uh, er, eh what was that really cool club called in the early 90's (hehe) so friggin popular is that we cared about the music 1st. As my best friend, and resident DJ of Simon's, said yesterday - "A DJ likes nothing more than someone who can truely appreciate their music".
  17. i hear nyc doesn't have good x. i haven't laid my hands on one since i went out in the early 90's. i luv luv luv real-x only because it makes the music COME ALIVE inside your soul. i'm very spiritual and believe that dancing allows one's spirit to be set free and of course, on a good pill, it increases the feeling but a thounsand-fold. but isn't the sutff here filled with dirt, dirt and more dirt? shit you get me on a good pill and i can 110% assure you that you will see what made Simon's so popular (oh Gawd, there's that word again). my only natural super power is to get into a groove but i feel the days of x-n and doin that are over. don't get wrong, i can still groove sober but i do miss 'dem old days...
  18. can we get back to me please??? hehe!!!! i'm the one here who is dying to dance so deepspell i want to make sure i don't miss you saturday night. what time are you going on, do you know? i'm going to check out your stuff when i get home tonight and if i like, ya betta watch out. trust me, i'm no groupie, far beyond that. dj's kiss my ass, i don't kiss theirs (JUST A JOKE PEOPLE!!!) but if i like what you play, ya betta pay attention. i might just change your life if you change mine and one way to do that is through music.
  19. yeah would one of you guys listen to an original tune i have at http://www.cjmikey.com - listen to "I Still Have A Dream" - it's far from being finished but I would love the 411 from either of you guys..
  20. yo yo!!! deepie - i was just askin if you're going to be more likely to play certain tunes out saturday night and if so which stream are they on. when i used to go out, notice club word omitted for J's sake, i would head over to the DJ's house, listen to tunes, dance around there, recommend, then go out and go off. the thing is, i consider a night an accomplishment if i hear just one really kick-ass tune. like cowboy mark played "Show Some Love" (92) by Jaco - flipped me out this past weekend. i remember all those songs when they 1st came onto the scene. fun fun fun. btw, what time are you going on. guess i'll hit the club before midnight since i'm having to be a cheapo....
  21. DeepSpell - Checked out the site - a lot of tunage. Is there anything special I should be listening to? I feel like I'm cramming for a test and I need to find out what chapters I should be reading.
  22. deepspell - do you have any tunes on CD or something of some of the stuff you might be playing. just want to know so i can get into it more when i'm dancing (and hum along if possible). classic classic classic classic classic!!!!!!! --- Just Kiddin!!!!!!. my vote of the moment tho would be "paragliders" - the LSG mix. that song is a friggin symphony. if you played that you would see something you've never seen before (me dancing like a madman of course!!! hehe). too bad i'm so str8-laced these days. i used to love to party (just to dance to the music) but the favors these days are dirty dirty dirty...
  23. Um, I've requested plenty of songs in my lifetime and not once have I run across a DJ who wasn't more than thrilled to play it for me. NEVER. And I've been going out since I was 13 (tho I did stop when i hit 25 (now 34)). Deepspell - sorry if I offended thee but I would just kill to hear a classic out every once in a while. Once a DJ realizes the depth of my appreciation for music then they usually bend-over-backwards to make me happy because they love seeing someone get really into what they're playing. Maybe the scene here is different but somehow I don't think so.
  24. OH BAH HUM BUG on that classic stuff!!!! Is there anyway i can talk you into playing just one classic for me when you play? How about Datura's "Yerba Del Diablo" (but it has to be the right mix tho!!!)? The thing about playing most classics and that most of the people out there have no clue to what it is.
