  1. There you go again, SOUTH FLORIDA???? This was CENTRAL FLORIDA!!! I don't insult you by saying you're from New Jersey, do I? Again, I'm just telling you when it became 'popular' at Simon's... 1995. Before that, D&B was not played there like it was after 95.
  2. Well it hit Simon's in 95. That's exactly what drew me out of the scene. It may have come out earlier but I was trying my hardest to ignore it.
  3. Just last week. I could be getting it a lot more but I'm seriously not into it for some reason. Rather go dancing. But where is that coming into play?
  4. Drum & Bass came out in 95. I remember hating it hardcore and thus got out of the scene. Too much to deal with.... But now Electro seems to be the new thing, maybe not in NYC, but it's gotta be here somewhere.
  5. well my best friend used to the be the resident headliner of the club i used to go to and i used to spend all my time over at his house listening to tunes. we would go through them and decide which ones he should play out and then, BAM, we would go and get down to them hardcore. it's one thing if the song is good, but it's another thing if you know the song by heart.
  6. HEY man - "chill pill" was in right before drum & bass came around - anything after drum & bass i'm clueless on.
  7. anyone want to hear my theme song from 1991? www.newwavehouse.com/mp3/musicofthefuture.mp3 it goes: "music was my first love and it will be my last. music of the future and music of the past." it's the only record any DJ has ever bothered to give to me. fyi: it was released by hooj choons...
  8. God man, has anyone prescribed you a chill-pill before or is this more sarcasm?
  9. well that's a hell of a shame. but i try to be respectful - me no joke anymore on da board.
  10. where is that damn sarcasm button when you need one???
  11. criss-cross - you're off my list - if i can't be on yours then i'm taking you off mine!!!!!! considered yourself voided and nulled XXXXXXXX-d out
  12. Actually, thinking about it, that party would be too big to deal with. I'm thinking of a smaller more intimate party with the resident headliner from Simon's playing his old tunes. One thing you should definitly do to decide if you want to go is go to my newwavehouse.com site and listen to just the 90's section and lemme know what you want to hear. it's going to be a night of all classics and requests.
  13. You don't have to be part of Simon's to enjoy music from 91-95 with big hits such as "Song of Life", "Te Amo", "Paragliders" and "Love Stimulation". I want this to be a more intimate party so I was thinking invitation only but who knows - it's too far away to think about things like that.
  14. I wrote you an email telling you why I flaked. I had enough $ for the club but none for water and that would have been too dangerous to do.
  15. I didn't see shite about any comments on that stream. I'm really sorry for the goof. It's just I heard a little electro and went a bit crazy. Still want to meet ya tho mr and listen to what you spin.
  16. I'm old school, hehehe, so if that makes me industry (ranting and raving about my favorite club of the 90's) then yeah I'm industry. Still don't know what that means but I'm taking it as a compliment. It's like when people call me a freak - "freakazoid" used to be my nickname so their back-hand put-down is actually a right-up compliment as to one of my best qualities. I'm starting to think that if going on about Simon's is industry then industry is probably one of my better qualities too. You're still welcome, tho Jim, to come to my Simon's Reunion party in May.
  17. whatever - i live, i learn, i forget... still tho, found it on his site so that's good 'nuff for me... btw, jim, you were 4th, would've been in the top 3 but i remember you calling me "industry" hehe
  18. why thank you! you'll meet me soon enough when i'm out and about (check out http://www.newwavehouse.com/bigger.html - me 10 years ago but you'll get an idea of what i look like). feel free to come up to me and introduce yourself (as long as I'm not dancing to New Order or something!!! hehe). if i'm dancing, and look into it, give it time, i'm bound to take a breather. Here's my 3 (tho I've only been on this board for about week so I don't know who's who yet): WarpDriveNYC - Has a music studio I've been invited to tour (kick ass!!!) DeepSpell - Digged his "Smokesum in June" stream on his website SilverBull - Had a list that included my 1st fave song ever (yaz's "don't go") if anyone want to chat about music give me a buzz on aim "nymja2" - for the rest of the week i have nothing to do here at work so buzz me away.... and again, THANKS for the compliment!!!!
  19. Well I'm 34. Started going out when I was 13 - quit at 24 (when Drum & Bass hit the scene). 10 years later I'm back for more.. I mean, c'mon, 34 isn't that old for NYC is it? - But you can call me 'gramps' if you must....
  20. Quick version: After a 10 year hibernation I decided to start going back out to check out the music scene and came across this site on citysearch.com Longer version: I was at PVD in central park and this DJ comes up to me and tells me he pointed me out to Paul Oakenfold when I was on the floor at Crobar (8 months prior and just happened to be the last time I went out - I was the only one dancing at the time I believe). Back when I used to go out certain DJ's would take notice only because I loved dancing to the music so much and plus I get into it BIG time (yes I look like a fool 1/2 the time but I don't care....) and if this happened at Crobar with Oakenfold I'm wondering where else it might happen. Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to have an inflated ego, it's just my "dream of the moment" to meet a couple of dj's where I can listen to some tunes at their house while chilling out before we actually go out to the club to get down to them..
  21. Not exactly. However it looks like our love for music is pretty much the same although honestly I haven't met many people who's love for music is unmatched by anything else. I was talking to this frenchie as to what's more important to him then sex. He thought "wine" while I always think "music".
  22. No, but it appears Silverbull & I have a lot in common.
  23. Good lyric but he was playing "I feel fine, I feel good, I feel like I never should". However if I had it my way he would have flipped over the 12" of what you're singing and play "1963" http://www.newwavehouse.com/mp3/1963.mp3
  24. Well, er, uh, yeah, she was interupting the one and only song I had requested. I had no problem chillling out with her but dancing is way more important to me, esp. to a song by New Order, than talking to a person (guy, girl, who cares....).
