TIME

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today

And then the one day you find ten years have got behind you

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking

And racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older

And shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desparation in the English way

The time is gone the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

"High(er) Hopes" from "The Division Bell"....

A more recent tune, but very sweet.....

And of course, "The Wall", but who doesen't like that song...... cwm9.gif

"Come closer to the speakers so I can see the light in your eyes..."

"When the sun comes up, I have morals again...."

"See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time."

If you've got 25 minutes to kill, "Echoes" is brilliant. "Us & Them" , "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" , almost anything off "Animals". As for the Syd Barrett years, "Interstellar Overdrive" still fucks me up, although the production quality is so late 60s. Oh yeah, can't forget "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun".

The wall, Animals, Dark Side on the Moon,

all tracks on all albums fawkin genius!!!!!!.

But my favorite is Wish you were here...

<begin rockin fawkin bass intro>

Come in here dear boy and have a cigar,

your gonna go far,

your gonna fly high,

your never gonna die,

your gonna make it if you try,

their gonna love you!!!!

--------------------------------

And the most emotional song IMHO .....

So,

do you think you can tell,

heaven from hell,

blue sky's from rain,

can you tell a green field,

from a cold steel rail,

a smile from a veil,

do you think you can tell,

did they get you to trade,

your heros for ghosts,

hot ashes for trees,

hot air for a cool breeze,

cold concience for change,

did you exchange,

a walk on part in the war,

for the lead role in a cage...

Echoes is a phat tune, my favorite is along the same length- the song atom heart mother, 23 minutes of some really moving music. The whole Atom Heart album is really good, and so is Animals. Syd Barrett was such a f*****n weirdo, but the music they put out when he was with them (Piper and earlier) was pretty cool, different than most other stuff you've ever heard.

------------------

"There was a time before we were born when the soul of each one of us decreed that we be brought into life. We have all made a place for ourselves on this earth, each life precious, each path different. But we all share the same goal of inner peace and it is there within us all to be discovered, and it can only be discovered through love."

Wish you were here.

Also almost anything of Animals.

"To dream of the person you want to be is to waste the person you are."

Oh god this is a tough question.. I love it ALL.. I always say "oh this is my favorite song" to about 10000 songs! Annoy the crap out of some ppl smile.gif Here's a "short" list of my favorites:

Comfortably numb

Shine on you crazy diamond

wish you were here

hey you

run like hell

what do you want from me

sorrow

learning to fly

breathe

brain damage (!!!)

and SOOO MANY more.. I'm still to discover the majority of their albums but the ones that I know, I TRULY LOVE.. It's like a drug. I need it once in a while as if my ears are begging to hear another guitar solo or Waters/Guilmor's voices.. I've never had any other band affect me that way and it's an amazing feeling.
