Brief Crobar review

Recommended Posts

Arrived about 12:30am, staff was professional. Got a straight answer about guest list end-times:

House List : 12 midnight

Promoter List: 1 am.

Owner list: all night. Seems fair enough.

Anyways 12:45am and the place was movin already. Good looking people, dressed well, seems like this place attracts a "cleaner" late 20's crowd which means I didnt see any "kids", altho there was this 1 yummy who had to be like 21 today! lol

The top section was not filled however the floor, hip hop, and side room which turned Latin before I left was filled (could they may have squeezed more, yes, but then you would have had a terrible time). Crowd #'s were just right if you ask me. Im sure promoters whould have loved to fill the upper decks more, but hey, if they had 2 of the 3 thousand needed to fill the place, I see no disrespect. It was a really good crowd.

MUSIC: Dj David Waxman was spinning and I have to say, he was really good. Me & all my friends were constantly moving our feet. The sound for the room was great as well. Booming but not overbearing.

I can see CP and certain other boards dont care it for much, it's not your young friends going there, but so far both times I've been there it's been really nice.

agreed...was there friday nite (threw a party early in the prop room...) and I've got to say, Crobar def. knows what they are doing. Great mix of people, professional staff, everything. I know some people aren't into the whole "bottle service" thing (me either) but I feel they cater too it w/out excluding real clubbers who just wanna dance.

Music in the prob room wasn't really my type, but Ivano Bellini more than made up for it in the main room.

sure, why not - crobar kicks some ass... could it be the only club in manhattan that only cares what happens in crobar land? they mind their own business, worry about their own parties, and never get caught up on the next trend that avalon, spirit, etc is doing... ahh, a clubbers club... i mean a real "club" of people

The biggest problem with Crobar is the lack of space to rest or chill out for a bit

Chill at:

Central Park from 59th street thru 96 Street

South Street Seaport Pier 17

Battery park, downtown manhattan

Long Island Riverhead Wineries

Borgata Hotel/Casino, Atlantic City NJ

Ortley Beach, Exit 82 on GSP

Your Family backyard in Staten Island

but IN CROBAR:

You dance, smile, have fun, drink and THEN GO HOME.

That's funny cause the people that go to crobar don't dance. They stand around and look pretty. I like to dance and from time to time sit down and relax my legs. Cause I am not as young as I used to be. But I ain't no old fogey either. But when we go to crobar we go to dance unlike the people that hang there. I don't mean to cause no disrespect to these people. Also it seems that the vip area has plenty of seats to chill at unfortunately you gotta have loot to sit up there. I think you thiago don't get the point about resting a bit before you go out again to hit the dance floor. I like crobar. The sound, the lights and when they get a good dj it's an awesome place. But your view of crobar is plainly different than mine. Cause I am a person who enjoys dancing to a good dj. But guess what we people rest also. That's why arc was awesome cause you could chill out in the other room then go hit the floor again etc...

Peace... Digital

Well said. That's really biggest reasons places like Crobar won't be like Arc/Vinyl/Twilo. More image, less substance. But out of the current set of mega clubs in Manhattan, Crobar is up there as being the friendliest. It's also has great sound and the appearance is nice.

sorry dude i disagree with you on this one .. Avalon brings talented DJs .. brand name DJs .. from all over the world .. in the past few months they have brought Muro Picotto, Marco V, Charles Feelgood, DJ Irene, Jeff Mills, J. Flemming, Infected Mushrooms, Carl Cox, Ferry Corsten, Bad Boy Bill, and Sandra Collins .. and many many others ..

that is what house/techno/transe music is all about .. bringing talents and being open to many different DJs ..

now i know that Crobar did bring Roger Sanches .. and i see them bringing talented DJs too ... so i am feeling that Crobar is on the right track ..

hopefully other clubs follow

Mask,

I agree 100% on all your comments...

But I think Crobar is an Excellent club..... Even without the seats.

The dance floor was packed, so we decide to dance off on the side.

Biscuit . i never said Crobar is not a good club .. i actually said i enjoyed it the only time i went there ..

i was also exicted that they wana bring Morillo and Calderone ..

peace
