Change Clothes and Go:Dress Code

Here are some rule of thumb tips for dress code in Vegas.

#1 For the most part tennis shoes are not permitted in the nightclubs here.

Air forces, S. Carters, GGGGG-Unit, Jordan's ect... (I got punk-ed billboard night at Tangerine cause i had on Jordan type dress shoes, so i went home and changed)

#2 Don't argue at the door, just change or go to another club. This is a tourist town and nobody cares if you don't come back. Shaq got punk-ed at Light ( I'm sure everyone heard about that.) Don't tell them how much your Velor sweat suit or paint splashed jeans cost cause no one cares bouncers hear it all everynight.

#3 Hats, Headware, Du-rags, Bandannas ect... are not permitted.

#4. No Open toe sandals for guys.

#5. Excessively baggy clothes. the clubs are about image here and if you

don't fit the image you won't get in. Keep it neat at the door and once you get in fix your gear how you want. If you look like a thug you will get treated like one.

#6. Call the hot line to the club. Some may say dress to impress ect.. But some like i think OPM breaks it down of for you.

#7. Clubs usually don't allow tee-shirts but it varys. Depending on the night and the club they may let some pass. Vintage and Designer tees also pass sometimes.

#8. Go past the club early and ask the door host simply "can i get in with this, if not what do i need to change." They want you to come in so they should be helpful. Don't piss the Door Host off, he's the one who controls who gets in.

#9. Jeans are permitted if they are not too baggy, not ripped and not covered with logos. Jeans are good at every club I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Collar shirts are the norm.

#10. Nobody cares, the more upscale the place the stricter the dress code.

Note:You can dress how you want if you are willing to pay the door host.

These are some tips to get your game on track not your game pushed back.

If anyone has something to add please do.

I was in front of our club last week and guys were just making a fool of them selves in the front of the club. There is a big ass sign that says dress code enforced ect... And some people think that things don't apply to them. Like i said I got Punked at Tangerine last week. I didn't even get my full sentence out, dude was like " i can't let you in with those shoes" I was like ok. Came back later fresh. I didn't name drop, or go crazy and tell them the clubs sux ect.. Or My favorite stand in front of the club actin like you are calling someone on the cell to take care of. All which i saw last week. Which inspired me to write this post. Just funny stuff you see in the industry.

Ps I'm a button-up myself also

I remember seeing a bunch of dudes walk up to one spot in Vegas at night in board shorts and tennis shoes. The crowd laughed at them 20 yards away.

... for some reason, they honestly thought the crowd laughing at them was not an indication of what the doorman was gonna say too lol.

I dont think thats always true....

A few years ago the Dolce & Gabbana t-shirts were really big (Drink & Gamble, I'm Wearing a Fake D&G T-shirt) and I wore one out and it was a big hit all over vegas, had no problem at doors and it was a tshirt in every sense of the word.

And...

The price you paid for your t-shirt doesn't change the door policy ;)

Shorts are a no-no even when it's 120 out here. Yea tees sometimes make it. If you got style sometimes they let it slide or if you spend a shit of money. some locals who do. Get "special" treatment. i bet once the BBC ( Billionaire Boys Club: Pharell From The Neptunes) Catches on tee will be cool

I posted this up on my message baord and thought this is a good thread for it.

1) When doing bottle service it is customary to tip the host as well as the cocktail server. Tips usually range in the $50+ range for the vip club host.

2) If you are on the vip/guest list make sure to take care of who put you on that list.

3) If you are going to tip your way into a club, be slick. Do it with a shake of the hand. Also if you're going to go that route make sure it's not a bunch of $5s or $10s that total $100.

4) Being cordial, no matter how much of a dick the doorguy is, will get you a lot further than being a prick. If the doorguy has an issue with you, consider yourself barred from the club for that evening.

5) Dropping names to the door guy will most likely fall on deaf ears as they work with different people than hosts do.

6) Never, ever come to a club in shorts or sandals and wonder why you weren't let in.

7) Dress the part, your in Vegas. You can dress like a slob at home in your local watering hole. I know this may ruffle some feathers, but I am jeans and T-Shirt guy and I have to dress the part when at a club.

Never walk to the club inebriated and try to talk your way into the club. This has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

9) No matter who you are, or how big you are in YOUR hometown, do not walk up to the clubs expecting the same special VIP treatment you get at home.

10) When approaching a lady in a club, actually approach them. Don't be one of those fellas that grabs every girl by the arm as she walks by.

Feel free to add your do's and dont's

:jawdrop: WHEN YOU TIP YOUR HOST/WAIT STAFF ,THEY TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA CARE OF U! :smile2::deal:

BEING A HOT CLASSY GIRL, HELPS A GREAT DEAL.

BEING A RUDE AROGANT GUY DOES NOT HELP.

AND IF YOU ARE ON THE LIST THERE IS 4 OR MORE DOOR MEN ,SO ON INSANE HOLIDAY WEEKENDS ITS GONNA BE HARD TO GETTHIER ATTENTION.

KNOW WHOS LIST YOU ARE ON ???

HAVE A FEW GOOD L@@KIN GIRLS WITH YOU!!!!

HAVE A LITTLE MONEY TO HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!

GET THERE EARLY!!!! EVEN IF YOU ARE ON THE LIST

All pretty good recommendations I have to say. I must add that if you go out don't get worked up about throwing down a few dollars for tips. I f you don't want to spend any money going out and are constantly griping about prices then do us all a favor and buy yourself a six pack and stay home.

WORD!

While we are at it, how about these:

- If you're a guy, don't grab the arm of every chick that walks by and ask them "hey, wanna dance?". Go home and get game.

- If your a female, you're here to dance and have fun with your friends, so is the guy asking you to dance. Say yes once and awhile. It just might be better then dancing in a circle with your girlfriends.

I'm going to do a list for club etiquette as well and here is gong to be number

#1 NO ONE OWES YOU ANYTHING!

There are numerous times when I'm handing out passes or flyers or guest listing, or table booking ( whatever people always think you owe them something especially girls). If you give them a line pass, they want to get in for free, if you get them in for free they want to get in the VIP, if you get them in the VIP they want a bottle ect... if anyone wants to chim in do so i'm going to post later tonight

  • 3 months later...

I am 24 yr old law student goign to Vegas for first time April 8-10. I am from New Orleans and not familiar with the club scene. I see fashionable attire required. Can you tell me if I am stylish? I normally wear a nice modern button up (Givenchy or 7 diamonds), all black or dark grey pnstripe Burberry blazer, True Religion jeans and full quill ostrich skin boots and belt (light tan w/ the bumps). Also nice silver watch stylish hair, no hats or anything. Sorry if I sound like an ass for naming labels, but that seems to be important to these places. So would I get in to these clubs dressed like thator do I need stereotypical black shoes and slacks?

I like that qoute" tip everyone"

When I get my comp table/bottle at Body English every Sunday. I still tip the host $100, I tip the cocktail like $125, I tip the steward that helps out the cocktail waitress too. No matter what, you still have to take care of the hand that takes care of you.

Being cheap in Vegas is only going to get you nowhere. Girls can get away with it, sometimes, but guys never. I'll tell you straight, I am not the guy to call if you're coming here to be cheap. If you want to be cheap, hit the liqour store and rink in your room and stay there. Nothing in life is free and in Vegas absolutely nothing is. Casino players get free shit because they're droppin thousands in the casino. Vegas is all about service. If you want top notch service be ready to drop some top notch $$$.

came over to this section of the board for the first time in light of my upcoming trip out at the end of april.

staying at the new wynn grand opening weekend 4/28-5/2. can't wait.

all great sound advice given on here, but what i think is funny is that it's all pure common sense.

if you can't figure this stuff out on your own at this age, then i think you may have been dropped on your head once too many times as a kid.

i can't believe guys are outlining outfits they're anticipating wearing out there and asking for a thumbs up or down...

still though, it's nice of the vegas professionals on here to spell it out to the less educated.

Believe me i would not be typing all this shit if retarted stuff didn't happen every weekend. People have to bite the bullet here. As far as money, the way you dress, waiting and traffic. Just expect that. Girls think cause they are whatever, where ever that it applies here. Somtimes they get hooked-up but don't expect it. People get so mad here when you ask them to do sumthin. I tell people wear this , go at this time, ect... And i always get calls about somethin. There is another post on here about a guy, who has a dress code question and the post has been going on for a week. People always want to take a mile. Just dress up what's the big deal?

Sounds like you dress fine, with that said just look at the pic from the site and you can get a idea of what people wear. The issue no sneakers, athletic, shorts or sandals for guys. and Clubs under the pure group umbrella don't allow different color boot or white shoes. Like sky blue times, pink lugz ect..
