A dj become a legend in nyc, has the biggest following in nyc, makes so much money, has his dream job, but thats not good enough for people to think he is good. waht shoudl he do start doing porn , or be on mtv. and i aint naming tracks for the last 4 yrs cuase that would only make this 5 more pages long. THE ONLY REASON THERE ARE THESE THREAD OF JP AN THEY HAVE BEEN GOIN ON FOR YRS IS BECAUSE HE IS ONE NYC'S BIGGEST HOUSE DJ. The more popular u become the more people talk about u and thats wahts going on here. I don't know what he sounds like now, but back then he played noise, the type of music you could only enjoy if you were effed up on shitloads of chemicals. It was garbage. Making the crowd go nuts isn't always the best litmus test of whether a DJ is good or not. You mentioned something about DT's dirtbag look crowd earlier. I remember when Sound Factory lived up to its name of "The Pretty People Place" a few years ago. Yes, back in the day the crowd was hot, like the crowd at Crobar on many nights today. Nowadays, most of the crowd falls into the dirtbag category. Last time I went to a JP party (or just look on any picture thread on his board for current evidence) most of those kids looked like fashion victims that got hit in the face with a baseball bat.
