If you go into the worlds of d&b, idm, ambient, downtempo, trip hop, etc. where more of the "big names" in the scene have gained their reputations by actually producing and sequencing original tracks, rather than churning out hundreds of remixes which consist of nothing except adding in a simple layer or two, you will find beautifully crafted masterpieces of CDs. Listen to producers like Amon Tobin, or Photek, or Juno Reactor, or Shpongle, and you will discover music that is more like "art" than "crafts."The reason I brought up the album in question is because it seems to be one of the few examples of an artist mentioned here composing their own album from start-to-finish. drflow Posted May 13 Report Share Posted May 13 Listen to the album... sounds like bad progressive psytrance.listen you lil psy trance clown who knows only one style of music this isnt simon posford and no astral projection , you can keep your guitar jamming juno reactors.. chris liebing is a hard techno producer , and the album evolution your talking about is a double lp ... its hard german techno with elements of white noise and distortion on bass kicks and made to be in a sense a concept album made for remixes ... hence is evolution retry label , if your gonna talk trash about somebody make sure you got your facts straight ... and unlike 90 % of the psy trance djz , he actualy can mix a beat and dosent need a stop start technique or live p.a. because they basicaly cant carry a beat over from one song to a next .. chris is an amazing dj and producer , his live dj sets include 3 to 4 turntables at the same time with a laptop with final scratch and outboard effex gears..i own his stigmata label , evolution ,retry , clau , clr , some fine audio and other works chris has done .. he is the #1 hard techno producer in the world , and if you know his work youll understand why.. drflow Posted May 13 Report Share Posted May 13 Not a big Schranz Fan, like when he sticks with more pure technoliebing dosent realy stick with the schranz style , infact i havent heard him whip out schranz in god knows how long.. allthough he has released the stigmata cd which is the roots of schranz in a sense , he's mostly banging hard techno..schranz has gotten alot harder since liebing first coined the phraze , infact schranz that is being produced all around the world is realy hard fast and dirty nothing like what liebing put out or what he's doing.. even though he has a high bpm like 150 his bass is thick and pounding with a strong groove.. now thats hard to do make music that is hard and grooving!
