I was there from 5 to 9 for Lawler outside. Music was incredible, great vibe.

was supposed to hit Fla for the weekend, even though I would have had to leave on Monday, but I didn't even make it down due to the fact that EXPEDIA fucked up my itinerary and then wouldn't change my return ticket, not to mention i was going to miss my connecting flight and not get there until Saturday instead of Thursday night-so just so the board knows-EXPEDIA SUCKS-book your flight directly with an agent or airline!!

once the sun went down the party started, the dj who played downstairs before tenaglia was pretty good, DT came on and just destroyed everything, hard techouse and bangin tribal, all night

no ghets notch because he knows that shit is played the fuck out...

I would say at around 11:00 they started giving him shit. He refused to turn it down, they had to take the bass out of the speakers because he was like "fuck you" to security it was great. Party moved upstairs to Pearl and he got things started again what a great night. The last hour of his set he got on the mic and said "this place is intimate and enough of the tech house tribal stuff lets get intimate" and started putting down some soulful stuff.

It's so funny how he gets all pissy about this stuff... but I guess when you have played everywhere, and you're still the creme de la creme of the profession, and you have managed to keep your name and music on a consistent level of quality (without selling out to commercial garbage), you have reached a point where you feel it's justifiable to make some reasonable demands.

WTF it's the 4th of July let it rip, turning down the volume is ridiculous, the same thing happened at my party, we had to lower the volume and get soulful, it's all you can do.

nikki beach is not a nightclub in any general sense of the word. nikki beach is aware of the ordinance in force concerning noise in that area. it was a poor decision to have DT play so late, and imo it was a poor decision to have a DJ with such specific demands play at a place obviously not equipped to handle such an act.

to all the DT loyalist, i'm sorry but DT is the master of drama. DT signed a contract to play; if he didn't know the limits of sound, and the ordinances in place then part of the blame falls on him.

you don't enter into contracts without fully understanding the limits of said contract, and physical limitations of the venue in which you are playing.

Everytime I've heard him play at Vinyl/Arc, he was AMAZING! I used to show up at 2 or 3 am and then once all the juiceheads were gone, it got really good (usually at 6'ish or so). That was between 2001 and 2003. Down here, I hear him on 3 different occasions and I wasn't as impressed. He plays more of that hard, relentless sound that people here like. I prefer when he starts dropping old skool house, vocals and classics. To me, that's when he's at the top of his game! No one has that much energy in the booth and very few can make music on the fly as he does.

Sorry bro but I have to disagree Some one who has been doing it as long as he has has a right to get pissed about issues like this. A person that is so into giving no less then 100% to his fans whenever he plays has every right to be pissed. Think about it, if you are an artist and fans pay good money to hear you do you think it is fair to them to hear you play on shit sound? If he didn't care about his fans and was all about the money he wouldn’t have gave 2 shits about the sound he was playing on. To say the blame should have fallen on him is plain wrong. I guarantee that if the ordinances were explained to Danny there would have been no way he would have taken the gig. That’s why you see DJ's come and go people get so obsessed with money and end up taking any gigs they can get and don't give a shit where or how they play. I think that it was a stand up thing of Danny to do. I personally would have been pissed if Danny would have given in and continued to play under those conditions. Because I would have felt as if he just going through the motions so he could collect his check and not have gave a shit about the people who came out to hear him play. I think he's paid his dues to deserve at least that. I mean come on they even took the bass out of his monitors!!! I really think the blame should fall on the event organizers for the piss poor planning. Well what happened happened and it was still a sick as party at pearl and I got my DT fix. Can't wait for the next one. Not a drama post just giving my point of view.

DT has a manager, and tech person. both whom I would assume, where keenly aware of the venues specs and limitations regarding the same. if not DT needs a new manger and tech person. DT whines entirety to much imo. just because you paid your dues. does not give you a right to be kurt to a venues staff, who simply where trying to do their job. imo DT’s ego overshadows his talent; which is rather unfortunate.

Well I guess we're all entitled to our own opinions Personally I think Danny is super cool and down to earth and I don't think ego had anything to due with what went down. Either way I just don't think its cool to slag off any DJ or person on a public messageboard. But thats just me though. But all in all in all for me it was the best party of the year with exception to the Superfreq party at Pawnshop during conference.

DT slag’s off on people on public message boards, and on the PA at clubs as well (I have witnessed quite a few of his tirades, unfortunately...). therefore it is appropriate that I put forth my opinion in a similar fashion. DT is not god! DT is an entertainer that gets paid to perform plain and simple. thus he is subject to criticism be it positive, negative, or otherwise. Glad you enjoyed the party...
