21st Celebration this weekend - Need connections

Hey whats up everyone, glad to have found this message board.

I'm a student at UCLA, me and a group of friends (8 very pretty girls, 4 guys) are heading out to vegas this friday (April 27th) to get our party on.

While I'm pretty well connected in LA (Privilege, The Standard) I don't know a damn person in Vegas.

I'm looking for some chill people who could possibly lower some velvet ropes for us, and show us how to truly party in Sin City.

I can offer my girls, and the guarantee that if you ever swing by LA I can get you some great service at some near impossible to enter clubs.

Oh yea, I should probably add that I'm not looking to pay for any of those ridiculous VIP services.

I'm looking for connections and maybe *gasp* a friendship of some sort.

You'd be amazed how many people I've helped that have at one time or another came back and returned the favor, so help me out please.

Best free advice is to call the clubs in advance and ask to be put on their guest list. Also come prepared with an extra $20 per person minimum to skip the lines. The VIP sections come with a price here when there are dudes involved. No way around that. And if you're looking to party on Friday/Saturday, you may find it difficult to solicit free favors when there are lines of tourists willing to pay for the same courtesies.

are you telling me that guys cant get in when they have a 2:1 girl to guy ratio? I find that hard to believe.

I've gotten me and a few dudes in some HOT clubs here in LA with no girls. I dont see why vegas should be any different.

I'll be sure to post my experience though, I think people hype vegas up way too much. If you can speak well and know some basic psychology you can talk your way into almost any place.

You shouldn't have any problems getting in with that ratio. Just have the girls stand in the front, then the doorman will ask how many. Unless you do Pure where it's a mad house. The hardest part is getting noticed to get in, you just might have to wait. Or slip some money to guy in a jacket. The clubs have a lot of dudes, so they're getting in somehow.

It's too bad you think VIP Serivces are ridiculous.... we really do help people out. When you purchase a home, do u use a real estate agent? When you get a car, do you go through a salesman? Essentially, you can purchase a home without an agent, and you can buy a car from the owner...but are those ridiculous services?

Vegas is a COMPLETELY different ballgame. As most experienced clubbers in Vegas know, guest lists are not the same as L.A. or New York. In those spots, if you are on the list, you are ON THE LIST! Here, if you are on the list, it doesn't mean you will get in right away. And if you are a group of guys, unless you have some grease to give, FORGET IT!

Now, it seems like you have been blessed with more brains and basic psychological understanding of human mentality than most of us, so you shouldn't have any problems...Funny thing is, I would have been more than happy to put your group on ANY guest list in town free of charge, had you asked me, but I guess I just fall into the category of "Ridiculous VIP Services."

Good luck pal.

Wow, I think you have taken my comment of ridiculous "VIP Services" a little too seriously. The comment wasn't directed towards you specifically.

I'm sure your services come in handy for those who are socially handicapped. Hell, if I wasn't as social as I am, I would definitely buy one of your packages.

I was speaking for myself, because from my experience (LA,SF,SD) the LIST means THE LIST as you said.

I obviously don't know a damn thing about Vegas hence my original post and plea for help.

If you can retract your statement and put me on some "lists" I would be more then happy to recommend your services and do a full and complete write up on my soon to launch blog, which chronicles pop culture and night life.

We're in LA (did priv's opening week promotions actually lol). You are right. You dont need 2:1 ratios. Some people do charge outrageoulsy stupid vip prices. Some promoters from Priviledge (friday) do Vegas promotions (not necessarily vip services) also .. so alot of the people you party with actually may do vip services. If they dont, drop a line to info@lalate.com.

I've gotten me and a few dudes in some HOT clubs here in LA with no girls. I dont see why vegas should be any different.

Vegas is a different door situation because it's a completely different crowd.

Clubs in places like LA, CHI, NYC, MIA, BOS become popular primarily because they market the "right" local people, and their door managers know how to maintain just the right balance between the rich/famous and the regular/experienced clubber.

Vegas clubs love celebs. They love the regular clubgoers, whether locals or repeat visitors. But they love the rich even more.

Keep in mind that Vegas is unique in that almost everyone who comes to town has the mindset that they're willing to do things they rarely -- sometimes never -- do back at home. Or anywhere else. The whole "what happens here, stays here" mentality is not some marketing gimmick that was created out of thin air; it's based on how people have generally spent their time in Vegas.

This translates to nightlife in two ways. First, a shitload of the people that go to the clubs in Vegas *never* go to clubs back home. Or anywhere else. As a result, many of them figure as long as they're going out, they might as well go all-out and hit a "hot" club.

Second, these same people going all-out are much looser with their wallets. There's a lot less hesitation to drop $300 per person on a table when it's something they will only do once a year (or less).

Factor in things like corporate expense accounts, gambling winnings and casino comps... not to mention your bed being a short walk or cheap cab ride away... well, the list of things that you don't have in other cities keeps growing and growing.

Every single thing in Vegas is more expensive than it is in other major cities... and many would argue that the attractions are no better. Why pay $200 each to see a band in Vegas when you can see them for $75 when their tour stops in your home town? Why pay $100 for a stand-up comic that you can see for $15 plus two drinks in a basement comedy club? Why pay $200 per night for a hotel room that's no better than the $39 Super 8 off the interstate? Why sit at a $25 table when you'd never bet more than $5 per hand at the Indian reservation?

Because... it's Vegas. The place defies reason. Probably why everyone has so much damn fun there.

I'm a big proponent of using VIP services, but I'm the last person to say they're absolutely necessary. You can always get to the club and line up very early. You can always grease the door. You can go into the club like you're boarding the Ark (in pairs). You can always meet gals at the pool, craps table, lounge or restaurant and take them to the club with you.

Or you can decide that spending a few extra bucks is worth saving yourself from the hassle, the time, the uncertainty.

Nice write-up, I agree with you on many levels. I think I will just be hitting the bars up before the clubs and finding those groups of girls and going in with them. Or at least, getting them to join my group.

Here's the deal....even though VIP Service Companies such as mine are nothing new, it is still very difficult to retain credibility in other people's eyes, especially with those who have never used such services.

So, when someone attacks or says anything derogatory towards our industry, such as "ridiculous VIP Services," I am inclined to defend my livelyhood.

Again, are we absolutely necessary? NO!

Do you have to be socially handicapped to use us? NO

As Greenie said, we are here to save people from the hassle of looking for girls or greasing the door and from the uncertainty of valid table reservations.

A simple, "and I do not wish to pay for VIP Services," would have sufficed. The word "ridiculous," is what sparked me.

If you find you are having trouble once you are here, contact me and I'll gladly help. r_klein@vegasstatusvip.com

Coyote is ugly chicks ... literally lol. No dancing on the tables. Sorta stupid, not as good as the other ones. If you are near by, sure, stop in for a second, but its a waste of a spot.

Mix - 7 to 9 can range from slow to amazing. Since this Bachorlette season (oh wait, I shouldnt have posted that lol), you might have fun. Mix has great drinks, super staff, amazing veiws. If you are impressin' the girls in yoru group, get there at dusk to show them the sunset.

Friday - Id say Body English. Im checking for you right now.

Afterhours - Empire or Seamless or Triq then Drais.

Hello Mudger,

I represent a company called Red Carpet VIP. We are the premier Concierge service & VIP entertainment company in Las Vegas. We are the only concierge service company recommended by the Better Business Bureau in Las Vegas. There are many points said above that have truth, but you still don't seem to have any worthwhile information.

Here's my opinion. First off, this is a huge weekend. With the opening of Rehab and Bare Pool with Donald Glaud on Sundayat the Mirage, there are tons of people coming to town. With that, prices are going up especially for Saturday. No matter where you go in town, the girls should be able to get in after some wait, however the guys will be a problem. If I read things correctly, you have 12 people. WAY too many for anyone to sneak into a club. Split up into two groups of 6, with more girls than guys in each group. Arrive early, (10-1030 latest), speak to someone with a clipboard or wearing a suit (not a guy wearing all black, as this is usually security). Only deal with VIP hosts, not security, as they have the power, and can take tips without comprimising their jobs. For PURE, arrive (930-10) if you want to actually speak to someone. Be polite, be patient, and tip 10 per girl, 20 per guy, and after some short wait, you should be OK.

While I do this for a living, and I usually charge for such information, I would be glad to assist you. Feel free to call me at 702-370-3143. My name is Jeff, VP of Red Carpet VIP. Why am I doing this? Because we are the absolute best, and I know you will like what I have to say, and you will send me business later.

I look forward to speaking with you. Best Wishes.

I love Mix, but I think 7pm is a bit too early. Don't recommend going there until sunset at the earliest.

Moon doesn't open until 10-11pm... even if it was open early... you'd have a tough time bouncing those 3 clubs within a 3-hour span. Given the distances (Mandalay to Palms to Caesar's) you'd have time for a quick drink at the first two spots at most... you'd spend more time waiting for and riding in a taxi than actually in the club.

I'd recommend hittting up a decent meal in Mandalay Bay or Mandalay Place around 7pm, head up to Mix for an after-dinner drink or two, then at 9:30ish bounce to the club of your choice.

Since you're from SoCal I'd recommend Tryst or Tao. You'll get the most unique decor and atmosphere at those spots, plus the crowd/attitude won't be as SoCal-heavy as Pure or BE. In my opinion the Pure door is too much of a mess to make a visit there worthwhile unless you've got a table or a hookup in advance... not to mention it always seems to be the heaviest on the sausage.

I'm also a big fan of Jet, the lighting and sound in the main room (hip-hop/mash/etc) is insane, they've got the best pre-4AM house music in town, and the third room (also hip-hop/mash/etc but with its own DJ) is always a great spot to meet people.

No matter where you go, remember this: it always takes longer to get where you want to go than you think.

LA vs Vegas? Id say yes or no.

LA - some venues f you arent on the guestlist, you will be turned away no questions asked.

Vegas - its not all about money. Lot of promoters who are on stafff for the venues walk around a few hours before the club opens inside the casino and pass out venue business cards with their name on them and offer to put people on the guestlist.
