porn
I am thinking about moving to a job in Princeton. Any opinions on living in the area? Is it a crazy hassle to party at clubs in NYC? What is a good place to live? What are the rents like? Or whatever other advice you might have.

I moved out of NY to Jersey about 2 years ago, and hated every second of it. I couldn't wait to move back. Jersey sucks.------------------You know everything will flow... g.roid
drew, easy with your jersey comments dickhead.... porn, if you wanna live in jersey i would suggest you stay somewhat north, so you still have access to the city in case you wanna go...you could probably find a place in union/essex county for $700-$800 rent...and that would still keep you within 30-45 minutes of princeton

Actually I like living in Jersey...u have the best of both worlds...if u live in Essex County...you're only 30 mins from the city but have much lower rents & u actually have green grass & trees...lol1BR will run approx $750-$900 in a nice area!! Just one piece of advice: don't ever plan to go out in Jersey...all the clubs suck!! IMOSMOKEE
aljedynak
I used to work in Princeton and lived 5 minutes away. If you are used to NY then it will be a big change. It's far from rural though. Then town itself is nice, upscale, many good places to eat. No club scene, mostly bars since the University is there. Renting in town will be very expensive. Try nearby Plainsboro, many apts for 800-1,000 a month for 1 bedroom. The area is filled with people who work for consulting firms, drug companies, etc. Driving to the city will be a pain but the train is easy and will take about 50 minutes.Hope this helps. PM me if you want more specific info.

greg_white
Ill tell you what sux - its payin NYC's crazy ass rent fer a roach infested studio when u can rent a loft downtown in Newark thats 6000 - 7000 square feet fer a grand a month..the same loft in NYC would be about 6 grand a month - THATS IF you can find 1. I recommend moving here , or somewhere close in Essex county close to the City Subway system - In fact I have an apartment here in Bloomfield in my 3 family home for rent AS WE SPEAK...it is 3 blocks from Franklin St station and Newark City subway. The rent is $875 for a 3 bedroom beautiful apartment with brand new modern kitchen and tiled bath and hardwood polished floors and you can be in NYC in 20 - 30 minutes. Perfect for a working couple or NYC professional and it only takes 11 minutes by PATH train to be at either 9th street station or the World trade center. I get a kick out of the younger NYkers that talk out of thier ass and kick that "NJ sux" nonsense...cut it out and grow up.
themisn
I would have to agree with all the ideas thrown around here...it all comes down to what u might find available. In any case, you can be close to work, and have great access to the city...and hey, if you move to bloomfield, you can always stop by the Nevada Diner and help out my cause! lol Good luck.--------------------LADIES, to the rhythm..feel the beat...feel the tweek

Money wise, you may find you have a lot more living in New Jersey!!Oooo - We do have a lot of trees in JZ. hehehe. The REAL question you have to ask yourself is where is your this new job going to take you in New Jersey? Positives vs. NegativesThen make the choice. Clubs - well you'll get to wherever you want to be.------------------CoSmic Karma Productions800-204-5205"MUSIC. . . MAKES THE PEOPLE. . . porn
Thanks for the ideas. Tommysauce gave me a source to check out apts in the Princeton area. Does anyone know where I can check apt listings in Hoboken or any of the other places in the area? Hey, we will be in town next week. We will be at the ClubNYC dinner on thurs and S&D on Fri. I'd love to meet you guys if you are going to either of those events.
