back2basics- Posted August 16 Report Share Posted August 16 MUZIK MAGAZINE DANCE AWARDS 2001The nominations for the Muzik Magazine Dance Awards 2001 - the dance industry'sOscars - were announced this Saturday in Ibiza. Number one DJ Fatboy Slim scooped three nominations for the awards, due to takeplace on October 11 at Planit Arches, Bishopsgate Viaduct in London. Frenchcombos Air and Daft Punk also netted three nominations apiece. Also set to dowell are US rapster Missy Elliot, dance dons The Chemical Brothers and DamonAlbarn's zombie hip-hop outfit Gorillaz who are nominated in the Best New Artistcategory. The full nominations are listed below and the star-studded bash willbe hosted once again by Radio 1's Pete Tong. On Wednesday August 8th, Muzik will kickstart a midweek monthly affair at AKA,West Central Street (8pm-3am, Free), whilst also celebrating the launch of theMMDA 2001! The new residency will boast Bedroom Bedlam DJ competition winnersand secret superstar guests each month. Join last year's Bedroom Bedlam winner Steve Gerrard plus Alison Marks, RobertoMarroni and Dr Rubberfunk for the first instalment, check out the new issue ofMuzik and cast your votes for the MMDAs 2201. (Unless I'm confusing this with another song)does the the song have a guy with a deep voice saying it bgean and africa with the ka sound being stuttered for about 10-15 seconds?
