boywonder77
I can't be the only person with nightmarish memories of Catholic school. Here's one, I got caught as the "ringleader" of a scavenger hunt, and I was the "bad kid" so I had to spend an entire week in the basement of the church with my hands folded in prayer while I stared at a wall for five straight days. Then they made me do like a million hours of community service. They wanted to kick me out, but I was banging the PTA presidents daughter:laugh: and she was with me, so they couldn't.I have many more, but I'll give you guys a chance.Best thing about Catholic school; hanging out at the bottom of the stairs when wee were freshman looking up the seniors skirts as they walked up the stairs. Second best thing about Catholic school; hanging out at the bottom of the stairs when we were seniors looking up the freshmans skirts as they walked up the stairs. georgym
I went to an All-boys prep high school, which was the toughest 4 years of my life:blank: Although I benefitted from the rigorous discipline and academics, it was tough 1) going to a school w/out girls 2) getting in trouble for the slightest thing, and 3) 5 hrs worth of homework everyday.I got in trouble a lot for bringing porno's into school. It was actually a lucrative industry until i got caught. I even remember one time me and my psycho friend Joe Schmoe (yes, that's his name) would rip out pictures of the magazine's and drop them in the strangest places ( fishtank, principles office, gymnasium. I left that school with 15 demerits and 7 warnings

grock1841
I went to Catholic school all my life - which basically gave me disipline. The real Catholic education was at Fordham with Jesuits teaching things like philosophy and theology. Anyone who bashes the Catholic Church hasn't talked to a Jesuit

rocketfuel76
Originally posted by grock1841 catholic schools will always be better than public really, I went to an all girls catholic highschool, it was okay. Most teachers though, don't have to be certified by the state in order to teach at a catholic school. I don't know if the rules are different now....But, if you teach in a public school, you are required to be certified by the state, whereas in a catholic school, an engineer can teach you math. They may make good engineers, but teachers, I don't know about. The only reason a catholic school is better, is due to the fact that you can weed out all the the "undiserables", so of course 85% of the students are going to be "non risk". But actually you also get those starved for attention kids, whose parents were never home, blah blah blah.........What was my orginal point? Oh yeah, so in theory the public school teachers are better qualified, I mean how much do nuns know about pre-cal??? The only problem with the public schools is that sometimes you can't learn, due to the "retards causing trouble in class, so all of your teachers time becomes wasted on these "retards" (and trying to control them). Thats why catholic school benefits. So thank the retards.
romy20
This doesn't really have to do with the topic, but my prediction is that in about 20 years, there's prolly not gonna be anymore nuns in the US.When I started out in kindergarten in catholic school, the principal and vice principal were both nuns, and there were about 10 nun teachers. When I graduated they were down to about 5, now there are NONE.Seriously, who wants to become a nun nowadays? Not saying its bad but you know? bertoccino
All they want is $$$$$$$$$$$ hell yeah all they want is money! "if you love god, pay money" its garbage. nuns capitalizing on our azzes. i went to catholic school from kindergarten to 7th grade and i HATED it...i was the biggest nuisance in class, caused the most trouble, and always started ish with the faculty.... i swear they found the weirdest characters to teach classes....im just like glowgrl...once i moved to a big public school i was terrified to death...i became the most shy kid, and always did my work~private school terrrified me as a kid, its bad! grock1841
?how else would Private Catholic Schools operate without money?Statiscally Catholic High Schools in NYC graduate like 90% to 4 year colleges. In NYC Public -kids can't pass Regents or get into CUNY. Yet you question the value of disipline and morals???

boywonder77
I think everybody should be free to determine what ther own morals are, not what some underqualified, underpaid catholic zealot crams down their throat. I actually started this thread when I went to visit my friends family and his 12 year old brother told me all fags are going to hell. That's a hell of a thing for a 12 year old to believe.
